Great beautiful route
Three Lakes Tour: From Geneva to Annecy
Great way to see the French country side (9/-0) Riding was not difficult. E-bikes were good. My battery did not hold a charge for the entire day (7-8 hours of riding ). Would have been nice to have an extra battery. The staff did not fit my wife’ for her bike properly at the outset (the seat could not be lowered). The GPS guidance was confusing at times - they need to have a better app. Hotels were 7/10 (pleasant but not great - although they were A+ - Annecy was nice) I would recommend staying an extra day in Annecy at the end (beautiful town). I give the trip overall an 8/10.

scenic ride with bird song soundtrack
Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic
The bikes were ready when we arrived, and in great condition. The RoadBook App made finding our way easier than paper maps, although we did miss a few turns. The app did need cell service and ate through the battery fast enough that we needed a power bank. The navigation feature thought we were a car, which led to some odd instructions until we realized what was happening and then ignored it.
The Chateaus are lovely and easy to visit. We did the trip in late April and enjoyed the sound of birds and frogs as we cycled. The daily distances allow for sufficient time to take in the sights as well as some leisure at the end of the day. Most of it is done on either bike trails or very low traffic roads, although there a few narrow and moderate traffic roads that are less pleasant.
We used electric bikes and were happy to have chosen them. Although there are very few hills, we were glad of the boost.
Hotels were excellent and generally easy to find in the towns. without too much city traffic. We chose the meal plan, and received no information on how that worked. The second restaurant explained how in worked in their case and that each restaurant would be different. It would have been helpful to know in advance.- What was the date of your tour?

Good trip, bad weather
Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic
Very good ride with good roads and little car traffic. Beautiful chateaus and scenery. We were plagued by poor weather and too much riding in the rain

Interesting ride through the beautiful Boudreaux region of France
Atlantic Coast of France
Great rides on pretty much car free roads. Vineyards as far as the eye a see in many areas. Good wine at great prices. Especially liked exploring Bordeaux city.
Ebikes worked well, but we’re heavy for my wife. App giving directions was great at times but confused us at other times- What was the date of your tour?

Alsace Cycling Vacation
Alsace Wine Country
Bike Tours Direct is a very organized company that has good connections in the area. They provide a consultation on the first day of the trip to go over maps, routes, lodgings, and recommendations (for self-guided tours). They also spend some time making sure the bike is in good condition and is adjusted to fit you comfortably. We upgraded to road bikes, I would strongly recommend this as there are some steep hills on days 3-5.
We chose B hotels. The accommodations were comfortable.
The first 2 days of cycling are peaceful and flat, riding along a canal. Starting in Colmar, the ride is along the Alsatian wine route. It becomes hilly, and this is where the picture book starts. We cycled up and down hills, though vineyards, and medieval towns. Each town has beautifully preserved architecture, historic monuments, cobble stone streets, not to mention delicious local food and wine. The Alsace region is a perfect mix of French countryside, and small medieval towns with rich history and culture.- What was the date of your tour?

The absolute best thing we did in Paris!
Private Paris Bike Tour
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Christian was a fantastic tour guide-- kind, knowledgeable, fun, gracious, adventurous and so delightful. We were a bit skeptical about how much our 4 boys (ages 9, 13, 15 and 17) would like yet another Paris tour (after a bus tour, boat tour and exploring on foot for hours), but our 4-hour bike tour was an absolute blast. We got to see all of the major historical sights and tourist attractions-- except Christian gave us much more context and fun information. He also took us to some beautiful hidden spots that really captured the essence of Parisian life for locals and some beauty we'd have never found ourselves with a big group. Wish we'd had another day to do a tour to Versailles with biketours.com and Christian.

Languedoc Adventure
South of France: UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Did this tour as a couple in our early seventies. We have done many cycle trips mostly self guided carrying our own luggage. This time we hired ebikes. Bikes were perfect. Hotels stunning. The trip notes comprehensive and the GPS really excellent. We had good communication. Meals average.
We have feedback for Adventure France about the route: on the Canal day MIDI Day the trip notes and GPS gave different routes. This was unexpected and a bit confusing.
We followed the Canal du MIDI using the trip notes it worked well. The route to the hotel in Carcassonne used many small roads with 4 way intersections. Difficult. Also used the traffic bridge and main roads. Using the cycle/ pedestrian bridge would have been much better. We loved the routes especially the fascinating rock formations on the first cycling day and the high route above the lake. Magic.- Countries included in this tour?

A Journey Through History on Two Wheels
Coastal Normandy and WWII History
My significant other and I just completed the Coastal Normandy and WWII History bike tour, and it was nothing short of unforgettable.
Cycling through the rolling countryside and along the dramatic coastline, we felt like we were pedaling straight into the pages of history. The sites—Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, Pointe du Hoc—were powerful and humbling, evoking scenes straight out of Band of Brothers. Standing where paratroopers landed or where soldiers scaled cliffs gave us a visceral connection to the stories we’ve only seen on screen.
What made the experience even more meaningful were the people. The locals were incredibly welcoming—whether it was a café owner who insisted we try her homemade apple tart, or a farmer who pointed us toward a hidden memorial tucked behind his fields. Their kindness and pride in sharing their region’s history added a deeply personal layer to the journey. The balance of physical activity, cultural immersion, and historical reflection was perfect. Each day’s ride brought a mix of quiet rural beauty and poignant reminders of sacrifice. By the end, we felt both enriched and grounded—grateful for the chance to honor history while experiencing Normandy’s charm up close.
This wasn’t just a bike tour—it was a moving journey through time, one we’ll carry with us for years to come.

Beautiful and Fascinating
South of France: UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Beautiful routes, fascinating history, quaint, picturesque towns, grand castles and walled cities. Lodging ranged from excellent to very good. Bicycles and computer were great—we opted for carbon road bikes. Only negative was that the tour was short—one day had to be cancelled because of very heavy rain, and the last day was just a loop from Carcassonne to Limoux and back.

Great Food, Wine, and Views
Provence’s History, Landscapes, and Luberon National Park
We had a great time touring around the Avignon area and rode through very different terrains from average city streets to farm back roads, through historic cobble stone streets and narrow highways. Mike and Bernard were expert at guiding our tour group through difficult paths and to get to beautiful views and interesting attractions such as the Roman ruins at Glanum and the projection art show in a quarry.
The hotel styles varied in space and quality but they were comfortable, and they all had nice European breakfast options. The cantaloupe served in Cavaillon was the sweetest I tasted.
The wine tasting and winery tours were welcome stops on the rides. Eric at Cave Jamet was very friendly and colorful and treated us to a great spread at the wine tasting.
Evenings were spent relaxing at the pool at the hotels on the route and having beautifully created dishes at dinner. The best part of the trip making friends with other riders from around the US and UK. Their company made the trip fun and enjoyable.- What was the date of your tour?

Land of Castles and Wine
Metz and Cochem Premier Version
We went on the bike-boat tour in mid-October towards the end of the boat's sailing season. The weather had been rainy the week before, but the towns and castles on the route were captivating when the sky cleared up. The bike paths in Germany and Luxembourg were wide and easy to navigate with the help of our guides. We enjoyed learning of the interesting history of castles and the Roman introduction of wine growing in the Moselle region. Some of the towns had more tourists than I expected for the time of the year, but the number of tourists subsided in the evenings.
We had a good number of café stops on the bike for rest breaks and rehydration. The delicious meals on board were artfully and expertly prepared by the resident chef and served by a friendly and helpful crew.
Our room was small with 2 single beds on opposite sides of the room and had a small attached bathroom with a shower. We didn't mind the small size much since much of the day was spent on the bike. The beds were comfortable, and the room was made every day by the crew.
We visited many castles, as there seems to be at least 1 for each city we visited. One excursion that we paid extra for was a Wine Experience tour in Bernkastel-Kues, Germany. The tour described the different wines in the Moselle region and provided tasting samples of varieties. The tour included fun novelties such as the mirror room and the social media ready Wine Queen prop.
We enjoyed meeting and riding with the 28 other guests on the boat. Many were experienced bike tourists, and all had a good time sharing their experiences.- What was the date of your tour?

Bikes, boats, ziplines, and paragliding —all in 4 days
Three Lakes Tour: From Geneva to Annecy
My 19 year old granddaughter and I (60) spent four glorious days on this trail. We are not cyclists, although we are in shape and it is was perfect. We were just tired enough at the end of each day to enjoy a good meal and a good bottle of wine. We chose many side excursions along the way and found ourselves zip-lining over waterfalls, electric boating on a lake surrounded by the alps, and then paragliding tandem with an instructor over mountains and even a glacier! This was my second cycling trip and my granddaughters first. I will be adding a cycling portion to all my trips in the future. Nothing compares to exploring a country through villages and countryside. If you do this trip, or any cycling trip, always always always refer to Google maps and find the hidden gems along the way!

Geneva to Lyon
Along the Rhône River from Geneva to Lyon
After exiting Switzerland we were pleased to find the vast majority of this ride in France was on dedicated bike trails some newly paved along the Rhone. The flexibility of Bruno in meeting with us the night before starting was especially appreciated. Wetted our appetite to bike further down the Rhone in the future

Loire Valley & Chambord E-Bike Tour with Food Tasting
It was a fantastic way to look at the area . We are a very active couple on honeymoon and this tour was perfect for us . The booking process was not easy as it is the shoulder of the season and it ended up being much more expensive than what they said in the beginning but it was beautiful and much longer than we originally thought

Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic
The trip was memorable!!! The 4-star hotels were well-located and offered excellent service. The distances covered were appropriate, leaving plenty of free time to enjoy the destination upon arrival. The electric bikes worked perfectly. Kate's attention and advice before and during the trip, as well as that of the local provider, were invaluable. We will definitely book with Biketours again.

Perfect Way to Enjoy the Loire Valley
Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic
This was our first bike tour, and we were a bit apprehensive about everything going well... but it did! The folks at biketours.com were so helpful and responsive, answering all our questions. We did Tours to Angers and it was a beautiful, relaxing (yet challenging!) ride. The bike paths/roads were easy to ride and follow, the rental bikes ride very well, the hotels at each town were superb (mostly old historic small hotels, all with AC), the breakfasts were delicious. But best of all, the scenery riding along the rivers and seeing or at stopping at the chateaus was fantastic. I can’t think of anywhere more perfect to do a bike tour. Directions were adequate, but we used the GPX files throughout the trip. When they took us off of the main Velo route, we really needed that extra technology, but once on the Loire de Velo route, it was very well signposted. One surprise no one told us... we needed to cross a small river using a self-operated ferry. We had no idea how to operate it! Fortunately, we met a Dutch couple who knew how to do it, so we crossed it.
