Serbia
Off the beaten track
Land-locked Serbia is far off the tourist trail, and intrepid travelers will find a mix of centuries-old traditions and cultures—including Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian–that persist strongly to this day.
One of the country’s highlights is Đerdap National Park with its massive cliffs—some topping 1,500 feet—undulating for more than 60 miles along the Danube through the Iron Gates Gorge. The EuroVelo 6 route—and the incredible scenery—make the area a popular draw for cyclists.
The Danube meets the Sava River in Belgrade, a capital city both showing elements of its proud past and often gritty present and making its way toward a more optimistic future.
We would change nothing about this tour. We loved every minute of it. Everything was as expected, no unexpected surprises. The bikes, routes, optional tours, food, and accommodations were excellent. The staff was wonderful, so helpful and friendly. We would recommend this tour to anyone who is considering doing this type of tour.
