Trip of a lifetime
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
A bike-and-boat tour is truly the perfect way to experience the beautiful Danube! Our barge, The Vivienne, was spectacular, and the crew and guides were absolutely wonderful throughout the trip.
We cycled mainly along flat, scenic bike paths, making it easy to relax, enjoy the views, and take in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Each day brought something new, from charming towns and stunning landscapes to fascinating castle ruins and historic sites.
What made the experience even more special was learning about the region’s rich and fascinating history from our incredibly knowledgeable guides. Their stories and insights brought the places we visited to life and made every day feel like an adventure.
The combination of cycling during the day and returning to the comfort of The Vivienne in the evening was fantastic. It was the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, beautiful scenery, and history. An unforgettable way to explore the Danube — we absolutely loved every moment!

Easy, fun and informative.
All of Zagreb Bike Tour
Fernando was a great guide, very knowledgeable and relaxed, and the ride itself is pretty easy. In Rome we went with ebikes but it's really not necessary here.

Generally very good
Salzburg to Vienna, Lakes Option
Staff and the route were just excellent. The hotels were great. I would have a suggestion for a local company, but it does not detract from the experience.

Bucket List Trip
Dolomites to Venice Along the Old Dolomites Railway Track
At 72, this was likely my most memorable vacation and I am looking to find another before I get too old to continue these. The trip description was very accurate and we stuck to the plan. Although “self-guided” it would be impossible without the guidance app provided. It is essential to take a phone holder for the bike to be able to follow the app. Best to put phone in airplane mode as suggested. There were around 8 other participants on same tour package. We communicated and kept track of each other and understand that my wife and I were the only participants that biked the entire 200 mile route without taking the train. The rout avoids major highways and provides bike trails and low use roads when possible. All accommodations were really nice and accommodating for e bikes. This is not “just a rail trail” but the e bike provided was sufficient and handled each day well. First class equipment and support. It was unseasonably hot, even at high elevations. Great trip!!

Great fun in the Netherlands
Amsterdam Windmills E-Bike Tour to Zaanse Schans
What a way to experience cycling in the Netherlands! Modern e-bikes and a knowledgeable guide. We got to hear a passionate miller, Maurice, speak about operating a water mill and Sebastian was an excellent guide! The overall experience was worth it.

Super Fun Tour
Terceira Island Mount Brazil E-Bike Tour
We are a couple in their 60’s and we loved our E bike tour with Andre. We are bike riders but this was our first time using an E bike. The bikes we were given were in nice condition . Our guide was helpful, informative and shared some interesting history about the Island. The natural beauty of Monte Brasil was amazing ! Great tour, highly recommend.

Superb cycling experience from Porto to Obidos
Portugal's Coastal Splendor from Porto to Lisbon
Looked after very well from start to finish by Alberto and Ivo from Top Bike Tours Portugal, Helen and I enjoyed a superb 6 day cycling experience from Porto to Obidos in early May. Starting with a comprehensive briefing and supported by an (essential) guided departure out of Porto towards the coastal path, the overall experience was excellent. The supplied e-bikes were perfect for the route and had plenty of battery capacity. This included a 90km day when we chose to detour off the designated route to visit the gorgeous town of Aveiro (the 'Venice' of Portugal). The navigation app worked perfectly, which included being directed to our hotel at the end of each day's cycling. And we successfully followed up many of the recommended restaurants supplied in the information pack. Cycling down the Atlantic coast in early May was near perfect timing: not too hot and very little rain. Highly recommended!

Slay Down the Danube
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
An incredible way to see the Danube and explore the country side of Germany and Austria. Unfortunately due to weather our boat was stuck in Vienna, but our cruise director Leslie made sure we hit every spot on the itinerary and organised tours to take us into Bratislava and Budapest. The meals were incredible onboard, and always served with a smile thanks to Khatti and Mohammed. Our room attendant Nabil always made sure our cabin was well kept and cleaned it so efficiently. It was incredible to have the sailors not only guiding us safely down the Danube but sorting out bikes for us everyday. Everyone on board was incredible and it was an awesome experience. The cycling app to guide you around was so easy to use and the routes were so easy to ride on.

Record Low Water Levels on Danube
Danube Capitals Bike & Boat Tour
Despite the disappointment of having the itinerary substantially changed because of the record low water levels on the Danube River, we were impressed that the crew was able to pull off a really nice trip with only about ten days' notice. They provided nice bike routes for each day, the dockings were at interesting places, the meals were amazing, and the tour guide Jurgen did an amazing job of pulling it all off.

What can I say. . . .if one ride is good how about another. . . swiss bike routes clearly marked and a "dirt/gravel" road is smooth as glass.

Unique activity from Dubrovnik, made better by wine!!
Dubrovnik Bike Tour with Wine Tasting
We were so excited for this excursion and it lived up to our expectations. Igor was truly the best guide - he was so easy to chat with, shared so many facts about the region with us, and also was the best bike support. Two members of our group were not strong bikers, and he helped give confidence for the ~1-2 hour ride. Even better than that - he took photos of us while biking, helping our Strava posts after!! On some of the tough uphills, Igor was a great coach for the gear changes and general motivation. My legs were burning but it was fun.
This trip was so easy (with the exception of some uphills on the bike...) from being picked up right outside of our apartment to having the bikes set up for us, and finally getting a really cool tasting at the winery. We had a great time at the winery and really enjoyed talking with Nico. He was equally intelligent in his realm about Rakya and wine, and we really had a great experience there. I brought back a few bottles for friends and family after, which I'm very excited to forget to share with them...
Overall a great trip. While we expected a cutesy girly ride through wineries with a glass in hand, this was an even cooler adventure. We started off with the ~1-2 hour bike ride, which then made the winery a tasty reward. Plus, lots of food there to fill our bellies!! Highly recommend if you have an extra day in Dubrovnik and want to do something adventurous.

Fabulous Way To Experience Provence!
Cycling Paradise of Provence - to and from Avignon
We had a wonderful 6 day self-guided cycle through Provence - the Biketours organisation was outstanding as were the e-bikes we hired. Our bags were collected on time every time and delivered to our next hotel with no issues. We downloaded our GPS files onto Komoot - the app worked brilliantly and the maps were detailed and accurate- 2 of our party downloaded the maps which ensured we stayed on the right path! We particularly enjoyed spending 2 nights in each town as it meant we didn't have to repack our bags every day. Most of the routes took us along lovely and well maintained cycle paths so we did not have to navigate too much through busy towns or big roads with lots of traffic. The ride was moderate as described - not too easy nor too difficult which left us feeling we had done enough exercise for the day without being exhausted. We took the standard package for the first and last hotels but upgraded the middle hotel (to Hotel Henri) which was well worth the extra spend as it was outstanding. The other 2 hotels, Hotel Central (Avignon) and Hotel L'Amandiere (St Remy) were decent - the rooms clean and spacious, however the staff were unfriendly. Hotel Central is well positioned allowing easy access to the old town. Hotel L'Amandiere is a 10min walk from town but has a very nice swimming pool - a great feature given the 40deg temps we were riding in! Just beware, if you arrive earlier than the 3pm check in, and you would like to use the pool, they are going to charge you an early check-in fee of around EUR25/room. All in all, a fantastic experience and one I would highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed being in the beautiful countryside and cycling up to the medieval villages without having to fight the traffic or the crowds.

Great way to see a whole different part of France
Atlantic Coast of France
Fascinating and beautiful area of France. I had already done a Bike and Barge trip in France and a hiking trip, all in the more central areas of the country. And been to Paris. But this trip, along the Atlantic coast, was stupendous. The bike paths were well marked and you are either biking along the coast or through vineyards. We upgraded the accommodations and all hotels were fabulous. My only thought is that this might have been better as a guided trip rather than self guided. We kept feeling like there was so much we were cycling through that would have been better with a guide. Finally - local tour company provided great bikes and their direction system (RoadBook) worked great.
