The tour was great, Daniel was extremely helpful, and the accommodation was very good. However, the tour should not be rated as easy. The first two days were easy, and it was no problem using a normal bike. However, for the next four days we should have rented electric bikes - it would have made the trip much more enjoyable. It was obvious the seventh day was over the mountains and would be difficult, but did not ever plan to cycle that day, as we only had six days available.

Medieval Spain villages was amazing
· Medieval Villages of Catalonia
Spain is very bike friendly and the bikes/ (and pedal assist e-bikes) were of great quality. The Hotels on this trip were very comfortable and provided nice breakfasts. The rides each day were moderate as described. On the first 3 days , you ride alongside beach views. After that, you do some countryside rides. On every ride and evening there were a bunch of outside cafes to choose from. It was an excellent mix of scenery. Thanks.

Such a great trip!

We were hesitant to take a non-guided tour at first, but it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. The roots were interesting and the directions were great, and we got to take all of the roots on our own time and our own schedule. The hotels were wonderful, and the routes through the different seaside towns and medieval villages were fantastic! Daniel was communicative, responsive, and really helpful. Could not have been a happier with our trip!

Fabulous way to take in the sights, sounds and smells of this beautiful area at our own pace on the self-guided tour. The information we were provided with prior to setting out - plus the GPS navigation tool - made us feel very comfortable and in control of our time each day. Daniel, our host, provided outstanding service - starting with an excellent briefing in Girona at the beginning of the tour - and everything he promised was delivered on or exceeded. The distances each day on the e-bikes were very achievable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness. The luggage transfers were seamless. The accommodation was excellent each night! Not five star - but beautiful locations and very comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend the tour.

Beautiful bike trip!

This is my second European bike trip with bike tours and it was even better than the first. Daniel from Creative Catalonia really went above and beyond. He met us at our hotel with the bikes, a reusable bag, water bottles, a map and a GPS. He made sure the bikes fit us and that we knew where to start. He was a very thoughtful communicator. The bike rides are low mileage but it is hilly, with gorgeous views. The rides are mostly on bike trails with about 30% being packed dirt/gravel. The gps was awesome and Daniel included places of where to stop to see interesting sites, recommendations for lunches or dinners, etc. His recommendations were great and very appreciated. The hotels that we stayed in were lovely and we really enjoyed them.
My only tip to bikers would be to bring your own helmet. I used the one provided which was sufficient but it didn’t have mips technology which is really standard for helmets in the US and would be the safest.
And for bike tours & Daniel — I’d suggest figuring out an alternative for the ride from Monells to Girona if you’re concerned about the safety of the bikers. I would have loved another day of biking and near the sea.
This was a great tour, lovely hotels, nice e-bikes, fabulous recommendations, easy to use GPS, I would highly recommend this tour. We went in mid September and the weather was hot and beautiful.- What was the date of your tour?

Really fun trip!

Excellent getaway!

Perfect way to experience Spain. The local organizer did an awesome job, logistics ran pefectly with luggage transfers and accommodations. The itineraries each day were as described and there was a good mix of riding and sights to see along the way, with food and drink options marked accordingly.

Gorgeous countryside; great hotels

The hotels and inns were all top notch and quaint. Bikes were high quality. Scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Staying overnight 2 days in some of the stops gave you options to explore the town. Staff was very courteous and helpful. This is not, however, a level 2 ride. Many hills. Get an e-bike unless you are an experienced and strong biker.

Amazing Service, excellent accommodations, I would highly recommend this tour company for any tour they have. From pick up to the route to the drop off at the airport, it was amazing. Best tour ever. Perfect way to experience northern Spain

This was a great way to be introduced to Northern Spain. The hotel accommodations were all great. The bicycles were in great condition and fit perfectly; they were great for the climbs. We really appreciated having two nights in some of the towns. Gave us time to explore the area after a good night's rest.

What a wonderful experience seeing Northern Spain!

This may be our favorite bike trip yet! The routes were beautifully crafted for maximum scenic views, minimal traffic, and wonderful towns. The hotels were all exceptional and unique. I love that we had 2 days in 3 places, so it gave us a little more opportunity to experience those regions. The drivers for pick up and drop off were super friendly, communicative, and prompt. The weather was just a little cooler than we would have liked for our trip, but it absolutely did not hinder us from enjoying every moment.

An unexpected delight
· Northern Spain: Cantabrian & Asturian Coasts
My husband and I took a week out of a 3-month tour of Western Europe to do this ride. We were very pleased with the staff, routes, accommodations and bicycles. Compared to the rest of our trip, we hardly had to think about anything except which charming village to explore. Between the online information, the print-outs provided, and the tour preview from the staff, we navigated easily and had many points of interest to choose from. I ride an electric bike at home and am glad I got one for this ride. My husband tackled the rolling hills, which were much more challenging than the terrain at home, on a manual bike. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff reached out before a rainy day to tell offer us a ride to the next town (my husband chose to ride and I was happy to be warm and dry). A word to the wise: The hotels provided hearty breakfasts, but pack snacks and fruits for the rides and hotels with limited food options.

Much better than expected, we did the self guided option. Pick up was on time, the bikes were great and the route map and directions were easy to follow.

Amazing tour. Just as advertised

We had a fantastic time. Simon obviously has this tour down to a science. Everything was exactly as advertised. We loved the rural roads and small hotels we stayed in. We found the Terrain stunning. There were some challenging hills but overall anyone with a reasonable level of fitness would have no difficulty with this trip. I would book with this tour company again.

Beautiful countryside in Northern Spain!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour through the countryside along the Ebro River -- the terrain varied from the hills at the river's source, through beautiful canyons and into the broad valleys of the Rioja. The hotels were wonderful, with hosts who were friendly, helpful and provided great dinners. Our bikes were in perfect condition. Overall, this trip exceeded our expectations. This is Northern Spain, so more clouds likely, but it only actually rained one day of the ride. Morning cool and clouds turned to afternoon sun and warmth. Perfect biking weather.

Glorious wine country

What a fabulous country Spain is! We loved this tour. May is an excellent time to enjoy this area. Ibero Cycle gave us an incredibly thorough briefing before heading off and were available throughout if any problems came up. The roads we traveled were without cars even though we were sharing the road. Unbelievably quiet roads and stunning scenery. Small little villages were at our days end and accommodations were clean and comfortable. The terrain was mixed and many hills over the course of the week but we enjoyed every challenge. Arriving to Haro and then on to LaGuardia were real wine country. I would even suggest an extra night in LaGuardia to enjoy some more of the local sights and wine tours. Beautiful trip! Thank you Bike Tours for another great and memorable experience.
