Amazing trip with old friends and made many new friends.

National Parks of Dalmatia by Bike/E-bike and Boat

From the moment we got on board the Melody in Trogir we felt welcomed and
comfortable. The rooms were spacious and very well maintained. The crew was helpful and very qualified. The food was plentiful and good. Selection of bar drinks were also great. Opportunities to swim off the back of the boat were amazing and much enjoyed. The bike ride was really fun and the e-bikes made it a most enjoyable ride. The guides Ivan and Tara were some of the best we have ever had. Fun, knowledgeable and kept us all safe and informed each and every day. Thank you so very much.

    Stunning, best way to travel

Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps

This was my first bike tour and, wow, it did not disappoint. Scenery from the get go was absolutely stunning. You traverse incredible border towns between Italy, Austria, and Slovenia on this entire tour, staying at lovely Inns and eating incredible food along the way. My only gripe was that the written directions were confusing at times (have given feedback) but I wouldn’t let this deter you.

    A Natural Wonder

Bergen to Sognefjord: Cycle Norway's Greatest Landscapes

We had an incredible experience on this bike tour. The trip was so thoughtfully planned by the local tour company. Not only are you biking along some of the most beautiful natural landscape in the world, you are staying at iconic historic hotels (complete with delicious meals included!) and experiencing so many facets of Norwegian culture. Highly recommend! This is my 3rd bike tour and I could not recommend enough

    I will note two things:
    1. we lucked out with beautiful weather. Perfect sunny, blue sky days for our whole trip. If it were raining and cold, it would still be fun but just know that the weather is unpredictable
    2. The cycling occurred on roads shared with motorists. 95% of the time this was totally fine because the car traffic was so infrequent, but keep this in mind if you prefer not to share the road with cars.

    Amazing trip!

    Medieval Villages of Catalonia

Absolutely wonderful tour along the Costa Brava. Daniel was an amazing host - incredibly responsive, attentive, and helpful (he swapped out two of our cyclist's bikes for e-bikes in the middle of the trip). I would say that the destinations were, at times, better than the routes themselves. The mediterranean sea was STUNNING, as were the medieval villages, but the routes took us through dry, hot landscapes. The final day was also a highlight - summiting a famous girona cycling route to Els Angels. The routes always felt safe and very doable (in terms of distance and difficulty). I would recommend an e-bike as there were plenty of rolling hills, and very high elevation gain on the final day. Highly recommend this trip to anyone!

What a way to see Tirana!

Tirana to Mount Dajti Downhill MTB Tour

Thank you so much to Ermal for showing me around on two wheels - the views on this ride are spectacular, the riding is fast and flowy, and you never know what you’re going to see in the mountains! The whole day was easy thanks to Ermal and his team. Highly recommend this tour for people wanting a special way to see and experience Tirana.

    Amazing trip!

Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps

Great way to explore the boarder region amongst Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The scenery is amazing, and it is a great opportunity to enjoy some towns and places that are not widely seen by regular tourists.
Travel documentation supplied by the local tour company is very good with complete information about the route. I'd recommend the investing on the GPS too, as it helps a lot with navigation activity.
The accommodations and the included meals were really good, perfect for those who would like to spend some days away from crowd and large cities.
In summary, it was a great experience, I'm looking forward for another bike tour like this one.

A wonderful way to see the islands and small towns

    South Dalmatia Bike/E-bike and Boat

Croatia has always had good reputation for an early and late season vacations. Our trip in mid-May was perfect, the Adriatic was warming up every day and the 75 degree weather was ideal. This affordable trip suppled us with comfortable rooms, a nice dining area and a shaded sunning area on top. The National Parks were beautiful and relatively uncrowded compared to the larger cities and the parks in the rest of Europe. We didn’t know anyone else on the tour when we arrived but soon found new friends for future travel experiences. Our guides were fun and helpful and e bikes made hilly sections much easier to navigate and quality of the bikes were first rate. We look forward to catching another tour on the Magellan or their sister boat in 23!

Best of both worlds, self-guided but with an accompanying driver

    UNESCO Sites of Albania

The scenery was amazing. I highly recommend this company and this trip. The roads varied from recent resurfaced smooth pavement to a slalom course of potholes. However, since on the pothole roads the traffic amounted to maybe seven cars an hour, there was plenty of space to dodge the holes. In all but a couple of stretches, the busier roads had good shoulders. And there were some roads that had both a good surface and little traffic. How often does that happen?Do be prepared to climb. Those elevation profiles don't lie.
Hotels varied from high end to very basic depending on the locale. If you are in the middle of nowhere and have great scenery and no traffic, there are going to be compromises. When I rate the accommodations a four instead of five, it is because of the limited options out in the countryside. This is through no fault of the tour company but it would not be fair to readers of this review to have them think everything is up to US standards.
Since we were self-guided, breakfast was the only meal provided. In all cases it was totally adequate and a couple of times, outstanding
The bicycles were quality and in good shape.
We did a self-guided trip and had thought that would involve just having the luggage moved for us. They gave us a driver that was with us the whole time. Not only did he transport our luggage, if the route out of town had any turns, he led us out and also waited at any tricky turns along the way. Great job Elvis!!!!
I can highly recommend this trip. Do go in the off season like we did so the coast is not crowded and go now. They are improving a lot of the roads which I am sure will lead to more traffic. Also, as the country becomes more affluent there will be more cars on the road.

    Fantastic journey!

    Lake Constance Bicycle Path

We did a self guided tour. We had so much fun in the villages with great food and accommodations, most were in the center of the towns. Great breakfasts and service in general. Felt fantastic to ride on the safe bike trails about 3/4 hours daily. We took time off to swim in the lake and get ice cream and relax in the many parks. Great history and a way to immerse more authentically in the vulture. I give this type of holiday my highest recommendation.
Staff was always available for our concerns and questions.

    Fantastic experience!

Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest

Our self-guided bike tour from Passau to Budapest was fantastic! Bike Tours transported our luggage (LOVED that) and provided excellent ebikes and mostly excellent hotels. The bike paths were mostly easy to follow but even with the Pedalo App and map books provided with the bikes, I would have gotten hopelessly lost if we didn't have internet and maps to use too. Especially after Vienna when some paths got so rough I thought they couldn't possibly be part of the EV6/R1... BUT THEY WERE!!! But, most of the paths were great. I absolutely, thoroughly recommend a Danube bike tour. The best part (and I think this is true to most people judging by how many cyclists and guided bike tours were going on there) was Wachau around Durnstein.
We went in Autumn and I think that was brilliant because it wasn't so busy and watching the trees turn golden as we progressed was a beautiful surprise.
Some cycling days were 60km which I believe was too long because we had no time to explore the towns at the end of the day. We just wanted to use the pool and sauna when available. I was SO glad when the hotel had those facilities. Best thing ever at the end of a long day of riding. Especially when it was wet and cold, which, unfortunately we had for the first few days. I definitely recommend paying extra to get more accommodation with saunas. All the hotel staff were used to cyclists and some had excellent storage. Others, didn't, but the staff were always helpful. Pack as lightly as you can, because even though the luggage is transferred for us, some hotels were walk-ups! Not good. Even worse there was a train journey in a town that only had stairs between platforms! With bikes! Awful. IF you can avoid the train, that's probably best.

      Donna,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your self-guided tour from Passau to Budapes, especially the e-bikes, luggage transfers, and those beautiful stretches along the Danube. Wachau around Dürnstein is a favorite for many of our travelers, so we're glad it stood out for you as well.

You’re absolutely right about autumn being a wonderful time to ride, and also about those longer cycling days. This is great feedback and something we’ll keep in mind for future route planning. We’re also happy to hear that the hotel saunas were a welcome reward after the colder, wetter days!

Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We hope to welcome you back on another cycling adventure soon!
