Fun cycle trip in an area new to us
Andalusia: Southern Spain
The trip was a wonderful introduction to Spain. We enjoyed the challenge of the cycling, especially the wonderful dirt trails in the parks, Via Verde etc. There was a good mix of gravel roads, sand trails & urban cycle lanes. The Spanish motorists are very courteous & there is a wonderful bike trail system especially in bigger cities. The hotels (other than the one in Jerez which was a great disappointment & was not actually in the direction book or on the GPS!!) were excellent. We would have loved to have spent more time in Arcos del la Fronterra & less in Jerez. All other places were delightful & will have us returning. We definitely found having the GPS made a big difference. Bikes were okay & when we needed help (as a key got stuck in the battery ), we had good assistance.

Fun trip as an introduction to cycling in Spain
Andalusia: Southern Spain
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Had excellent instructions in a booklet. Having the GPS was good, although it would have been good to have a bigger screen as it was hard to read in the sunshine. There were 4 of us on the trip & we all felt the daily distance was good on the e-bikes.

A view of Europe that we couldn't get any other way
Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
My husband and I chose the self-guided option, and we're happy with that choice -- more flexibility with pace and timing.
Our tour dates were in early May, and this was probably both good and bad. We had some drizzle and a couple days were a bit chilly. On the other hand, the bike path was probably less busy than it will be later. I'm not a fast rider and I'm not comfortable with a lot of other riders whizzing by me. And I suspect that we got upper-end lodging, even though I'd selected middle-grade, because the hotels were eager to have bookings.
I hadn't been able to do all the training I should have, so I opted for an e-bike and it was a very good decision. I still got a workout but I wasn't pushed so hard that I couldn't enjoy the ride.
Couple of tips:
- If you're coming over from the US, give yourself a couple of days to recover before you start the ride. And give yourself a day at the end of the ride before there's anything you have to do.
- Make sure that everybody in your group has all the necessary information about destination, contacts, etc. It's possible to get separated from the others, even when you're trying not to.
- Make sure that you're comfortable with a bit of traffic -- oncoming riders, you passing people, people passing you. The other bikers on the path trust you to do the right thing and stay in your lane, so be sure that you can. When I wasn't confident about this, I got off and walked my bike.- What was the date of your tour?

One of the Best Experiences Ever-Just "do it"
Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest
This is the perfect way to experience some of the wonderful regions along the Danube. My husband I decided to do the cycle trips on offer that went from the beautiful German town of Passau to the amazing City of Budapest.This was a combination of two 7 day options. We were so pleased we put these together. The Biketours.com group were very organised and helpful and made the arrangements seamless from the booking on the website to the delivery of bikes and vouchers at our first meeting point. Our bikes were in great condition and the maps and advice was excellent.The trip itself was a very easy cycle way and I would advise anyone with a desire to do this to-"just go and do it"- you will not regret it. Use this company as they managed out hotel bookings, out luggage transfers and were available on the end of the phone if needed. We chose a self guided option and did not regret that at all.

A cycling adventure
Treasures of the Donegal Coast
It was great to be cycling on the scenic backroads of county Donegal. The daily mileage was not too long so that we could do short recommended side trips or not be out too long if the weather was less than ideal. Staying 2 nights in Carrick allowed us to have our free day to enjoy a pedal to Slieve League. Staying 2 nights in Ardara meant we could pedal out to the Maghera strand to see the beach and caves and still have energy for the Corner Pub and listen to great Irish music.

On the bonnie bonnie banks...
Loch Lomond to Edinburgh: Lakes & Valleys of Scotland
The company was very accommodating! We attended the Scottish Wild Foods Festival before the start of our tour and this just made the trip! We were shuttled from our hotel to the start of the tour at the Hotel in Balloch on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and pretty much from there had the smoothest trip! We had rain, yes, but we had the appropriate gear and we were in Scotland!!! The route took us past all sorts of gems, castles, distilleries, standing stones, stone circles, historical sites, gravesites, and amazing eateries. The hotel choices were top-notch! We loved every hotel each was different, unique, and had character (but not too much character!). The drivers who transported our luggage were prompt, attentive, and helpful. We really could not have enjoyed ourselves more. We found all sorts of treasures to stop and admire along the way, botanical gardens, ruins, waterfalls, and ancient archeological sites. Wow! I have fallen in love with Scotland! The train back to Edinburg at the end was perfect the station was close to our final hotel and the driver was there to collect our bikes literally right as we pulled in. When we arrived in Edinburg, the hotel was so close to Waverly station, so easy!
The one suggestion I would make to make the trip a little more stress-free...Puncture-resistant tire liners and "slime tubes" just switch them out before you start off on your journey. We did have a couple of flats, but we had spares, a pump, and a puncture kit, however just started off in a nice dry and warm place by switching out the tubes and putting in some liners. That was really the only thing I wish I'd had. Note: I did bring my own saddle (Terry Butterfly Ti gel) and the bike shop switched that out for me as well as my own clipless pedals. I also had rain shoe covers (which many folx stopped me to ask where to buy them). I was comfortable, dry, and warm. Could not have been a better trip! Amazing cycling through beautiful landscapes & small towns
Cycling Spain's Ebro River
The Rioja self-guided cycling tour was amazing! Our group of 5 friends were a mix of varying levels from sport cyclists and occasional cyclists – and we all enjoyed the route, especially the first few days biking through remote roads with few if any car traffic. Even the last two days where we were biking with more cars was not bad since we had designated bike lanes and the drivers were all very kind in giving us plenty of space.
Highlights were cycling through the canyons and along the Ebro River, stopping by small towns for pintxos, and enjoying the homemade meals especially by chef Alberto at Hotel Romanca and the lovely family at Posada Molino del Canto. The beautiful Hospederia de los Parajes was also a wonderful end to wrap-up our week-long trip.
My husband & I have been on several cycling trips and by far, the road bikes provided by IberoCycle were of the best quality. The bikes definitely made the cycling tour that much more enjoyable, especially with the daily climbs. The tour is listed as a Level 2 but compared to a prior Level 2 BikeTours.com tour in Italy/Croatia, the steep climbs made it feel more like a higher Level 2. All in all though, it was still doable even for our most beginner of cyclists (friend who hadn't been on a bike for 5 years!)
Overall, highly recommended!

Trip of our lives
Danube Bike Path 8 Nights (Upscale Lodging)
This trip exceeded all expectations. My wife and I gave this to ourselves as an anniversary present, and it was a great choice. We are both in our 60s and reasonably fit, and this tour was at exactly the right pace. All the stops along the Danube were amazing. Passau, Linz, Melk, Tulln and of course, the beautiful city of Vienna. All the hotel arrangements were excellent, the maps and trail guides were good, and the bikes were in great condition. I highly recommend this trip to any couple who needs an adventurous trip that can still be romantic. I especially liked the wine country around Durnstein. We will definitely take more of these bike tours.

The Family trip of a lifetime!
Tauern Bike Path (Krimml-Passau)
My husband and I did this self guided tour two different times in the past. We loved it so much that this time we wanted to share the experience with our entire family: our four adult children and their spouses and our nine grandchildren, ages 9 through 21. There were 19 of us and we all had a fabulous time. We shortened the trip to just biking from Krimml to Salzburg on a 6-night tour.
We did this tour in June of 2022. The tour. company graciously arranged for a bus to take us from Salzburg to Krimml at the start of the tour. Even that was fun for the group. On the bike ride, everyone enjoyed stops for apple strudel, swimming in the lake, riding the gondola on the ski hill, the hike to Krimml waterfall and much more. Every day we were surrounded by the most amazing beauty. The kids and teens were never bored. 22 miles a day was just right for our group and we stayed together in a long line. We opted for a night in Zell am See and that was the favorite overnight - a beautiful town on a beautiful lake.
We were blessed with perfect weather every day. One evening it rained and we found a bowling alley right in our hotel so that was fun for everyone. We highly recommend this tour.

Great Biking Trip in Andalusia
Andalusia: Southern Spain
The biking trip was fantastic. It was our first time doing a biking trip and this experience was wonderful. Everyone who helped us was truly great. I had many questions before signing up and after. The personnel in the United States were patient and informative. The man who delivered our bikes was truly a wonderful and helpful person. We were on a self-guided tour and we had trouble getting out of Sevilla and he went out of his way to assist us and make sure we were on the right track. The bikes were absolutely great. We are both 65 years old and consequently decided to use e-bikes. The GPS was a must and incredibly helpful as was the guidebook presented to us upon arrival in our first hotels. The hotels by and large were excellent. Maybe one exception was the one in Jerez. The route was well thought out and incredibly diverse. One day biking on farming roads, dirt roads, the via Verde ( an old rail-trail), one day amongst estuaries heading into Cadiz. It was an unbelievable breathtaking way to see the country. We met so many lovely people along the way in small town bars and restaurants. The day after we turned in the bikes we wanted to start a new biking trip.

Beautiful Ride in Italy’s Wine Country
Piedmont Region: The Italian Garden of Eden
We had a wonderful ride through wine country. The route was nicely designed with stops in lovely towns and comfortable hotels. We used E-Bikes, so for long ascents, it was not a problem. Before the trip we upgraded our hotel in Asti and we were told by others that was a wise move. It was a wonderful way to see the and experience the country. The route had us go through small villages and farms. We were on secondary roads and bike paths for 95% of the time, only short times with a little car traffic.
The first two days were flat rides to Pinerolo and Saluzzo through farms. The remainder of the trip was hilly with some fun descents. It was a great trip!!- What was the date of your tour?

Beyond All Expectations
Amsterdam to Bruges: Cycling through South Holland and Zeeland
This trip was SO MUCH FUN. My partner and I are not experienced cyclers (just recreational cyclers), and this was our first long distance bike trip. It had sounded like a brilliant idea months earlier, but when the day came we were a bit nervous and wondered what we'd gotten ourselves into. When we met our local contact, Pieter, in Abcoude, he put us right at ease. He kindly explained the GPS, maps, and bikes to us and assured us we could contact him if needed. He was funny and charming and we liked him very much. We set off through Holland and were so charmed by the beautiful countryside, medieval towns, delicious food, and friendly people. And we were thrilled with the hotel choices -- each one was stylish and comfortable (especially Villa Augustus in Dordrecht) with great restaurants either in the hotel or very nearby, and our luggage was always waiting for us in our room when we arrived after the day's ride. Holland is a great place to bike as a) it's flat, and b) the bike paths are (almost always) separate from the roads, making it safe and easy to navigate. Arriving in Bruges at the end of our trip felt like a dream.
Overall we were very impressed with biketours. They thought of everything and made it easy for us to just show up and ride! We will definitely do another trip with biketours.com

Better than I expected!
Cycling and Cooking in Tuscany
Our guide,GiGI, was fabulous. He knew everyone's style and accommodated each of us. Loved the cooking in a homey kitchen. The restaurants we were taken to were in small local towns, and the food was fabulous!

The mose unique trip we have ever done
Best of Catalonia Cycle Touring
First time experiencing Spain on a bike ! Trails were a little hard to find even with GPS as my husband and I are not good a navigating. But we loved the challenge.
