Great great trip
Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
What a great trip. Except for the condition of the "hybrid" bike I had (did not use e-bike), everything about this trip was beyond expectations...cabin, food, support, guides. My wife and I have been on other bike trips and have loved them. This trip was truly the best we have done. Everything was done to make the trip 5 stars. Modifications, when needed, were made with consideration for providing the best experience possible. For the casual rider or not in top notch condition
individual, an e-bike, is a must and will make the riding experience way fun. The islands are beautiful. The ride routes have challenging climbs. Guides were extremely knowledgeable, and supportive. The Romantica is charming and seemed the perfect match and vibe for the itinerary.
There are newer and more "glamorous" ships we encountered, but was glad to be on the Romantica.Highest recommendation.
As noted above, my only negative was the non e-bikes provided us. I am an very experienced rider and the bikes provided (the first one was not in acceptable riding condition, and the second provide was just slightly better) were poorly maintained, with shifters not working properly, rusty chains, etc., the wrong size for me, and the rides would have been way more enjoyable on a "good" bike. E-bikes appeared in good condition and well maintained.
In spite of this, I loved this trip.

First time “boat and bike” but not the last!
South Dalmatia Bike/E-bike and Boat
We are in our 60’s and are not avid bikers. We are active but live in a flat part of the world. I searched the internet and chanced upon this trip with the intent of biking around the islands in Croatia.
It was perfect for us. We had the opportunity to see parts of 5 islands that we would never have seen island hopping on the ferries. Our guides helped to elevate the trip by educating us throughout our adventure.
The boat: very comfortable, clean, AC helped, awesome food-nice variety, kind and thoughtful staff including the captain who gave my husband a tour of the engine room. Additionally, we had the opportunity to jump off the stern and swim in the Adriatic. The common areas allowed folks(21 of us) to congregate in a variety of places….sun deck up top, enclosed dining area, open dining/socializing area and additional bow , stern, port or starboard places. There were bars and clips to hang clothing to dry. We also brought our own elasticized laundry line which was nice.
The food: daily breakfast had a nice variety from yogurt, fruit and granola to eggs, cheeses, bread, veggies, bacon and sausages. The chef could accommodate a couple of folks who had some dietary needs. Sometimes we had lunch or dinner on the boat and a couple of days we had all 3 meals. The food was great and we did NOT lose weight despite our daily energy expenditure!
The crew: kind, always smiling, hard working and willing to help if they could.
The bikes: E-bikes are the best. They made biking up the hilly parts a breeze. One can work as much or as little as desired. One person chose to use a gravel bike…that is not for everyone but our guy was a biking beast!
Free time/other activities: there is plenty of opportunity to take a siesta if needed. The pace is not grueling at all. On the one long day, we had a lunch stop for several hours which included some swim time. There were 3 guided tours at different towns. These were nice to help get a historical perspective as the islands are loaded with history( Diocletian, Marco Polo, Romans, Greeks, aquaducts, midieval castles, etc).
The guides: as mentioned above, they were awesome. Both were from the Dalmatian area and were very knowledgeable. We felt very safe in their hands. Their communication with us was stellar. We always knew what to expect(daily schedules, length and difficulty of rides, bike riding safety tips)and were given recommendations of restaurants, beaches , bars or other places of interest at each port.
We loved the trip and look forward to another with this company. The Magellan crew has set a high bar!!!

Rides were well chosen; route booklet detailed; food, service and staff on boat all excellent. Varied terrain of forest, towns, vineyards made for interesting biking. Europe knows how to accommodate bikers; RadReisen knows how to cater to them. Fab trip.

THIS BIKE AND BARGE TRIP ON THE DANUBE WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. RICHIE WAS WONDERFUL AND AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. THE CREW ON OUR BARGE WAS SO ATTENTIVE AND FUN TO BE WITH. THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THE BARGE WAS OLDER, BUT IT IS BEING RETIRED SO ALL IS GOOD FOR THE FUTURE.

One of our favorite vacations

We had an absolutely awesome time. Accommodations, equipment, and staff were all great. We also had perfect weather and a wonderful group of co-travelers. Would do a vacation like this again in a heart beat.
Only thing that would make it even better, would be to have a masseuse on board!

Terrific introduction to bike touring
Bruges – Amsterdam by Bike and Boat
From the first moment to the last we had a great time. Thirteen riders and a great guide made for a splendid week touring the countryside between Brugge and Amsterdam. The pace was perfect with plenty of stops for food and drink. Our boat was nicely appointed and the on board chef made a different gourmet meal every night. We recommend a guided tour though we haven't tried a self guided tour yet.

The bike and barge trip exceeded our expectations greatly. We highly recommend this trip. The crew was wonderful and the meals were delicious. There were many additional items that made the trip memorable ie canal cruise, nightly walking tours of the towns, great stops on the cycle ride. It was a spectacular experience.

Combining biking with boating created a unique experience of physical activity combined with comfort and with a unique social experience. The entire staff was excellent and their attitude was to go out of their way to accommodate our wishes and produce a high quality experience. Starting with the director Leslie, there are not enough words to describe how professional, positive, full of energy and accommodating this quality individual is. He was not alone, all the staff, including the wonderful guides, servers, cleaning staff, entertaining individual , in short the entire team was wonderful. I will certainly sign again for a boat bike trip with your excellent first, rate company and I can’t wait for next year to come back.

Tremendous Tulip Tour!
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
My husband and I enjoyed this tour beyond measure! The room on the barge, tho tiny, was functional and cozy. Our guide Burt was super cool and knowledgeable of the area. There was 26 riders, so perhaps a second guide would have been helpful, but it worked just fine with one. The scenery was unbelieveable and we LOVED seeing the tulips and riding through the bucolic countryside. Be sure to dress warm! My favorite pull was through the Dunes, otherworldly habitat for Holland. Every meal on the barge was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. If you like riding bikes and appreciate flowers, gardens, and bird life you will love this tour!

So much fun!

This trip had it all - new friends, good food, interesting and beautiful cities, history and bicycling. However the bicycling was quite easy. I wish the route maps were updated so that we could have added more miles and ridden on our own especially when the groups were quite large.

An Ideal Vacation
Mosel & Saar by Bike & Boat
Riding the Mosel River in Germany is to experience seven days of sheer beauty of countless vineyards planted in a wild geometry on the steep valleys along the river. The villages with the profusion of flowers bursting from every window make you feel you have stepped into a story book. I've done this trip twice. Once with a regular bike and once with an Ebike. The Ebike is easier, of course, but the regular bike was very doable for an 84 year old who is just a weekend rider.

best trip ever
Amsterdam – Gouda – Bruges by Bike and Boat
Always wanted to do this type of trip but can never find anyone to do it with. Went with a friend and we are so impressed with the trip we are planning another one in 2026. I have traveled all over the world and this ranks up there as one of my favorite.

Paris Evening Bike & Boat Tour
I've done this tour twice when I've visited Paris - the first two years ago and then this June. I loved them both - they were different but each wonderful. The tour this June (2025) took great advantage of all of the new bicycle lanes in Paris so it was a lot of fun to ride on those all through Paris!

As much as you want it to be
Danube Delights: Cycling and Cruising in the Footsteps of Royalty
This was our first experience with any kind of boat "tour" and we took it with some trepidation of it being too cushy and not offering enough activity. It proved to be the best of both.
It combined the best aspects of a boat tour (small and intimate, exploring new places each day without having to move luggage) without the aspects we associate with a boat cruise/tour (schmaltzy events in the evening, formal dress and food events).
We found fellow passengers to be fit, open to adventure and informal in the evening while able to share their previous world travels. The staff was gracious, attentive, and invisible when not needed. Dinner courses were presented as if at a high-end restaurant and special food needs tracked by them throughout the week. Alcohol prices were reasonable. The Cruise Director was knowledgeable and well prepared.
Standard and ebikes were well maintained and staging meetings helpful for passengers to know the next day's' route and highlights.
And finally, each town we in which we moored, each village and bierhouse we visited, was hospitable and accommodating.
