The ride was relatively easy as hills were limited and the trail was in very good shape. Only a small portion of the ride was on roads with low traffic. The scenery was interesting and varied. The lodging was very nice. The mileage each day was just right

A glorious park to ride through
San Francisco's Golden Gate Park Bike Tour
Not that a sunny day is a requirement but it really makes this place shine. I suggest avoiding this bike ride June - August unless you really like biking in chilly fog and wind. Putting all of those things aside, Golden Gate park is a magical place for a bike ride with a ton of cool history. Make sure you check out Ocean Beach, the tea garden, top of the DeYoung museum tower, Hippy Hill, and I suggest a post ride beer at the Kezar Pub on the east end of Golden Gate Park.

Movie views gallore
Highlights of San Francisco Bike Tour
If you guide knows his way around this can be a very flat ride, if not and you are not a regular cyclist I suggest an e-bike. This tour has tons of views that most of us have seen in movies or on television for years. if you have never been to San Francisco this is a great way to see a lot of it in not too much time. I suggest spending as little time as possible in Fishermans Wharf (it's very touristy and not really what San Francisco is all about). For a fantastic local post ride beer check out Zeitgeist in the Mission. (It's in the Mission on Duboce and Valencia if memory serves.). Zeigeist is local institution that is unlike any beer garden you've ever been to.

Perfect and life changing trip!
Split to Dubrovnik: The Islands and Coastline of Croatia
There is no words to describe this trip! Just amazing! Staff organization just state of the art! Amazing views, history sites, adventure, made by measure, personal treatment, customer oriented, helpful accessible people always trying to do their best to help our perfect trip! They just did it! I am sure we have known the best of Croatia, doing exercise, with great comfort! Thanks a lot!

Biking in Italy in June
Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps
I will not be recommending this trip or your company to anyone. The App was awful: only intermittently in English (otherwise in German) and when I gave 'feedback' I got no response; the App intermittently stopped working and I had to turn my phone off and on to re-boot; the App ATE UP my phone battery (a relativley new iPhone 13 with an otherwise long battery life); any highlights mentioned in the App along a particular day's travel was only a link to something that required internet or phone service (this is ridiculous; this link should have taken me to text within the App just as every other self-guided tour does within their App). The written paper description was poorly done - for some cities the description was how to 'get' into a city and other times the city/town mentioned was only a landmark of progress but this was very confusing. The pedometer on the bike did not work after the first three hours of the 7 day trip. The bikes were way too heavy; surely there is a way to make a durable bike that is at least 2 to 3 kilos lighter. Getting the bike and getting a safety helmet were in different cities!! I would ask for some of my money back if I thought this was possible as I was very disappointed in the trip.

Great trip---but could have been better
Coastal Islands of Southern Dalmatia
This was a great trip, however the lead guide was difficult to get along with ---the second guide was new and fantastic. The lead guide was overly strict and a bit condescending. We did not bike one of the days because he decided since there was rain we would not cycle. That was VERY disappointing. I was on a boat bike trip in Belgium and Netherlands and we biked rain or shine. The time we started biking was a bit late too-----it did not leave much time for for activities after biking.
The saving grace for the trip was the staff was fantastic on the Yolo.
One additional note is that this should be E-bike only....there is no way for a regular bike to keep up with ebikes on the terrain on this trip. One of the passengers insisted on riding a regular bike and on two separate days had to switch bikes with the guide in the rear so he could make it. He should have been told to switch to an ebike by the guides.

Balkans Coast & Mountains
Cycling the West Balkan Triangle
BEAUTIFUL scenery along coasts & mountains. Some challenging climbs mixed with coastal flats. Comfortable accommodations with character. Lunches were delicious & introduced us to some local foods. Alex & Igor provided excellent leadership & support while keeping us laughing with their antics! Always felt safe so could relax & enjoy the views. Would suggest stocking small, medium & large helmets and adding bells on bikes to alert pedestrians.

Great rides, not so great organization
Bicycle Paths of the Dolomites (based in one hotel)
The rides to beautiful valleys was amazing and very enjoyable. The company FunActive was not well organized in terms of transfers to start or end points. Bicycles required better maintenance and bicycles were misplaced by the company on the first day. In hindsight if I was to do this again, I would book my own hotel, rent the bikes for a week and do the routes independently.

The ride through this part of Austria was great - the snow capped mountains, green countryside and friendly people made for a great cycling adventure - the only disappointing aspect was the poor detailing in the maps that were provided.

Lovely countryside tour
Amsterdam to Bruges: Cycling through South Holland and Zeeland
Was so enjoyable biking through the green landscapes and farmlands! The GPS bike routing worked great. We felt safe and comfortable on the paved bike trails. All hotels were just fine; we particularly enjoyed our houseboat accommodations. Three cheers for Tulip Tours excellently planned trip!

Great destinations!
Venice to Trieste and Istria
A highlight of the trip was seeing all the different towns and cities along the way. The route varied from day to day – coastal paths, farmland and former border crossings. We stayed in modern seaside towns, ancient inland towns and cities. We even saw flamingos in the lagoon!
The biking was challenging at times, with strong headwinds the first couple of days. We rode on roads, bike paths, dirt farm roads and raised dike walls. The navigation, directions and app were easy to follow, but many of the arrow stickers should be replaced. Bikes were standard hybrids, but note: step through bikes do not have water bottle cages!
We opted for trains and boats when available. This allowed us to have more time to explore the towns, while still having plenty of biking. Each place we stayed was unique and a couple of the hotels were better than expected. It was nice visit the towns just before the summer season. There were many tourists, but not big crowds.
We would recommend this trip to those who are confident riders. Plan to stay a couple of extra days in Venice and/or Porec if you can, as there is plenty to see and do!

Amazing trip!

We had a wonderful trip with an amazing crew who worked in unison to make all the guests feel welcome. The tour leaders, Tammy and Peter, were fantastic and had intimate knowledge of the communities and sights along the bike routes. Their personal connections provided unique experiences that would otherwise have been missed. They were patient and personable even after their very long days!

Family Fun through Tromsø
Midnight Sun Tromso E-Bike Tour
If you want to experience Tromsø as a local, this tour is a can’t miss experience. Our family of 5 riders ranged in age from 13 to 66. We have biked together before on city tours throughout the U.S. Everyone rated this one a favorite! First, the e-bikes were top of the line and our guide, Espen, took the time to show how to use them properly . He had us practice before beginning the rise. We appreciated his patience and focus on safety. We traveled along the shoreline and through local parks. We were lucky to see groups of families together celebrating Midsommar with bonfires on the beach. It was so special to see this annual event. Our journey continued through the more wooded areas of Tromsø and we all appreciated the e-bikes on some of the tougher hills. We saw many local areas and sites that showcased Tromsø as a great location as a place to live or for travel. Espen was a wonderful guide for this tour! As a native son of Tromsø his love for his community was evident at every stop. The Tromsø tourism board should have him run all of their tours! If you are looking for a fun ride exploring the city of Tromsø with a friendly and knowledgeable guide, this is it!
