An incredible way to explore the coast of Croatia, including several islands and national parks. What a beautiful country! Our guides, Tara and Serge were the best - well organized, great communicators, personable and fun! The Magellan is a beautiful boat, well equipped, with a great crew. The food was fabulous. Our e-bikes were very comfortable and the daily mileage was very manageable. It was nice to have time for the walking tours, exploring the towns on our own and eating dinner in the local establishments several nights during the trip. We went at the end of August and the weather was perfect, in the 80s, which meant we could swim off the ship in the Adriatic Sea every day. A big bonus! Definitely recommend this trip with no hesitation.

A perfect mix of activity, relaxation, and culture

We traveled with two other couples - none of us had been to Croatia before, so it was new for everyone. The convenience of the airport to the port and the detailed instructions on embarking put us all at ease.
Our cabin was comfortable and clean and there was plenty of room fit socializing and games during down time. Our guides were awesome- professional, fun, funny, knowledgeable and very attentive to the group. We were lucky to have a wonderful group from various parts of the world to get to know.
The rides were a good length each day with some challenging terrain, but very doable with ebikes. The tours that were arranged at various ports were a terrific add and each of the towns we were in port at felt safe and easy to explore in.
Overall, this was a trip that was well-priced- not fancy, but safe, clean, and fun.

Always a fan of Croatia for biking!

The Boat & Biking along the Dalmatia coast and islands was wonderful. As it was October, the weather was perfect, sunny, warm but not hot with chilly mornings but we warmed up quickly once on the bikes. No rain, lucky us. The views are dramatic and various towns the boat stopped at charming. This was our second boat and bike trip in Croatia. Can't say enough goods things about the country except "Go and experience it!" Our boat was comfortable, food delicious, crew very pleasant and helpful, e-bikes worked well and last but not least the two guides were absolutely fabulous. A great trip.

My wife and I took the Romantica from Dubrovnik to Split and had an excellent time! The three guides were outstanding: knowledgeable and extremely personable. We only had 12 people in our group, so there was lots of room on the boat to wander around. The city walking tours were a nice addition. The hills are a real climb, most of our group were on e-bikes but I started the trip on a peddle-bike. After 3 days I switched to an e-bike and really preferred it, would recommend e-bikes.

Leaders and group made this a magical experience

Not only did we have an exceptional trio of guides with us, we had an unusually small group which made usb bond so much easier. Loved getting to know the others on our boat, the Romantica, and travel around the beautiful isles of Croatia. I started off with a regular bike, able to manage the hills fairly easily, but always coming in just a bit later than those on e-bikes. There were some extra e-bikes and we decided on Day 4 to give it a try, and I was sold - it THEN became a vacation!! I didn't mind the effort pedaling uphill the minute we got on our bikes in the morning, but after pedaling on an e-bike, it's just so easy - and I didn't use the "help" that much, but when I wanted it, it was there and I didn't have to struggle at all! Sooooo nice!

Great great trip

What a great trip. Except for the condition of the "hybrid" bike I had (did not use e-bike), everything about this trip was beyond expectations...cabin, food, support, guides. My wife and I have been on other bike trips and have loved them. This trip was truly the best we have done. Everything was done to make the trip 5 stars. Modifications, when needed, were made with consideration for providing the best experience possible. For the casual rider or not in top notch condition
individual, an e-bike, is a must and will make the riding experience way fun. The islands are beautiful. The ride routes have challenging climbs. Guides were extremely knowledgeable, and supportive. The Romantica is charming and seemed the perfect match and vibe for the itinerary.
There are newer and more "glamorous" ships we encountered, but was glad to be on the Romantica.Highest recommendation.
As noted above, my only negative was the non e-bikes provided us. I am an very experienced rider and the bikes provided (the first one was not in acceptable riding condition, and the second provide was just slightly better) were poorly maintained, with shifters not working properly, rusty chains, etc., the wrong size for me, and the rides would have been way more enjoyable on a "good" bike. E-bikes appeared in good condition and well maintained.
In spite of this, I loved this trip.

First Boat/Bike tour; would do it again!

Our guide and boat crew were great. We had some bad weather and they worked together to make up for it by diverting to other islands. We used e bikes with pedal assist; they were very nice bikes. There were extra bikes and batteries in case of problems. There was a nice balance of boat, bike, and independent on shore time

The islands are a must see if traveling to Croatia. This tour made it so easy to enjoy. The guides were excellent. They were patient, answered questions thoroughly, did a good job trouble shooting, giving us anticipatory guidance and let us go at the pace that was comfortable to us. We were able to stop frequently for photos. We've never done a guided tour before and planned to DIY on the islands. It would have been much more difficult trying to coordinate catching the few ferries that take bikes if we did it on our own. It was great to not worry about navigation, accommodations, etc. We just pedaled, ate, enjoyed and repeated. Only 3 of us used regular bikes. The other 20+ riders used e-bikes and had varying experience cycling

Wonderful experience

The guides were wonderful! The rides challenging. I rode a regular bike, my wife an e-bike. We were both pleasantly challenged. Only an in shape experienced cyclist should try a regular bike. Elevation gain over distance is considerable. Beautiful views, nice villages.
We had below deck rooms. I don’t recommend them. At one point the sewage backed up into our toilet and the smell was awful. They repaired it in several hours.
The reason given was: it’s an old boat and the seals are not good. There is a new owner who needs to fix this!
Meals were plentiful. Breakfasts very good. Dinners were simple and adequate. Lots of grilled or fried fish and meat.- What was the date of your tour?

Great trip

Loved the access to small ports on islands. Stari Grad was our favorite. Liked that the trip guide could alter the schedule to avoid crowds. The e bike made this trip easy for us! Could NOT have done it without the ebike!

Fantastic Trip!

What a great way to see the Dalmatian Islands for the first time. The planning and leadership from our guides, Ivan and Martine, were superb, the food on board Romantica was generous and good, and the crew were very helpful. Travelling by sea and bike was a wonderful way to experience the beauty, history and culture of Croatia. Communication and information from Bike Tours was clear and helpful. The trip struck a nice balance by providing time to relax on the boat, time to bike in the mornings and early afternoons, and time to explore on our own the ports we visited. This was our first time doing a boat and bike tour and our expectations were met and exceeded at every point--highly recommended!

A complete joy

What a way to meet Croatia. Fantastic bikes, boat, leaders and group. I had just a fantastic week.... from the first tour (a walk around Split) so interesting. Great rides - some long and some shorter - all fun and interesting.... beautiful views. Lucky to meet a lovely group of riders, all keen and on time. The leaders kept us across everything but never overwhelmed us with info.
Only issue - i found it difficult to locate the boat.... there was no clip board outside on the street and it took 4-5 phone calls with the contact person to finally locate the boat. Others told me they had the same experience. The food was also very good.- What was the date of your tour?

What a wonderful way to see this part of Croatia!
It was a unique experience for us. I liked the combination of an active component to the holiday and cultural experience. Living aboard a mechanized sailboat while exploring some of the Dalmation islands was a great way to combine sightseeing with accommodation. The bike and tour guides, as well as boat crew were wonderful and did all they could to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the tour.- What was the date of your tour?

Flawless experience!

From start to finish this was a great experience. Our accommodations were clean and well located. Our luggage was transported from place to place without a hitch. Our E-bikes worked like a charm getting us up and over some very hilly terrain but still giving us plenty of exercise.
Everyone involved with our Split/Dalmatian Islands self guided bike tour was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this tour.
The only advice I would give is to try to make your Day-1 orientation early enough in the day to absorb and understand all of the information provided (regarding your bikes and your day-to-day self guided tour instructions).
Unfortunately we did not have our orientation until 5PM which forced us to rush through things and made for a shorter than desired first day ride.
