Adventure of a lifetime!
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Princesse Royal
Everything could not have been better. The small group(30)was just right for riding and for socializing on the boat. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We had an excellent guide whose pride in his country and knowledge of history shone through.
The bike routes and stops for lunch and for evening walks were idyllic. The bikes were well maintained and comfortable to ride. Coming to the boat for a first class meal at the end of the day, was a delight.

Een leuke en leerzame tour door Istanbul
Europe & Asia Istanbul Bike Tour
De perfecte manier om een grote stad te verkennen en ervaren is een fietstour. Zo hebben wij al meerdere keren mogen ervaren. Dit keer in Istanbul onder begeleiding van Cem en Yasmine. Een goed onderlegde, Engelssprekende gids, die ons veel wetenswaardigheden wist te vertellen over Istanbul.
We fietsten met hem door het Europese en Aziatische deel, met tussendoor een boottocht om zo het prachtige Istanbul vanaf het water te aanschouwen. Cem wist ons veel te vertellen over de stad en zijn geschiedenis. Tussendoor was vragen stellen over van alles mogelijk en verzoeken om nog wat spontane dingen te bezoeken als de tijd dat toeliet, was ook geen probleem. Tussendoor gaf hij ons nog tips over goede restaurants of andere must-sees. De fietsen zijn in prima conditie. Wij hebben het 's een hele leuke tocht ervaren.

Love active travel? You’ll love this!
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
Meals were good / not overwhelming. Rooms were fine (we chose the upper deck). Bikes were not to the level we are used to at home and for 50-60 km days were “adequate”. There weeent many hills. The optional bike tours were great in Budapest and Vienna although you need to expect traffic in Vienna. The landscape was beautiful. Great trip!

Ideal bike tour through Umbria for our family
Umbria’s Green Valleys From the Pilgrimage Town of Assisi
Our family of four was in Italy for two weeks, and our self-guided bike tour through Umbria was the highlight of our trip. Our kids are 20 and 17 years old respectively. We were attracted to this particular itinerary, because of the location and moderate degree of distance and hills. All said and done, the tour exceeded our expectations. The local tour company provided everything we needed. The bikes and equipment were excellent quality. The tour briefing and advice provided from Paolo were excellent, and detailed directions were most reliable. You would really be unlucky to get lost on this tour. We appreciated that about ninety percent of the riding is on dedicated cycling trails or quiet back roads with little traffic. The countryside and the views along the way were impressive, and the many towns and villages we visited were attractive, friendly, and brimming with history. For accommodations, Casa del Acqua were most comfortable, and Torgiano had the best views and recommended restaurants. We were fortunate that we enjoyed excellent weather during our tour with mostly sunny skies and moderate temperatures. I recommend this trip for families and for anyone considering their first self-guided bike tour.

Fantastic trip through Algarve
Best of the Algarve by Road Bike
We took the 10 day version in 2014. Absolutely loved it. Paul took great care of us. All equipment was excellent. Hotels were good. Best of all Paul was able to accommodate some changes along the way.

Great family bike trip
Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic
Our trip was from Orleans to Tours, 4 total days of great biking, seeing the country side and visiting small villages. Biketours made it easy for us to navigate our route, sights and hotels. Having great information about the trip prior to our arrival and at our arrival was very organized. It was worth it to get the castle tour and dinner package. We would use Biketours again.

Beautiful Austria!
Innsbruck to Salzburg: Through the Alps Along River Cycle Trails
This was a wonderful tour for a "beginner" like me! The countryside was gorgeous, the bike paths varied, and the extra sights mentioned in the navigation book were easy to find and well-worth stopping to see. Everything organised by the tour company ran like clockwork: the bike delivery, hotel reservations, luggage transfer and mountain-pass transfer.
The three of us on this self-guided tour did not always agree on the direction to take, which led to quite a few "navigation discussions" and a few wrong turns, but that actually added to the adventure of the experience. Two days out of our five ride days, including the longest day, were in the rain (pretty heavy rain, in fact). Judging by the printed material, this is not unusual for the area, so be prepared!
A great experience - the area, the ride and the organisation!

Scenery and castles and yummy food, oh my!!!
Nature, Villages & Castles of the Loire River Valley
Very very enjoyable trip. All of the hotels were clean, comfortable and beautiful. Whole experience was great. We found that the app “ Geovelo” worked a lot better for navigation than the app from the bike company.

Great trip
Castles and Wines of Portugal
The tour was a lot of fun. Location was great. Tour operator was very helpful. Hotels were wonderful. Only problem was that it was very hot. Probably best before June as weather is unpredictable. We had bad luck of a heat wave and riding in 100 degree heat was hard and made us rush through some of the middle towns. This was a shame as local people were very kind and towns were interesting and filled with a lot of history. Would be a perfect Spring time ride. The second to last day is very hard as is one earlier climb but overall a great trip. We plan on doing one of the other tours offered by this operator in the future.

Great biking adventure
Provence by Bike and Boat
Loved our bike and barge trip through Provence. Our guide was knowledgable, funny and managed to keep us all together. The food and wine were excellent. The cabins are tiny and cramped but we spent most of our time outdoors or on deck, so we weren't especially bothered by this.

Full of highlights!
National Parks, Lakes & Canyons of Montenegro
We thoroughly enjoyed an 8 day self guided tour in May 2025. The route took us through stunning sights just as the title suggests. We had the upgraded accommodation and were delighted each night. The train trip from Podgorica to Mojkovac was in itself a highlight travelling through incredible country. Very basic arrangements for carrying our bikes though with no assistance to lift or lower the bikes on and off the train nor special areas for storing them. Our bikes actaully blocked a toilet for the 2 hour journey.

Biking the Swedish coast
Sweden’s West Coast: Helsingborg to Gothenburg
It was a great way to see Sweden. I wish we had stayed an extra night or 2 along the way so we'd have more time to explore these lovely towns. The bike path was fun and easy, the hotels good. I would have preferred a lighter faster bike to ride, and I tried to get a preview of the bike before we left but that didn't happen. We had a great time anyways.

Bucket list trip
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique IV (and reverse)
Springtime in Belgium and the Netherlands is a perfect time to ride through the countryside. Flowers and trees are a blooming! Our tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Customer service all around from tour guides to boat staff were top notch. We did not lack for anything. The bikes were comfortable. We rented an ebike and it was super easy to use. There were a few times I forgot to turn it on. They’re not a heavy bike, so easy to forget with such flat terrain.

We opted to rent e-bikes which allowed us to keep up with the stronger riders on our group. One drawback was the lack of directions for getting from the train station in Trieste to our hotel. Not knowing the lay of the land, which streets were apt to be steep or major thoroughfares, it took us 3 times what it should have to get to our hotel. Also Bled is a charming little town, but had we realized it is a major tour bus destination we would not have opted to spend the extra night there.

Amazing Scenery!
Innsbruck to Salzburg: Through the Alps Along River Cycle Trails
This was our third bike tour through biketours.com and it was definitely the most scenic. This must be one of the most beautiful areas on earth. Each day seemed better than the day before. Zell am See was absolutely gorgeous, in Lofer we had a beautiful view of the mountains from our room next to a stream, and Bad Reichenhall is a very quaint town you'll want to stop at for refreshments. The inns we stayed at were all we could ask for; very well-chosen, professional and comfortable. The breakfasts were a highlight for me; all-you-can-eat spreads with a wonderful variety of fresh food to give you energy for the day of cycling ahead. I would highly recommend this tour!

Grand Châteaux & Gardens of the Loire Valley
