     Tour Description Daily Program

  • Daily program

The direction of this tour alternates each week. Both itineraries are detailed below.

    • Day 1: Dubrovnik (Embarkation)
Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, check-in on board takes place between 2 and 2:30 pm at Gruž, the town’s bustling port. At 4:30 pm, a guided tour of Dubrovnik is available, offering a deeper look into the city’s rich history and highlighting its most iconic landmarks, such as the ancient city walls and the historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The evening will be spent in Gruž, allowing guests to explore Dubrovnik’s vibrant nightlife, from its lively cafes to its atmospheric streets illuminated at night.

      Day 2: Dubrovnik – Island Šipan – Island Mljet (7-18 mi/11-30 km)
The day begins with a crossing to the island of Šipan, the largest of the Elaphiti Islands, though still relatively small in scale. Šipan provides an ideal location for the first group bike tour, offering a gentle introduction to the terrain. After the ride, the journey continues with a cruise to Mljet, a verdant island where 70% of the land is covered by dense forest, making it the most forested island in the Mediterranean. This island holds a special place in mythology, as it was featured in Homer’s “Odyssey” as the dwelling of the Nymph Calypso, who enchanted Odysseus for seven years. The boat will dock at Pomena, where a bike tour through Mljet National Park reveals the island’s natural splendor. The night will be spent in the peaceful harbor of Pomena.

Day 3: Islands Lastovo and Korčula: Korčula town (18 mi/28 km)
In the morning, the ship sets course for Lastovo, a smaller inhabited island in the Adriatic Sea. Celebrated for its mild climate, the island was named "Augusta Insula" in Roman times in honor of Emperor Augustus. The day's bike tour will take you across this picturesque island, known for producing Marastina, a golden-hued white wine famous beyond Croatia’s borders. Afterward, the journey continues with a cruise to Korčula, often hailed as one of Dalmatia’s most beautiful islands. The charming town of Korčula, with its fishbone-patterned alleyways, vies with Venice as the possible birthplace of the legendary explorer Marco Polo. The evening is spent in Korčula, where a guided tour reveals the rich history and captivating stories of both the town and the island..

Day 4: Korčula Island: Korčula town – Vela Luka (38 mi/60 km)
The cycle tour today spans the enchanting island of Korčula, known for its mild Mediterranean climate and diverse terrain. The route offers various landscapes, with opportunities to pause and take in the sweeping views of the deep blue sea and surrounding islands. After the day's ride, dinner will be served on board, offering a chance to relax and refuel. The evening will be spent anchored in the serene bay of Vela Luka, a spot favored for its natural beauty and tranquility.

Day 5: Island Hvar: Hvar Town – Stari Grad – Jelsa – Stari Grad (13 mi/22 km)
The day begins with a leisurely cruise to the town of Hvar on Hvar Island. Before the cycling tour, take some time to stroll through the city, where the stunning Renaissance Square offers a view of the Spanish fortress perched above. The bike tour starts in Hvar and winds through charming villages and lavender fields, leading to Stari Grad on the island's opposite side. The descent into Stari Grad provides breathtaking vistas. After a lunch break, the journey continues with a second ride through the island's lush plains, arriving at the coastal town of Jelsa. Here, the afternoon can be spent exploring local galleries and museums before completing the circuit back to Stari Grad for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Island Hvar: Stari Grad – Jelsa – Stari Grad – Island Brač (13 mi/22 km)
In the morning, embark on a scenic bike tour from Stari Grad to the harbor of Jelsa and back. Jelsa is an ideal spot to enjoy some ice cream and coffee. On the return trip, cycle through the charming town of Vrboska and across the ancient Greek plains, now a protected UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon returning to Stari Grad, board the boat for lunch and set sail for the island of Brač. Known for its distinctive white limestone, which was used in landmarks like the White House and Berlin’s Reichstag, Brač also offers a refreshing swim stop from the boat during the cruise. The day will conclude in the harbor town of Milna, where the afternoon and evening are yours to explore.

Day 7: Brač Island: Milna – Postira (18 mi/29 km)
Today’s cycling route follows the northern coast of Brač, traveling from Milna to the charming harbor town of Postira. The journey offers stunning views of the Dalmatian Islands and the Croatian mainland. The afternoon and evening will be spent in Postira, where you can relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views across the channel to the mainland. Following this, embark on a final journey to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Split. A guided tour will reveal the intricacies of the former Palace of Emperor Diocletian and its evolution into the vibrant city it is today. The week concludes with a festive evening meal aboard the boat, offering a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of the journey with fellow travelers and tour guides.

      Day 8: Split disembarkation
The tour concludes this morning at 9 am

    • Day 1: Embarkation in Split
Arrive in Split on your own and check in on board between 2:00 and 2:30 pm at Split Harbor. The boat will dock in Split overnight, allowing time to experience the city's lively evening atmosphere and vibrant waterfront.

      Day 2: Split – Island Brač: Postira – Milna – Island Hvar: Stari Grad – Jelsa – Stari Grad (18 + 12 mi/ 29 + 20 km)

Upon reaching Brač, cycle along the island’s northern coastline from Postira to Milna, enjoying panoramic views of the Dalmatian archipelago. After descending into Milna, reboard the boat for a scenic cruise and a refreshing lunch as it heads towards Stari Grad on Hvar Island. Day 3: Hvar Island: Stari Grad – Hvar – Island Korčula (14 mi / 22 km)
Today's cycling tour takes you from Stari Grad to the island’s capital, Hvar, on the opposite side. The route traverses wild lavender fields and quaint villages and offers stunning views of the Dalmatian coastline. Upon reaching Hvar, explore the city and admire the grand Spanish fortress dominating the Renaissance Square. Afterward, return to the boat for lunch and set sail to the harbor town of Vela Luka on Korčula Island. The evening will be spent in Vela Luka, where you will stay overnight.

Day 4: Island Korčula: Vela Luka – Korčula City (38 mi / 60 km)
Cycle across the picturesque island of Korčula towards Korčula City, experiencing the mild Mediterranean climate and diverse landscapes along the way. Pause during the ride to enjoy stunning vistas of the neighboring islands against the expansive sea. Upon reaching Korčula City, explore its unique charm, often rivaling Venice as the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. The city's distinctive fishbone alleyways and impressive architecture offer a memorable visit. Participate in a guided tour to delve into the rich history of both the city and the island. Spend the night in Korčula City.

      Day 5: Island Korčula – Lastovo (17 mi / 28 km)
Start the day by departing from the lively Korčula City and cycling towards the tranquil island of Lastovo. Along the way, take a refreshing swim from the boat and savor a delicious lunch. Once on Lastovo, embark on a bike tour of one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Adriatic Sea. The island, once known as "Augusta Insula" in honor of Roman Emperor Augustus, was favored for its pleasant climate. The island's small population continues traditional practices such as fishing, agriculture, and viticulture. The renowned Marastina wine, which has gained recognition beyond Croatia, is produced here from grapes grown on Lastovo. Spend the night in this secluded harbor enjoying the serene ambiance and a star-filled night sky.

Day 6: Mljet Island: Mljet National Park – Island Sipan (16 mi / 30 km)
In the morning, breakfast is enjoyed on board during the cruise to Mljet, an island known for its lush greenery—70% of its land is covered by forest, making it the most wooded island in the Mediterranean. This island is famously referenced in Homer’s "Odyssey," where it was the home of the nymph Calypso and the Greek hero Odysseus, who spent seven years there. After a refreshing swim from the boat and lunch on board, arrive at the harbor of Pomena. In the afternoon, explore Mljet National Park on a bike tour. The night will be spent in the harbor of Pomena.

      Day 7: Mljet Island – Dubrovnik (20 mi / 33 km)

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, there will be ample time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage city and join a guided tour. The week concludes with a festive dinner on board, offering an opportunity to celebrate the journey’s achievements with fellow travelers and tour guides.

The cycle tours demand an advanced level of fitness, reaching elevations of 200-500 meters above sea level. These day tours, covering up to 37 miles (60 km), will lead through hilly and mountainous terrain without any strict time limits. Participants should be prepared for long and steep climbs.

There is also the option to skip a planned cycle tour and spend a half or full day swimming or relaxing on board the boat.

Guided group pace: On this program, the riding pace is determined by the cyclists on regular bikes. We ask guests who have reserved an e-bike to be mindful of this and to acknowledge that regular cyclists need time to rest and take longer to climb the hills.

First Boat/Bike tour; would do it again!

Our guide and boat crew were great. We had some bad weather and they worked together to make up for it by diverting to other islands. We used e bikes with pedal assist; they were very nice bikes. There were extra bikes and batteries in case of problems. There was a nice balance of boat, bike, and independent on shore time

        Great great trip

What a great trip. Except for the condition of the "hybrid" bike I had (did not use e-bike), everything about this trip was beyond expectations...cabin, food, support, guides. My wife and I have been on other bike trips and have loved them. This trip was truly the best we have done. Everything was done to make the trip 5 stars. Modifications, when needed, were made with consideration for providing the best experience possible. For the casual rider or not in top notch condition
individual, an e-bike, is a must and will make the riding experience way fun. The islands are beautiful. The ride routes have challenging climbs. Guides were extremely knowledgeable, and supportive. The Romantica is charming and seemed the perfect match and vibe for the itinerary.
There are newer and more "glamorous" ships we encountered, but was glad to be on the Romantica.

        Highest recommendation.

As noted above, my only negative was the non e-bikes provided us. I am an very experienced rider and the bikes provided (the first one was not in acceptable riding condition, and the second provide was just slightly better) were poorly maintained, with shifters not working properly, rusty chains, etc., the wrong size for me, and the rides would have been way more enjoyable on a "good" bike. E-bikes appeared in good condition and well maintained.

In spite of this, I loved this trip.

Leaders and group made this a magical experience

Not only did we have an exceptional trio of guides with us, we had an unusually small group which made usb bond so much easier. Loved getting to know the others on our boat, the Romantica, and travel around the beautiful isles of Croatia. I started off with a regular bike, able to manage the hills fairly easily, but always coming in just a bit later than those on e-bikes. There were some extra e-bikes and we decided on Day 4 to give it a try, and I was sold - it THEN became a vacation!! I didn't mind the effort pedaling uphill the minute we got on our bikes in the morning, but after pedaling on an e-bike, it's just so easy - and I didn't use the "help" that much, but when I wanted it, it was there and I didn't have to struggle at all! Sooooo nice!

        Outstanding trip

My wife and I took the Romantica from Dubrovnik to Split and had an excellent time! The three guides were outstanding: knowledgeable and extremely personable. We only had 12 people in our group, so there was lots of room on the boat to wander around. The city walking tours were a nice addition. The hills are a real climb, most of our group were on e-bikes but I started the trip on a peddle-bike. After 3 days I switched to an e-bike and really preferred it, would recommend e-bikes.
