First time “boat and bike” but not the last!
South Dalmatia Bike/E-bike and Boat
We are in our 60’s and are not avid bikers. We are active but live in a flat part of the world. I searched the internet and chanced upon this trip with the intent of biking around the islands in Croatia.
It was perfect for us. We had the opportunity to see parts of 5 islands that we would never have seen island hopping on the ferries. Our guides helped to elevate the trip by educating us throughout our adventure.
The boat: very comfortable, clean, AC helped, awesome food-nice variety, kind and thoughtful staff including the captain who gave my husband a tour of the engine room. Additionally, we had the opportunity to jump off the stern and swim in the Adriatic. The common areas allowed folks(21 of us) to congregate in a variety of places….sun deck up top, enclosed dining area, open dining/socializing area and additional bow , stern, port or starboard places. There were bars and clips to hang clothing to dry. We also brought our own elasticized laundry line which was nice.
The food: daily breakfast had a nice variety from yogurt, fruit and granola to eggs, cheeses, bread, veggies, bacon and sausages. The chef could accommodate a couple of folks who had some dietary needs. Sometimes we had lunch or dinner on the boat and a couple of days we had all 3 meals. The food was great and we did NOT lose weight despite our daily energy expenditure!
The crew: kind, always smiling, hard working and willing to help if they could.
The bikes: E-bikes are the best. They made biking up the hilly parts a breeze. One can work as much or as little as desired. One person chose to use a gravel bike…that is not for everyone but our guy was a biking beast!
Free time/other activities: there is plenty of opportunity to take a siesta if needed. The pace is not grueling at all. On the one long day, we had a lunch stop for several hours which included some swim time. There were 3 guided tours at different towns. These were nice to help get a historical perspective as the islands are loaded with history( Diocletian, Marco Polo, Romans, Greeks, aquaducts, midieval castles, etc).
The guides: as mentioned above, they were awesome. Both were from the Dalmatian area and were very knowledgeable. We felt very safe in their hands. Their communication with us was stellar. We always knew what to expect(daily schedules, length and difficulty of rides, bike riding safety tips)and were given recommendations of restaurants, beaches , bars or other places of interest at each port.
We loved the trip and look forward to another with this company. The Magellan crew has set a high bar!!!

Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
Rides were well chosen; route booklet detailed; food, service and staff on boat all excellent. Varied terrain of forest, towns, vineyards made for interesting biking. Europe knows how to accommodate bikers; RadReisen knows how to cater to them. Fab trip.

AMAZING TRIP ON THE DANUBE

THIS BIKE AND BARGE TRIP ON THE DANUBE WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. RICHIE WAS WONDERFUL AND AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. THE CREW ON OUR BARGE WAS SO ATTENTIVE AND FUN TO BE WITH. THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THE BARGE WAS OLDER, BUT IT IS BEING RETIRED SO ALL IS GOOD FOR THE FUTURE.

One of our favorite vacations
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique I (and reverse)
We had an absolutely awesome time. Accommodations, equipment, and staff were all great. We also had perfect weather and a wonderful group of co-travelers. Would do a vacation like this again in a heart beat.
Only thing that would make it even better, would be to have a masseuse on board!

Terrific introduction to bike touring
Bruges – Amsterdam by Bike and Boat
From the first moment to the last we had a great time. Thirteen riders and a great guide made for a splendid week touring the countryside between Brugge and Amsterdam. The pace was perfect with plenty of stops for food and drink. Our boat was nicely appointed and the on board chef made a different gourmet meal every night. We recommend a guided tour though we haven't tried a self guided tour yet.

Coastal Islands of Southern Dalmatia
Beautiful countryside and great biking. I loved every moment of it. We had a wonderful group on our boat. I particularly loved the long downhills into the towns (not as thrilled with the climbs out!).

20th Anniversary Trip
Cultural Splendors of the Peloponnese and Saronic Isles E-bike and Boat
Our expectations were exceeded. We knew we would love to see the countryside this way, and indeed it was fabulous to see the more remote areas that most tourists never experience. And the staff blew us away. I felt so cared for. Every need was accommodated. The staff had such a positive attitude which is noteworthy for how hard they work. Amazing scenery in a part of the world I did not know about.
German Wine Country along the Saar & Mosel Rivers
This was a week long immersion in German culture in the Mosel /Saar river valleys. The rides were slow, easy rides on the riverbanks on dedicated bike paths alongside steep, wine grape orchards. Every day we would pull into a tiny picturesque German village. The Zwaan was our home base boat and we grew to really love the little barge, the food served and the group of new friends we made. Amazing Dutch crew that went out of their way to make us all feel at home. The guide was funny, easy going and very helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from Bruges to Amsterdam aboard the Magnifque IV. The crew was amazing and very responsive and charming. First cycling trip ~ but not our last!
National Parks of Dalmatia by Bike/E-bike and Boat
Cycling along the coast and through the Dalmatian Islands was a great introduction to Croatia for us. April seemed like the perfect time of year for our cycling adventure ~ the weather was terrific and the crowds were minimal, although the swimming was cool! The boat was very comfortable, from our private room to the salon and upper deck. The bikes we used were in very good condition. The guides were very friendly, knowledgable and quick to attend to anyone's specific needs.

Croatia is beautiful and can be challenging for biking. Ebikes made this challenge achievable. Boat was beautiful and comfortable. Food was excellent. Crew and staff were just great - friendly and capable. Guides were energetic and very knowledgeable. Great way to see Croatia. Only complaint was be unable to use credit card for drinks on board. Made calculating cash (and then converting to euros) much harder. Can't see why they don't accept credit cards for that.

Wonderful Experience

My wife and I had a wonderful experience on this bike tour of Belgium and Netherlands. The barge itself was very nice, and the crew and guides were even better. Every night the chef exceeded our expectations with a great dinner. The best part were the friendships and fun we had with the other folks on the tour.

Very well organized and planned
Amsterdam – Gouda – Bruges by Bike and Boat
It was very well organized and people on the boat and in the group were really super nice. Each day was a feast at night, and a treat to the eyes when it comes to biking. We went through a lot of pretty open fields, historic sights and picturesque landscapes. It was like riding through a wallpaper. It was quite easy to finish it, given the flat terrain, and was not a really hard tour.

Tulip and Windmill Barge Tour
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
This was my third bike trip with Bike Tours.Com., but my first guided tour. Sietse, was an excellent guide, who kept us on a schedule but allowed us time to see things, gave us adequate coffee and lunch breaks. He always told us much information about each place as well as a voluntary walk at night in each town that we docked at, one does not get that on an unguided tour. Our chef, Nicole, was excellent, who I appreciated being on a gluten-free diet. The meals were healthy as well as delicious. The biking trip had very good trails with lots of canals and wildlife as well as windmills and of course the beautiful tulips, tulips, and tulips!
