Great Trip Around Lake Constance with our Three-Year Old Daughter
Lake Constance Bicycle Path
This was our second bicycle tour and we would definitely recommend it! We did the tour with our 3 year-old daughter, who rode along in a child trailer. There are lots of parks and playgrounds along this route, which is primarily a designated cycle path - so it is very kid friendly with only a couple short climbs. We did picnics every day of the tour.
The bikes were excellent. I broke one bike chain but had no problem getting help from a local bike shop, which was listed in the tour materials and next to our hotel. Navigation on this route is pretty straightforward, although you may wish to check your gps on your smart phone in a couple of places near some of the hotels.
The breakfasts and accommodations were excellent, and a few of the hotels were resort-level properties.

A Beautiful 5-Day Ride from Prague to Dresden
Prague to Dresden Along the Vltava & Elbe Rivers
This was our 7th cycle trip with Biketours and one of the most scenic, especially considering the ease of the terrain. We traveled with our 2 daughters, ages 12 and 8, who did well on this route, which is mostly on dedicated and paved cycle ways. I would recommend this trip for anyone looking for routes that are suitable for families with children or for folks who simply want to avoid biking on motorways. The lodging was good to excellent by European standards (even for 4 people), and the boarding (breakfasts) were consistently excellent. The local tour company is one of the best I have seen in terms of their speed of communication and proficiency with technology, as they responded in moments via mobile apps when we had questions and provided detailed GPS navigation instructions. The bikes and gear were all in good condition with no mechanical issues. Bottom line, I would strongly recommend this tour, especially for families.

Lake Constance Bicycle Path
We had a great time on this bike trip. The routes were clearly planned and the hotels were great with very good beds and excellent breakfast. The bike rental place was very well organized with very pleasant technicians to help getting the correct adjustments. Our bikes were both nearly new (2022 and 2023). We had no snafus at all.
One suggestion: allow for at least two extra days after the ride to visit some of the sites that take more time. For example we did have one day left to visit the Pfahlenbauten Museum. We went by ferry across Lake Constance and spend nearly 4 hours at the museum, a very pleasant day. I would have liked a similar day to visit the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen and then visit Insel Mainau, but we were out of time. A lesson for next time.
We visited some beautiful places but the one that capped it all was from the top of a castle in Ueberlingen. It was just gorgeous.- What was the date of your tour?

Great itinerary
Danube Bike Path 5-nights (Active)
From the welcome on Night 1 to the hotels along the way, the trip was well-planned; the guide who did our first night introduction was very thorough and helpful. Luggage pickup/dropoff was timely, which was a relief since we had to bike in the rain 2 days. Beautiful and interesting scenery along the way. Definitely recommend.

Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
The biking was perfect for families, exercise with the ability to stop along the way for food or sights of interest. Hotels were charming, very clean, friendly and the food was great. I am already looking into another bike trip next year with bike tours, perhaps Ireland. Need I saw more.

A summer bicycle ride along the banks of the Danube was great fun: easy biking, clearly marked route, beautiful scenery, friendly locals, what more could you ask? A little knowledge of German is helpful on the self-guided tours, but not necessary.

Wow! - what a fantastic experience gliding down the stunning Danube. The itinerary was first class - our bikes were just great while the accommodation, meals & service on the 'Manon' were all excellent. It really was an experience of a lifetime riding adjacent to the Danube on high quality pathways a lot of the time while also exploring some stunning sights along the way including some gorgeous towns.

Richie from BikeTours.com and the boat staff were just great - helpful, organized, and fun!
The boat is older but being retired. Having said that, other than rough towels that needed replacing, and controlling the temperature in our cabin, the dining, lounge, lido deck, and entertainment were perfect. It's a laid back experience compared to the large ocean cruise ships which created a very 'family-oriented' feel. The scenery, historical sites, and biking in mainly Austria was just great - Austria is very well set-up for biking usually out of any car traffic. Danube biking adventure

Riding along the Danube river through Austria to Vienna was a wonderful experience. Everything was very well organised, from bike collection, through route guidance, accommodation and support. The riding is easy, though on our ride we did encounter some strong head winds. There is spectacular scenery and interesting villages to keep interest up. We thoroughly recommend the bike tour.

Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
It was a wonderful trip and a great way to experience the region. The trails were beautiful and the accommodations were quite charming. On a couple of occasions, the maps didn’t correspond exactly to the locations and in need of updating - meaning, the trail began or ended not exactly at the hotel. But overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this.

Fabulous tour of Southern Germany
Romantic Road and Bavarian Lakes
Delightful tour of the rural countryside outside of Munich. Roads were calm with little traffic and the bike paths were well marked. The written turn-by-turn directions were supplemented by a digital routing app, which greatly helped with navigation during the tour. The hotels were charming with friendly staff and breakfast never disappointed before heading out for our daily ride.

Danube from Linz to Vienna with some Extra
Danube Family Tour 7 Nights
As a family of four (kids aged 10 and 11) we took six days to cover the 230 kilometers needed to pedal from Linz to Vienna. It was a fantastic way to discover beautiful country along one of the most picturesque stretches of European riverfront. 99.9% of the way is paved, and 80% is on dedicated bike paths (the remainder is biking on quiet country roads). With one rest day in the middle, the days represented between 35 and 55 kilometers of biking. Considering our younger one, our daughter, doesn't have the big leg muscles, our average speed was 14 km/h. We would set off between 9 and 10 am, and reach our accommodations in the early afternoon. The 55 kilometer day was a bit hard towards the end, but still very feasible. All hotels were very clean, quiet, with friendly staff and with delicious breakfast spreads included. We would highly recommend this trip, especially if you tag on a few days for culture in Vienna, at the end, as we did. It gave our kids and us the opportunity to have an active family trip in which we all felt a sense of accomplishment. And you don't have to do more than bring your suitcase up to your room and back down! The rest is taken care of. We are extremely happy with this trip. Thanks to BikeTours, and their Austrian associates (Rad Reiss Freunde) for making it all happen at a reasonable price and without a single hiccup! We could not have planned it better ourselves.

Danube Bike Path 8 Nights (Upscale Lodging)
This was our first trip using Biketours.com. We were so impressed. The planning was easy and the company provided many maps and additional information to help navigate each area. The bikes were in great shape, well-suited to the type of riding we were doing along the Danube River. They were comfortable to ride and the addition of saddle and handle bar bags gave us enough room to carry extra clothes/rain gear and lunches/water. The logistics worked smoothly--our luggage arrived on time and usually before we reached each of our hotels each night. We loved this trip so much, we'll be looking into other trips Biketours.com offers. Loved everything about this adventure!
