Good trip but the traffic was too much on several days

    Balkan Treasures

We had a nice time but were not comfortable with the amount of traffic on the narrow roads on several days. Cars, trucks and buses would fly by us with no room for us to get out of the way which was very scary. We bike a ton at home so we are not novices. I would advise the local bike company to re=examine the bike routes this tour.

    Amazing coastline and scenic tour

Vicentine Coast of Portugal & Algarve

This was far better than anything we could have wished for. Each destination was amazing and the tour guides were excellent. We stayed in some amazing places off the beaten track. This is a must do. Great combination of pleasure and challenges.

    Emilia Romagna

    A Taste of Italy: Emilia-Romagna

Great way to experience the region. Adding a Cesarine cooking class personalized the cultural experience. Since the Agriturismo spot in Reggio Emilia is pretty isolated, one recommendation would be to shorten the stay there to one night and perhaps add another city enroute.

Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)

A gorgeous, scenic Bike Tour with excellent accommodations and great food! The path is as they say, flat and paved, though there are a few ups and downs when going in and out of the towns. Highly recommend!

Bicycle Paths of the Dolomites (based in one hotel)

We went the self guided route and the Dailey online maps worked great. The hotel was superb and the 6 course dinners outstanding. Excellent staff both hotel and Funacrive

    Beautiful Ride through Switzerland

Swiss Lakes by E-bike: Lake Geneva to Lake Lucerne

We had a fantastic trip and a great experience with BikeTours.com. We had to adjust our original trip due to a death in the family and BikeTours was wonderful to quickly re-schedule everything so that we didn’t have to cancel our trip. We also requested to leave our bikes in Interlaken for a few days so that we could spend a few days hiking in the Lauterbrunnen Valley (HIGHLY recommended) and BikeTours was very accommodating and booked the extra hotels in Murren and Grindlewald for us (hint: skip the crowded Grindlewald and stay in Wengen instead). Our hotel in Interlaken was downgraded due to the short re-scheduling notice, but we were just happy to be able to take the trip. We highly recommend this trip AND Bike Tours.com!

    Amazing fun family trip

    Lake Constance Bicycle Path

Wife and I went with two teenagers. We all enjoy physical activity and seeing new things. This was a wonderful fit for us. We really enjoyed the biking and exercise and getting to our next hotel and town to enjoy amazing accommodations and sites. We (me) opted for going old school without e-bikes, foot power only. It all worked out but there are some hills and a few steep inclines along the way and one or two days of longer miles. Paying extra for the e-bike would have been good in hindsight, at least for my wife. It allows you some more time at sites along the way or at destination town to explore.

    Bucket List Item

Wine, Dine and Electric Bike in Burgundy

We opted for the self-guided tour. Working with the GPS was a little confusing. I wonder if anyone from Active Tours recently rode the route provided to compare with reality. There were some trail closings due to construction. The GPS does not re-rout. To get back on course, you need to back track to get back on the route. Also, there were times where the verbal instructions did not match with the routing. The GPS mapping provided runs from top to bottom or horizontally. In North America the GPS flows from bottom to top. After a while it gets easier to follow. The first day was difficult but gradually things improved. It is not recommended to switch to Google maps to get you back on course as Google maps is not familiar with the rural French countryside. It can send you through plowed farm fields thinking this is a roadway. The luggage transfers worked perfectly. The ride through small French villages was special. It is difficult to visit a winery along the route as the owners ask for specific times of arrival. Also, some smaller wineries are not interested in bikers coming in as they generally will not be purchasing more than 1 or 2 bottles of wine. The hotels were well adapted to servicing bikers. Some very upscale hotels as well. It was a great way to experience riding and seeing parts of the country you would otherwise miss and sampling Burgundy wines.

    A Truly Wonderful Experience

Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica

This was our first "Bike & Boat" experience and it most certainly won't be our last.
Living on a boat like Romantica and biking on a different island every day was a dream come true.
The beautiful Dalmatian Coast, the warm bright blue Adriatic and a charming boat to live on while we explored it all made it seem like we were living in a fantasy.
With the addition of a great itinerary, wonderful bike routes to ride, and the most amazing and hardworking guides we were very happy with our experience.

    Fab 4 Bike trip

    Vienna to Budapest (Classic)

We had a wonderful time biking the Danube from Vienna to Budapest. The accommodations were great and the app was easy to follow. The bikes were very comfortable with soft seats and fairly upright so no wrist or neck issues. Our group of four ladies was a perfect amount of people to travel with. I would encourage anyone who can bike to do this trip.

    Loved it

Camino de Santiago: From Porto to Santiago de Compostela

Three of us were in sixties. We were fit and in good health. There were some changes not mentioned on the tour site. No Garmin provided. They provided the smart phone app. The app was not bad but we got lost quite a few times. We rented out e-bikes. Thank God we did. We would have quit on the second day if we had not rented e-bikes. The bikes we got were not e-MTBs. E-MTBs would have handled some terrains better.

Beautiful scenery, excellent cycling, great diversity in terrain

Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps

Absolutely loved this trip. A true From-the-mountains-to-the-sea adventure with a wonderful mix of scenery and cycling terrain. First two days were mostly along riverside cycle routes through lovely Austrian countryside with mountains as a constant companion. Next two days were a mix of roads and paths from Austria to Slovenia and back to Italy. These were the two more physically challenging days but the landscape was just enchanting. Last two days through Italy had some gravel riding through vineyards and a breathtaking road along the Adriatic into Trieste. I'm glad we just did the one night in Lake Bled. The lake itself is beautiful but the town is very touristy. I much preferred having time in Cividale del Friuli, which was very charming!

I'm middle aged and in decent shape. I normally ride an e-bike back home for commuting but opted for a non e-bike for this trip. I was worried that the inclines and distances would be too difficult but I managed to do all the riding (except for one or two steep sections) without a problem, just the right amount of challenging.

The hotels were comfortable, some more than others, but all were in a good location and had excellent breakfasts. One day our luggage arrived quite late, around 6:30pm, but usually the luggage was there when we arrived.

The app did use battery quickly as others said. Bring a power bank and/or plan to share navigating duties. Besides that, the app worked decently well. Sometimes the map was off but it was easy enough to figure out what was supposed to happen.

This trip has two transfers, one by van over a challenging mountain pass after Day 1, and another by train in Slovenia. For both transfers, the timing was actually different than what the app stated. We were informed of the change with a slip of paper, which would've been easy to misplace or not catch.

I got a flat on the last day. After "patching" the tube with the tire foam they provided, they directed us to a bike shop to have the tube properly replaced, and then I was reimbursed for that expense. The bike shop was a bit out of the way and I probably would've preferred just replacing the tube myself. Perhaps bring a spare tube with you in case this happens.

Looking forward to my next bike tour!

    Great cycling trip!

    Vienna to Budapest (Classic)

The classic tour from Vienna to Budapest exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely stretch of weather, warm with no rain, so the riding was easy and pleasant. The small towns were delightful, especially Gyor, and every hotel was comfortable.
The bikes were sturdy but lightweight, easy to ride and control.
Power banks were needed every day to maintain the provided navigation.

    Lake Bike Tour

    Lake Constance Bicycle Path

The tour was very well organized. The lake was very low due to a lack of rain, so probably not as scenic as it would otherwise have been. The hotels in Switzerland were very pedestrian and should definitely be upgraded. Also, the bags didnt always arrive timely when we got to the hotels in the afternoons. Apart from that, we enjoyed the trip and it went very smoothly.
