Lake Constance Bicycle Path
A wonderful and unique way to experience Lake Constance, with wonderful food, beautiful water, and relatively flat bike path! A place to stop and eat lunch or take a swim practically anywhere! Opportunities to stand up paddle board or play volleyball!

Beautiful countryside & amazing castles and wineries
Castles and Wines of Portugal
We had a great time cycling through The Alentejo region where wildflowers, castles, olive and cork tree groves, and fields of grapes were abundant. The bikes were in great shape, detailed directions and tour guides helpful!

Holland’s Super Tulip Tour
Guide was excellent. Did all the navigation. Knowledgeable about Holland and its history and culture. Food was beyond expectations. Chef really did try to accommodate everyone’s needs the boat captain competent.!!

Stunning Views
Bicycle Paths of the Dolomites (based in one hotel)
This was our first biking trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. No problems with the ebikes although we were concerned that tools and a flat repair kit were not included. Appreciated the pannier to carry our stuff. App worked well at guiding us, just a few wrong turns. The packet with maps and history of sites was great. The Hotel Hubertushof was charming. It was about a mile from the center of town. Staff was friendly and efficient, and the multi-course dinners were a nice ending to each day. Highly recommend this trip.

We had a great family time. Following the tour was easy - one followed the map, the other the instructions - it was worth following the proposed route and not google maps.
On the 65km day, we arrived late at our destination and one of the highlights was already closed. Including a bit of info of the main cultural attractions would be helpful. Fantastic Trip
Greek Island Adventure by Bike and Sail
I have been on several bike and boat tours. This past week on the ship Running on Waves was certainly a cut above. The ship was immaculate, staff was over the top helpful and catered to everything we could possibly need. Our bike guide Alex was excellent and our rides beautiful, challenging and interesting. 5 + stars.

Wonderful trip
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique IV (and reverse)
Terrific guides and a perfect mix of time in rural and urban areas. Enjoyed the beauty of the countryside plus some of the great cities of Europe. Surprised that so many in the group were using e-bikes. The frequency of rest stops was perfect. Food on the boat was excellent.

Perfect balance for families
Ionian Islands Multi-sport Family Cruise
We went on this tour at the end of a long summer travel, and it was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation for our family. Our guides, Tina and Niovi were absolute pros - warm, available, generous and skilled. The level of exertion was just right for our healthy but not super fit family - we got close to our limits for vacation but never felt pushed too far and therefore ended up feeling improved without feeling depleted. The delicious and generous shared meals are served family style so there was plenty of opportunity to socialize with the other guests, and we were lucky to have similar age kids on our trip. The boat is absolutely "ship-shape", in great condition and well maintained and the captain and crew work hard to make it the most comfortable experience possible. They warned us in advance when we might expect swells, and even those days were delightful sailing so I am sure they timed and charted the course for our benefit.

Love riding through gorgeous bike paths during the day and then afternoon and evening relaxing on boat hotel. No need to pack up & move on until trip ended. fabulous food and gracious hosts.

Excellent!
Lake Constance Classic (11-nights)
Overall an excellent tour. One thing which would have improved it would have been a little more precise directions - possibly in the form of a printed addendum - giving the INITIAL directions from each hotel to the start point e.g. bike path for each day's ride. Sometimes this was tricky and the scale of the map wasn't helpful. A classic example was the hike day at Rorschach. Most of us missed the hike trail because it was unclear where it started in relation to the Heiden train station.

Beautiful views and wonderful hospitality.
Aegean Discovery: Cycling through Eastern Crete
We enjoyed this trip immensely. The views are fabulous and the food is delicious. The people of Crete are very friendly and accomodating. The trip is not overly challenging but an ebike is a worthy investment. Ride with GPS works well but don't follow it blindly. If it is taking you somewhere that you aren't happy about, don't hesitate to zooout and look for an alternative route. Highly recommended tour.

Awesome experience
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Princesse Royal
This trip on Magnifique III was our second after an equally great trip on Magnifique II last year. The boat and bikes were great and the group of 40 people from all over the world made for awesome conversation and fun. Our guide Hester (same as last year) was truly amazing and we were fortunate to have her again. The only negative aspect was the air conditioner broke down on the second day of our August trip which made for some very uncomfortable evenings on board.

Bucket List Adventure
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Princesse Royal
The entire trip was awesome from start to finish. Tour guide(Hester)and boat staff/captain were all extremely accommodating at every request. The thirty four passengers from U.S.,Canada,Scotland,Brazil,Germany,Switzerland and Portugal were all easy going and ranged in ages fro two teenage girls to people around 70.There were never any issues between the guests during meals, evening relaxing time and daily rides.The choice of paths/routes brought out the best of Belgium and Holland and high lighted the country side farms and villages as well as several larger cities. The only suggestions we have would be to try and provide a little variety of breakfast foods and keep the cabin temperature a little cooler on very hot summer days.

Dedicated guides that will make your trip
Danube River and Black Sea
The best thing about this trip were the guides. They were so nice, and they tried to accommodate all our needs. They listened and adapted when needed. And they did it all with a great demeanor. They really made sure we enjoyed!
The trip had a lot of activities. In addition to cycling 20-70 km a day, with a lot of hills, the guides took us on hikes to show us beautiful sites, and we kayaked down the Danube.
Bulgaria is apparently an unusual choice for cycling. But it clearly has a slowly growing cycling niche. It is challenging, with a lot of hills, and having to off-road at times, so don't be ashamed to opt for an e-bike (I didn't, but there were times I wished I did). But as I struggled, the guides were amazing, they supported, they slowed down to my pace, made sure I always had someone with me, and they pulled when the wind was hard! Absolutely wonderful!
The trip went off the beaten path, but the company chose nice locations, the hotels and B&Bs were always clean, and they checked with us to make sure things were ok.

Excellent trip
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
This was our first experience with cycling and cruising. It could not have been any better. Everything was perfect. The travel arrangements, the hotels before and after the cruise and the cruise itself were perfect.
The Passauer Wolf hotel in Passau, Germany was in a perfect location, excellent staff, (Fredericka) and very modern and comfortable in an historic building. The transportation from Munich to Passau prior to the cruise and after the cruise was on time and professional.The cruise on Vivienne beyond our expectations. Everything was done professionally with friendliness and courtesy. The ship itself was very comfortable, our cabin was well appointed and the service was amazing (Ramona). The food was abundant and of wide variety. Every meal was a delight and delicious. The wait staff was superb and learned each of our tastes (Muhammad).
The cycling was well planned and thought out. The cycling sections were appropriate for inexperienced riders, but still interesting and enjoyable for seasoned riders. The cruise director, Leslie, was a superstar. He marked each cycling course so well the riding app was not needed. Leslie also provided informative and very useful briefings prior to each ride and each port visit that were interesting and entertaining. He also dealt with problems that arose with quiet, calm efficiency. He is a real treasure.
The tour guides in Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest were all superb.
In short. I would highly recommend this tour on Vivienne.

Dolomites to Venice Along the Old Dolomites Railway Track
Great cycling and and absolute best way to see the Dolomites. The routes are great, with a little bit of climbing and some fun downhill sections each day. I commute to work and found the riding matched my ability, leaving enough time to stop here and there, and explore the city at the end of each stage.
TIP: The routes are mostly intuitive and easy to follow, but there are some challenges and confusing areas. If you ride this tour, skip wrestling with the paper map and use a GPS. I set aside some time before each ride to plot my route using the Komoot cycling app on my phone - I found I made fewer wrong turns and had more confidence to have fun with the ride and take in the scenery.

Loved every minute
Rhine Bike Path: Mainz to Cologne
This was our first bike vacation and didn't know what to expect, we loved every minute! We chose Bike Tours Direct because they allowed us to change the itinerary to include 2 extr days in Lorch, the town that shares my husbands family name! After all this was his 60th birthday trip. We had a magically stay in Lorch, met the Mayor who gave us the town flag and put our picture on their FB page! Fun.
We never saw the team that picked up our luggage, but sure enough our bags were always waiting for us at our next stop. The entire bike trip was beatiful, historical and we can't wait to go again.
