BikeToursDirect LLC DBA BikeTours.com (any references on this site and in correspondence to BikeTours.com and BikeToursDirect refer to BikeToursDirect LLC) does not organize its own tours but represents tour operators around the world and promotes and facilitates the sale of the tours they organize and operate. In addition to our terms and conditions, each tour operator offers its own, available on each individual tour page by selecting “Tour Company Terms” under the “Dates and Prices” tab.

Your booking of a tour through BikeToursDirect signifies your acceptance of the terms and conditions of BikeToursDirect and the respective tour operator.

BikeToursDirect has been approved for and participates in the Better Business Bureau’s BBBOnLine Reliability Program.

BikeToursDirect LLC DBA BikeTours.com is registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel, Registration No. ST39841, and in the state of California, Registration CST #2120437-50.

Reservations and deposit

Your booking is subject to availability and is not confirmed until we have emailed you a formal confirmation. Please do not make non-changeable travel plans until you receive your confirmation.

Once the local bike tour operator has sent us confirmation of your booking, BikeToursDirect will send you our confirmation and charge your credit card a deposit of US$200 per person plus a non-refundable booking fee of US$30 per person are due at the time of confirmation. We waive the booking fee for travelers age 17 and younger. Please note: The deposit and booking fee are charged only after we send confirmation to you—not at the time of booking.

Balance payment

Accepted methods of payment

The accepted methods of payments are:

  • Credit card (Visa, American Express, Discover, MasterCard)
    If you opt to pay by credit card, we charge a non-refundable surcharge of 4% based on the total tour cost. You can avoid this fee by paying by check (if you make final payment by check, you must still pay the initial deposit and booking fee by credit card, but the 4% service fee doesn’t apply). The charge on your credit card will read “BikeToursDirect LLC.”  You recognize that “BikeToursDirect LLC” will appear on your credit card statement and will not dispute the fee. You accept that disputing the charge for any reason will result in a $35.00 correcting fee.
  • Personal or bank check or money order
    Please make checks payable to “BikeToursDirect LLC” and mail to our office in Chattanooga: BikeToursDirect LLC, 3712 Ringgold Rd. #310, Chattanooga, TN 37412
  • Wire transfers
    You may pay by wire transfer either in U.S. dollars to our U.S. account or in euros to our Austrian account. There’s an additional $20 charge to offset our banks’ fees, and we ask that you add that to your total balance due. Please be sure the transfer includes a reference to your name, tour name, and/or invoice number. Please also email us with the wire transfer reference number at [email protected] We will provide you with our account information after you book.

Payment due dates

The due date for your balance payment depends on when your tour is confirmed:

    • Confirmation more than 60 calendar days before your tour: Full payment must be received at least 60 days before your tour start date.
    • Confirmation from 60 to 37 calendar days before your tour: Full payment must be received within one week of when your tour is confirmed
    • Confirmation within 36 days of your tour date: Full payment (deposit, booking fee, balance payment, credit card service fee) will be processed by credit card upon confirmation of your tour.

BikeTours.com reserves the right to put a hold on funds on your credit card in the amount of the entire tour cost, including the 4% credit card fee, prior to submitting our request to the local tour operator. If for any reason your booking is not confirmed, we will immediately release the hold. Upon confirmation, we will charge your card and forward funds to the local operator.

If you opt to pay by check or wire transfer, and we don’t receive your payment by the above deadlines, we reserve the right to charge your credit card. (If tour operators don’t receive full payment by their deadlines, they reserve the right to cancel your reservation and apply their cancellation fees.)

All payments by check or credit card must be made in United States dollars. Wire transfers can be made in either U.S. dollars or euros.

Calculating final tour price
With few exceptions, rates on this site are in local currencies (primarily euros), which we convert to dollars for your final payment. The exchange rates shown on our site represent the purchase rate for the local currency. Many websites show the mid-point between buy and sell rates for major banks, and rates charged to consumers and small businesses are 3-8 percent higher. We charge you the lower purchase rates.

If you make your final payment in United States dollars, the amount is based on the value of the United States dollar at the time of payment. If the value of the dollar decreases more than 5% from what you pay us (and what we pay the tour operator), we reserve the right to charge the additional cost (the full difference between what you have paid, and what we pay the tour company) to your credit card. In case of increased value, we’ll refund you the difference.


The local tour company may assess changes fees for changes you make after submitting your booking request such as changing a hotel category or dropping an extra night or bike rental.

The tour companies may treat date changes, especially those close to departure dates, like cancellations and assess cancellation fees. Please be as sure as possible of your plans when you book.

Cancellation by you

Cancellations must be made to BikeToursDirect in writing via email, fax or mail. Cancellation fees vary among tour operators. Please note that tour operator cancellation fees usually increase as the tour date approaches. The date and time of receipt will be based on when, during its regular business hours, the tour operator receives our notification. BikeToursDirect will send notification during its normal business hours and no later than three hours after receipt. Due to time differences, cancellation notifications by BikeToursDirect may not be received by the operator until the next business day.

The closer you are to the tour departure date, the greater the cancellation fee by the tour operator. Please see the tour operator’s terms and conditions on each individual tour page for the specific fees.

BikeToursDirect will refund what you have paid minus your booking fees, credit card service fee (if applicable), and any cancellation fees within 5-7 business days after we receive the refund from the tour operator. Refunds are given in United States dollars based on the value of the paid currency at the time of refund.

Cancellation by the tour operator

Some tours (generally guided and bike and boat tours) are subject to a minimum number of participants. Should a tour operator cancel a tour due to an insufficient number of participants, or any other reason, you are entitled to a refund of funds paid toward the tour or may have an option to apply those funds toward another tour. No other financial remedies exist. Please note that most basic travel insurance does not cover this kind of cancellation. If you want maximum coverage in case of cancellation, we advise that you select a plan or rider with “cancel for any reason” coverage, such as the Comprehensive Plan from InsureMyTrip.com. BikeToursDirect will refund your payments within 5-7 business days after we receive the refund from the tour operator.


In case of cancellation, BikeToursDirect will refund any difference between what you have paid and, in the case of client cancellation, any cancellation fees within 5-7 business days after we receive the refund from the tour operator to your credit card (or if you prefer, by check).

Limitation of liability

The responsibility of BikeToursDirect and/or our agents and representatives is strictly limited. BikeToursDirect does not organize its own tours but promotes and facilitates the sale of tours organized and operated by overseas tour operators and travel suppliers and as such assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned by through acts or defaults of any company engaged in conveying the passengers or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour. BikeToursDirect is not responsible for the willful or negligent acts and/or omissions of these suppliers or their employees, agents, servants or representatives including, without limitation, their failure to deliver or their partial or inadequate delivery of services.

By using the services of the suppliers or by submitting a booking request through BikeToursDirect, you agree that you will not hold BikeToursDirect and its agents or representatives liable for any accident, injury, costs, property damage, theft or personal loss. Any lawsuit arising out of the terms and conditions herein shall be governed by the laws of the country in which the European tour operator has its primary place of business. The exclusive venue for any action against BikeToursDirect shall be brought in the state courts of Hamilton County, Tennessee.

By submitting a booking request, you agree, warrant and covenant as follows: In consideration of the acceptance of this booking request, you hereby, for yourself, your heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and anyone entitled to act on your behalf, release and discharge BikeToursDirect, its representatives, agents and employees, from any and all claims of injury or damages suffered by you as a result of your participation in or traveling to or from bicycle tours presented by BikeToursDirect or developed for you. You know that bicycle riding is potentially hazardous. You should not ride unless you are medically able and properly trained. You assume all risks associated with riding, including but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effect of the weather, traffic, and conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by you. You realize that bicycling is a strenuous activity that requires proper physical conditioning. You hereby certify that you are in such physical condition and good health.

Every participant who is not a member of the same family must submit a separate booking form, or send an email to us stating that they have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. You signify that all individuals listed on your booking form are members of your family and have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. You assume all liability for individuals included on the booking form who are not members of your family.

Accuracy of information

Please note that most tour information has been supplied by third parties. We make every effort to make sure that the information contained on this site is accurate. To the best of our knowledge, research and belief, all statements and information given are correct. We will make every effort to correct quickly any errors brought to our attention. However, we accept no responsibility for errors or inaccuracies.

Personal responsibility

Although many photographs on this site (supplied by tour operators) show bicyclists riding without helmets, we can not stress strongly enough the importance of wearing a helmet on even the shortest, easiest and least trafficked ride. Most tour operators do not rent helmets. Please bring your own. Do not ride without a helmet!

You are responsible for your personal health being up to the physical demands of the tour. If you have any questions about a tour’s level of difficulty, please ask us. You are also responsible for compliance with the laws of each country you visit, including all traffic regulations.


I understand that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is believed to be spread by person-to-person contact, which includes touching a surface that has been contaminated by an infected person. I also understand that someone, e.g., another participant, a tour leader or guide, or other third party could have the novel coronavirus but not show symptoms. As a result, governments and health agencies at all levels of government (e.g., federal, state and local) recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people. I understand that local tour operators are taking steps to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus but cannot guarantee that I or any minor in my custody or care will not become infected with the novel coronavirus. Further, I understand that participating in activities offered by the local tour company or using any of its equipment or property may expose or infect me or any minor in my custody or case. I understand that the risks relating to the novel coronavirus, including contracting the virus, are inherent in my trip, and I assume those risks.
