Wonderful vacation
Bruges – Amsterdam by Bike and Boat
Great food, great new friends, beautiful countryside. Memet and Tom were funny, caring, and knowledgeable guides. The whole boat crew was very attentive and friendly. The chef did a fire dance one night, in addition to preparing excellent food. We definitely are planning for more bike and boat trips, based on this wonderful first experience.

An amazing experience

Boat bike is the way to see Croatia, the whole experience was fantastic, comfortable accommodation on the boat, fantastic crew who couldn’t do enough for us, and excellent food.

Well, done
Turkish Riviera - Cruise and Bike the Lycian Coast
This trip truly exceeded our expectations. The bikes were in great shape. The staff was very knowledgeable and considerate. Our tour lead, the great Allie, was very well informed and interesting at the various stops without being a licensed guide.
Both my wife and I love the small plates, similar to tapas.Only one negative we never did get the sales up.

Outstanding trip
Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
My wife and I took the Romantica from Dubrovnik to Split and had an excellent time! The three guides were outstanding: knowledgeable and extremely personable. We only had 12 people in our group, so there was lots of room on the boat to wander around. The city walking tours were a nice addition. The hills are a real climb, most of our group were on e-bikes but I started the trip on a peddle-bike. After 3 days I switched to an e-bike and really preferred it, would recommend e-bikes.

Way ahead of expectations!
Greek Island Adventure by Bike and Sail
Our boat was beautiful and very comfortable with lots of gathering spaces, excellent food, friendly staff and guides. Our daily rides were well explained and designed with consideration of the groups abilities and interests.
All in all though it was the people taking care of us that made the difference. Each one appeared to be looking for ways to help or support our experience.

Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
The islands are a must see if traveling to Croatia. This tour made it so easy to enjoy. The guides were excellent. They were patient, answered questions thoroughly, did a good job trouble shooting, giving us anticipatory guidance and let us go at the pace that was comfortable to us. We were able to stop frequently for photos. We've never done a guided tour before and planned to DIY on the islands. It would have been much more difficult trying to coordinate catching the few ferries that take bikes if we did it on our own. It was great to not worry about navigation, accommodations, etc. We just pedaled, ate, enjoyed and repeated. Only 3 of us used regular bikes. The other 20+ riders used e-bikes and had varying experience cycling

Great trip
Provence by Bike and Boat
Our August trip onboard the Caprice was fantastic. Good weather, a little windy at times, but not many hills. No equipment problems and the boat operated without a flaw (no AC problems, thank God). Guides Helmut and Alex were excellent, as was the assistance of the captain, Filippo. But if you want the best, highest quality cuisine aboard any bike/barge trip...just look to see if Chef Sara is listed. She was exceptional at combining the wines and flavors of Provence with her meals.

Better Than Expected
National Parks of Dalmatia by Bike/E-bike and Boat
This tour was more challenging than I expected but the E bikes more than offset the additional challenge. The tour was very well organized but definitely is an adult tour. I would not recommend for children under 15. The boat was well designed and the cabins very comfortable. The food was great, perhaps a little too much in total. The tour guides were excellent and the itineraries were nicely put together. There was very little stopping and exploring any unusual buildings or industry and there was almost no explanations while cycling. On other tours we would stop several times a day and the guides would explain something about the area. We did have several city tours where we walked through a town. Croatia is a beautiful country and the water was wonderfully clear and clean and the towns were spotless. I would strongly recommend this tour to cyclists who have some experience on a bike.

Tulips, Windmills, Canals and Camaraderie!
Holland’s Super Tulip Tour
The Super Tulip Tour (Barge: Zwaan @ 14 passengers and 4 crew) was truly a delight from beginning to end. Our group of 8 Americans, 2 Canadians, 2 Norwegians and 2 French enjoyed polder pedaling, canal crossings and windmill wonders while taking in the tulip fields/gardens. The meals were served family style and were amazing! The rooms were well equipped with wifi, hair dryers, etc. and the crew was eager to please.

Life on a Mosel/Saar River Barge is good!
Mosel & Saar by Bike & Boat
Not our first self-guided bike tour, BUT our first barge/bike "all inclusive" ride. We loved it. The barge rooms were small, but clean. The on-board meals and "make your own lunch from breakfast buffet offerings" were excellent! Kudos to the chef of the MS Patria. Staff from Czech Republic and Poland were hard working and friendly. Dagomar, the activities director, was enthusiastic and dedicated to making sure everyone was taken care of. Seating assignments in dining room were well thought out, placing the two of us (Oregon) with traveling relatives from BC. The rest of the table consisted of a group of eight Danish folks who spoke English! Bikes were 7-speed models and with a headwind, I was regretting not having an e-bike. Live and learn. Excursions/field trips were interesting and offered cultural highlights. The Mosel/Saar River valleys are simply breathtaking. There was a mix-up the day of our arrival in Koblenz, as we had not received the e-mail regarding the change in mooring. Our German friend was able to call the Harbormaster to locate the MS Patria, and after a rather long walk pulling our suitcases, we located a small local ferry that took us to the opposite shore (Rhine) where we boarded the boat. I don't think I would have thought to call the Harbormaster, and my husband's phone (with contact info) was out of battery power. Technology! All's well that end's well.

Tall Ship Sailing and Biking
Denmark and Sweden by Sail and Bike
Wonderful adventure. Strongly consider e-bike option due to strong headwinds switching between north and south. This is a new trip and we were on the maiden voyage, so the guides were becoming familiar with the routes available. Great food and ambiance.

Danube Delights: Cycling and Cruising in the Footsteps of Royalty
We absolutely loved the boat trip! Service was A++! Every single thing was taken care of! We did not have to do a thing! The bikes were taken off and on to the boat, the food was amazing! Such high quality of food, lovely waiters and waitresses! Our Host, George, was wonderful! Very friendly and helpful! We were prepped the night before on the bike course. The goodbye party was incredible and so fun!

UNESCO Highlights of Dalmatia by E-bike and Boat
We had a wonderful time on this tour. The Harmonia is a beautiful boat and well provisioned. There are some signs of wear and maintenance needs to be checked carefully room by room. The staff was terrific if not experienced—- seems like this US problem exists everywhere.

I loved seeing Belgium and Netherlands by the calm pace of the bike and barge. It was exciting to see and experience the cities, small towns and villages, countryside, canals, forests, and farms & communities where people lived. The barge was comfortable, staff was great and the food on the barge was fabulous. I would definitely consider another trip by bike and barge.

Great great trip
Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
What a great trip. Except for the condition of the "hybrid" bike I had (did not use e-bike), everything about this trip was beyond expectations...cabin, food, support, guides. My wife and I have been on other bike trips and have loved them. This trip was truly the best we have done. Everything was done to make the trip 5 stars. Modifications, when needed, were made with consideration for providing the best experience possible. For the casual rider or not in top notch condition
individual, an e-bike, is a must and will make the riding experience way fun. The islands are beautiful. The ride routes have challenging climbs. Guides were extremely knowledgeable, and supportive. The Romantica is charming and seemed the perfect match and vibe for the itinerary.
There are newer and more "glamorous" ships we encountered, but was glad to be on the Romantica.Highest recommendation.
As noted above, my only negative was the non e-bikes provided us. I am an very experienced rider and the bikes provided (the first one was not in acceptable riding condition, and the second provide was just slightly better) were poorly maintained, with shifters not working properly, rusty chains, etc., the wrong size for me, and the rides would have been way more enjoyable on a "good" bike. E-bikes appeared in good condition and well maintained.
In spite of this, I loved this trip.

First time “boat and bike” but not the last!
South Dalmatia Bike/E-bike and Boat
We are in our 60’s and are not avid bikers. We are active but live in a flat part of the world. I searched the internet and chanced upon this trip with the intent of biking around the islands in Croatia.
It was perfect for us. We had the opportunity to see parts of 5 islands that we would never have seen island hopping on the ferries. Our guides helped to elevate the trip by educating us throughout our adventure.
The boat: very comfortable, clean, AC helped, awesome food-nice variety, kind and thoughtful staff including the captain who gave my husband a tour of the engine room. Additionally, we had the opportunity to jump off the stern and swim in the Adriatic. The common areas allowed folks(21 of us) to congregate in a variety of places….sun deck up top, enclosed dining area, open dining/socializing area and additional bow , stern, port or starboard places. There were bars and clips to hang clothing to dry. We also brought our own elasticized laundry line which was nice.
The food: daily breakfast had a nice variety from yogurt, fruit and granola to eggs, cheeses, bread, veggies, bacon and sausages. The chef could accommodate a couple of folks who had some dietary needs. Sometimes we had lunch or dinner on the boat and a couple of days we had all 3 meals. The food was great and we did NOT lose weight despite our daily energy expenditure!
The crew: kind, always smiling, hard working and willing to help if they could.
The bikes: E-bikes are the best. They made biking up the hilly parts a breeze. One can work as much or as little as desired. One person chose to use a gravel bike…that is not for everyone but our guy was a biking beast!
Free time/other activities: there is plenty of opportunity to take a siesta if needed. The pace is not grueling at all. On the one long day, we had a lunch stop for several hours which included some swim time. There were 3 guided tours at different towns. These were nice to help get a historical perspective as the islands are loaded with history( Diocletian, Marco Polo, Romans, Greeks, aquaducts, midieval castles, etc).
The guides: as mentioned above, they were awesome. Both were from the Dalmatian area and were very knowledgeable. We felt very safe in their hands. Their communication with us was stellar. We always knew what to expect(daily schedules, length and difficulty of rides, bike riding safety tips)and were given recommendations of restaurants, beaches , bars or other places of interest at each port.
We loved the trip and look forward to another with this company. The Magellan crew has set a high bar!!!
