Overall Great Experience from Start to End!!

Danube Bike Path 8 Nights (Upscale Lodging)

This was our first bike tour as a family, but based on our experience, it won't be our last. Overall, everything went smoothly and was great!! BikeTours was responsive to my many questions and easy to work with. The representative from the tour company brought the bikes and documentation as expected, and was flexible when one bike didn't fit correctly (our error) and needed to be exchanged. Service at every stop was very good to outstanding, and the accommodations were very comfortable and clean without exception! Our luggage was smoothly transported from one day to the next. The bikes were comfortable, and riding along the Danube was really special!

I agree with another reviewer who suggested reading through the touring documents each evening to decide on where to stop the next day. That worked well for us too. We also brought snacks and water, and made a point of stopping regularly, given particularly warm weather. I would also recommend having at least one phone with a GPS application, as finding the specific hotels was sometimes challenging, particularly in the larger cities.

Biking through small cities and towns provided a different type of vacation experience for us, as we are used to visiting larger cities. We really enjoyed seeing the country in this way. I found a few of the longer days of biking to be challenging, but as promised, the path was flat to slightly downhill and we were on bike paths for the majority of the time. Even in Vienna, there were bike lanes in the city to get us to the hotel. The paths were well traveled and always felt safe.

Overall, everything was great and I would do it again in a second!

(There were 4 of us traveling...my husband, me and our 2 children in their early 20's. We really liked the flexibility of being self-guided.)

Everything i wanted and more.! I am very very pleased with the experience.

Burgundy Wine Trails: Beaune to Macon on the “Voie Verte”

My tour was something I will remember forever. The bike was well equipped for the tour. The phone holder worked very well and the app was easy to use. My favourite part of the tour quickly became the first 20 min of the day after leaving the hotel and having a beautiful morning ride of out the towns into the country side. The scenery was so so lush and green. Birds singing, flowers blooming everywhere. We took a long slow lunch in the many beautiful towns and had a wonderful experience. Will be taking about this trip to everyone!

    FINE RIDE

Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps

A wonderful way to experience the Dolomite and end up in a superb Italian town. (Trieste) There are many different parts of Italy to see, but this trip might be the epitome of experiencing the Dolomites. I have taken many trips with Bike Tours, but this one may have been the finest. Good hotels, a superb route, and exquisite scenery made this trip four star. Renting an electric bike might be a nice option for the last parts of the trip. So would a G.P.S. as the directions can be a little hazy. Getting to the start of the trip could be a little dicey for the traveler but public transportation prevails.. Do this trip..AND TAKE THE 2 DAY OPTION IN BLED

    Amazing Experience!

    Cycling the West Balkan Triangle

Our tour was just amazing and each day was like a new adventure. The cycling routes were diverse through beautiful landscape. Uphill’s and downhills, sometime difficult but always very enjoyable. Our guide Mario and Dinko were great and played a huge part in making this trip so incredible. I can highly recommend this tour.

The best Beatles tour in Liverpool

    The Beatles Liverpool E-Bike Tour

This was an outstanding tour of Liverpool’s Beatles history, and the history of Liverpool as a port city. Our guide, Dale, was incredibly friendly and gave us high-quality commentary throughout the tour, teaching even lifelong Beatles fans something new about the band!

The tour took us to the two main cathedrals, to the schools of John, Paul and George, the homes of John, Paul and Ringo, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Woolton Village, Sefton Park, the grave of Eleanor Rigby, and along the beautiful Mersey promenade. By bike, we were able to reach places I hadn’t been able to see on a bus tour.

I especially enjoyed our stop at Strawberry Fields, where we were given the chance to stop for coffee and see the original piano used by Lennon to record ‘Imagine’, complete with cigarette marks! Likewise, popping into the gift store on Penny Lane was a lovely touch.

Our tour guide Dale, assisted by Sean, made sure we were comfortable all the way and took time to get to know us. I was impressed not only by his knowledge but by his commitment to making this an eco-friendly tour. It finished with a very relaxing ride along the promenade by the Mersey, with beautiful views of the river.

We were kitted out with top quality e-bikes which made the whole tour very easy. Naming them after famous Liverpudlians is a great touch, and it was a brilliant atmosphere having the tunes of the Beatles playing from Dale’s bike as we cycled.

I would highly recommend this tour to everyone wanting to discover authentic Liverpool, even if they aren’t a Beatles superfan – you get to see so much of the city. For a Beatles fan, this tour can’t be beaten.

    London's best landmarks

    London West End Bike Tour

I was only in London for a day but I felt like I got a really good impression of the city from taking this tour. It was an amazing way to explore a large city from ground level – we covered far more of the city than I could have walked in a day and took in a lot of London’s most famous landmarks.

We were given the option of a men’s or ladies’ bike and were guided by Birgit, who kept us all safe and together despite us being quite a large group. Birgit was incredibly knowledgeable with lots of facts and interesting history that brought the landmarks to life.

We covered a lot of ground and really got to know the areas we explored. We saw the icons of London, like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Lambeth Bridge, cycled through several parks including Hyde Park, and were given the chance on Carnaby Street to lock up our bikes and go for a 30 min solo walk or visit a café. My favorite part was the Banksy Tunnel – as we biked through we could watch graffiti artists designing on the walls, and the ceiling was amazing! Overall, this was a great way to see the main icons of London in just a few hours.

    A scenic, relaxed bike tour

    Brighton Coastal Bike Tour

I really enjoyed my tour with Duncan – he is very knowledgeable about the area and was friendly and welcoming to the whole group. He interacted with everyone and made sure we were all having a great time the whole way.

This was the coastal tour so as well as the Brighton Pavilion and Brighton Pier we had a lovely ride along the seafront and under the cliffs, which are beautiful. The shoreline along the route to Rottingdean is very atmospheric, and we also got to see the iconic main beach.

We were a large group but Duncan kept us together. I really enjoyed cycling around the marina and taking in lots of traditional English seaside views. Overall, it was a really scenic and enjoyable trip.

A tour of appreciation for authentic Holland

Dutch Hanseatic Cities, Harbor Towns & Natural Wonders by Bike and Boat

This trip should be your one-stop-shop when seeking to experience authentic Holland. We spent a week sailing along the country's grand rivers, watching the authentic Dutch countryside drift by outside the window and biking out to discover the stunning architecture of the historical Hanseatic towns, as well as Amsterdam on the first and final day.

Our tour guides, Hans and Tom, almost felt like family by the end of the trip. Hans was upbeat and full of passion and Tom was full of recommendations when we explored each town.

The atmosphere on board the boat was great and the staff were exceptional. All of them were friendly, full of fun, and helpful so mealtimes were brilliant (as was the food). The boat was extremely clean and our cabins were very comfortable.

The biking itself was very enjoyable and at a pace that meant everyone could enjoy the experience of cycling and soaking up the rural views. My favourite sections were in the atmospheric forests with the dancing trees - we went in autumn so the colours were incredible!

Overall, this was a relaxing and comfortable way to bike and boat through Holland.

    Incredibly interesting tour

Creole Neighborhoods Bike Tour New Orleans

I learned so much about New Orleans by taking this tour, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the city - it will help you get the most out of your stay. We cycled from the center to the Mississippi River, where our guide told us all about the founding of the city. We took a varied route through the very exciting neighborhoods that make up NOLA, keeping to cycle paths so we felt safe all the way. Each neighborhood had its own story to tell and our guide was amazing at describing the different histories and cultures; voodoo, Senegalese, Creole etc.

Halfway through, we stopped at a really nice local cafe for the chance to get a cold drink, and then we carried on to the cemetery. It was fascinating to hear about the different burial methods and to walk around the grand tombs.

Eric was a really engaging, genuine guide who got to know us and made sure we were hydrated and entertained the whole way.

I'd fully recommend taking this tour. If you do it early on in your trip to New Orleans, you'll really be set up with an appreciation of its history and culture, and you'll have time to act on your guide's local recommendations for places to eat and see live jazz music.

    Diverse & Educational Biking Experience

    Classic Frankfurt Bike Tour

This was a fun, diverse, and educational biking experience which taught me a lot about the history and culture of Frankfurt. From the get-go, Simon was an energetic, friendly, and enthusiastic guide who led me across one of Frankfurt's famous bridges and immediately began divulging the history of the city (he was born and raised in the suburbs). As one of Germany's 'newest' cities (having been badly bombed during WWII), Frankfurt has 19 out of 20 of Germany's tallest buildings and is nicknamed 'Mainhattan' because of its skyscrapers.

Between the newer buildings, the banks (which make Frankfurt Germany's financial center), and the parks, Frankfurt has a lot of beautiful architecture that I enjoyed visiting, from the cathedral to Goethe's house, the Town Hall to the Opera House.

Simon was friendly and clearly knew his stuff when it came to the city. The e-bikes were fantastic quality.

I would highly recommend this tour to those wanting to get to know Frankfurt from a local perspective - it's perfect for discovering Frankfurt's architectural gems.

Efficient way to get to know NYC

Best of New York E-Bike Tour

The tour guide was knowledgeable and the route provided an efficient way to see many of the main sights in NYC in less than half a day - perfect for my short trip to the city.

There were a couple of breaks throughout the tour to take photographs and wander independently, with the tour guide always available to answer questions.

This is a great tour if you don't have a lot of time to explore the city, or to do early on to 'get your bearings'.

One of the best researched and organized tours I've ever been on

    Best of Catalonia Cycle Touring

Creative Catalonia selected absolutely the best routes through beautiful countryside and seaside scenery as well as taking one through picturesque villages and selecting really great hotels in interesting cities and villages. We had a great variety of scenery and experiences. Additionally their equipment was great and their maps and instructions were very clear. Their assessments of distances and difficulty were right on and they kept us on small farm roads or streets with very few cars as much as possible. They also provided one garmen for every group that had the route programmed into it. It was impossible to get lost. They were also helpful with he small changes we wanted to make and had great suggestions for restaurants and other experiences along the way.

    This is an exceptional outfitter.

Best of both worlds: Italian language and cycling in Italy

Learning Italian from the Saddle: Language Classes & the Coast of Apulia

What a fantastic tour! The rides were perfect and the teachers/guides were outstanding. Giovanna and Carla were the best Italian teachers, patient and helpful. The riding itinerary was challenging yet doable for all participants. The idyllic terrain from Otranto to Lecce showcased the Salento region and the spectacular views of both Adriatic and Ionian Seas completed the picture. All accommodations were great as well as the scrumptious Italian food and Orecchiette cooking class. Visits to various beaches helped to relax everyone along the route. An ideal tour for anyone interested in learning Italian and enjoying the scenery along the way while riding a bicycle (bici).

    Beautiful Ireland

Ireland’s West Cork on Tranquil Lanes Following the Coast

Best and healthy way to discover the beauty of Ireland and meet the irish people and their gentleness. Don was very accommodating and kept the tour fitting our level. The hotels were comfortable and the food delicious.

    Danube Ride

Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)

A great ride. The hotels were wonderful. The scenery was beautiful. The directions for the route were good. A little more detail for directions to the hotel each day could be improved slightly. But the trip was awesome. Bikes were new and well tuned, and luggage was delivered flawlessly each day.
