Great Trip
Umbria’s Green Valleys From the Pilgrimage Town of Assisi
Hotels (upgraded) + Maps and Navigation Story + Overall service (Paulo) were good. That plus the charms of Umbria (in particular during the Jazz festival in Perugia made our trip very enjoyable

Fantastic trip!
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique III (and reverse)
The crew, barge and guides were all top notch and the food was really good. Beautiful bike routes took us through lovely local scenery! Enjoyed walking tours in Antwerp and Bruges. Guides were super flexible and offered different options on a day with bad weather. Highly recommend!

A fantastic trip
Lake Constance Bicycle Path
We were very happy with the trip. We enjoyed cycling in the beautiful surroundings of Bodensee. The trip was very well organized and all the hotels very nice. We were there in august, the warmest time of the year and dificulty sleeping at a couple of hotels that did not have AC. Otherwise the trip was super good and great fun. There is friendly atmosphere everywhere, good service and delicious food.I highly recommend this trip. Einar and Margret

Great ride along the river
Strasbourg to Mainz: Imperial Cities and Charming Landscapes Along the Rhine

A Fabulous Trip
UNESCO Sites of Albania
First time biking as a way to visit a country and it was fabulous! I chose Albania as it was still untouched by tourism, the reviews were good, and it looked beautiful. Experiencing this beautiful country and its people while biking through its landscape fufilled my expectations beyond what I could imagine. The scenery was spectacular! And biking is a way to go! Our guide, Arijan and his assistant, Bato, were organized, patient, helpful, informative, and fun! We were in good hands! We had a group of 4 Americans, 4 Brits, and 2 Germans, which resulted in good exchanges and great conversations. I was thrilled with the variety and challenges of the varied terrain, but at age 70 an electric bike made the trip possible and enjoyable. The climbs would have been very difficult without one. I had read some reviews before signing on and took the good and necessary advice of training before going. Without training, this trip would be difficult. The bikes were in good condition and worked well considering a few of the rough roads we encountered. Our guides handled the varied paces of the group very effectively. The hotels were quite adequate with the exception of one mountain guest house, which was minimally adequate. The food was
abundant and very good. I highly recommend this tour company and the tour of Albania specifically! You will not be disappointed! It was a most memorable travel experience!- What was the date of your tour?

Stunningly Beautiful
Bicycle Paths of the Dolomites (based in one hotel)
This was my third trip with Bike Tours and it did not disappoint! The setting at Hotel Laurin in Toblach, Italy was stunningly beautiful! Every ride surrounded you with mountain views. Most of the paths were paved and well marked. There were only a few moments of confusion regarding the path to take. Hotel Laurin was very accommodating and served excellent gourmet meals every night and a hearty breakfast in the morning. At the hotel, there were several saunas and a steam room as well as an outdoor pool that awaited you at the end of your ride. The only concern I had was the initial confusion around the maps and rides that were self-guided as well as how these particular e-bikes operated (the e-bikes were great once you figured out the mechanics of them). An orientation by the rental bike company, Fun Active Tours, that provided the maps and bikes, would have been most helpful; and, I was not the only guest who thought an orientation would be helpful. I also had a problem with my attempt to rent a helmet from Fun Active Tours that responded in a less than accommodating way. However, Bike Tours considered my situation and responded most helpfully. In all, it was a fabulous trip which I would highly recommend! Elaine Kubicki

Best of Catalonia Cycle Touring
Great route, the cities we rode thru and old rail trails were safer than city/country roads. The guide was fantastic with educational info, language skills and expertise on coffee and lunch/dinner stops.

Efficient Fun
Milan Hidden Treasures Bike Tour
“Efficient” may not be the first thing people aspire to while on vacation but hear me out: My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our bike ride through northern Milan with Pauline. She took great care to make sure we were always safe. This was important to me because while my husband is accustomed to biking around New York City, I am not an avid biker so the safety aspect allowed me to relax and enjoy what was a fantastic experience. We saw so many neighborhoods we never would have otherwise, beautiful old homes and streets that were utterly charming. She also shared the amazing crypt of Giuseppe Verdi. As huge opera fans this was a real and unexpected treat! Being on bikes allowed us to efficiently see Chinatown and also the Monumental Cemetery . There was a huge concert taking place in Sforza park. Being on bikes meant we could see the park without being bogged down by the crowds. Pauline took the time to share fascinating history along the way as well which really rounded out the experience. At the end she even helped us get a taxi. We highly recommend this experience. Not just for the efficiency but mostly for the fun! Traveling by bike is a wonderful way to explore Milan and Pauline is the perfect guide.

Great, fun, educational 3 hour bike tour
Best of Brussels Bike Tour
Our guide Ahmed really did make the whole experience great. So knowledgeable, fun and took us to some lovely neighbourhoods we would never have seen or been to. Great value. Lovely stop for frites or a beer/glass of wine. Highly recommend. Would do the same tour when back. Electric bikes did help on a couple of hills but weren't really needed. Thumbs up.

UNESCO Sites of Albania
It was the perfect mix between challenging, beautiful, educational and pure enjoyment!! Our guide was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. There was great a mechanic for bike maintenance when there were any issues. Not only did I learn a great deal about the country I met a number of wonderful people throughout the trip. Food and lodging was great.

Croatia At Its Best
Split to Dubrovnik: The Islands and Coastline of Croatia
Extremely well organized; guides were knowledgeable and clearly loved Croatia. Bikes were comfortable and the day trips offered stunning vistas. The lunch at the organic farm was like something featured in Bon Appetit. White water rafting was an added bonus. The boat crew were courteous and professional; room was small but comfortable. Nothing but positive memories.

Quiet roads and beautiful scenary
Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
What a great way to see the sites along the Danube! Starting out the last week of September, the bike trail was very quiet. I enjoyed the solitude and how easy it was to just stop along the way and take in the sites. While the trail was nearly empty, the agricultural fields were busy with harvest activities.
Logistically, everything worked great. The accommodations were all nice and directions to them clear. My bag arrived at every stop.
I would take another tour with BikeTours!

An excellent ride; well planned!
Venice to Florence: From Rialto Across the Sea to Ponte Vecchio
One piece of advice: Insect Repellent! The stretch through the Po River delta was thick with mosquitos.
The route, logistics and equipment were all great. The hotels varied a bit, but were all at least adequate, and some were quite interesting and/or in interesting locations.
While most of the route is on quiet roads or paths, there are short segments that have quite heavy traffic. So being comfortable riding along fast-moving traffic is, I think, important.

50Th B-Day Celebration
Tuscany and Umbria: Cycling in the Heart of Italy
It was an amazing trip with excellent weather. The rides were mostly off the beaten path, through rolling terrain with steep uphill climbs to various towns/forts. The hotels were great, we upgraded. We ate locally and did not purchase the dinner with the room package. I will say, we are in very good shape and bike 3-4 days per week at home. It was a difficult ride at times, especially getting into Orvietto, Todi, Cortona, Assisi and Chuisi. Very, Very steep climbs, but well worth the effort. The B and B, Antica Gabella, in Castiglione del Lago was our favorite. Givanna was the ultimate host. The hotel in Todi was also amazing with great views and use of a pool if its warm. I highly recommend taking your time through the small towns and site seeing, wine taste and eat off the beaten path. The written maps and Mapsme got us to our destinations with a few u-turns. Next time we will see if we can have an extra day of not riding scattered in, so we can explore more. We also had a few days on the coast prior to riding and then finished in Rome for a few days. It was perfect!

Best bicycle tour company to date!
Castles and Wines of Portugal
This was our 5th self guided tour to date and Portugal's Best Cycling company was the best we have had in customer service. The bikes were perfect for the terrain. We felt safe on all of the routes even the ones that had more traffic than anticipated. All of the hotels were excellent although our personal preference is to stay away from the ones that cater to the large motorcoach tours (we had 2 that fell into that category.) Self-guided is for the adventurous and that is what we got. The dirt tracks were not for the inexperienced. Area had a rough winter and it took some technical riding to manuever safely on them. There were alternative paved routes but where is the fun in that? We added an extra 20 miles on one of our days to ride out to a fortress that was not on our itinerary. It was worth it. I would add pictures but it keeps telling me images are too large. Recommend adding 2 full days in Sintra just to enjoy.
