An Italian Adventure!
Tuscany and Umbria: Cycling in the Heart of Italy
Wow! What an incredible experience. We loved exploring the countryside and smaller towns of Italy and soaking in the local culture. Make sure you have spent time training as the biking is challenging, but well worth it. The app for the routes was easy to use and follow and the bikes we rented were high quality.

Outstanding route and operator for central Italy - Awesome trip!
Tuscany and Umbria: Cycling in the Heart of Italy
Really excellent self-guided trip run by a first class small operator (Petra and Paulo). Stunning terrain, mostly in Umbria which is quieter and perhaps even more charming than Tuscany. Accommodation was excellent quality and value. Not over-the-top fancy but great. Breakfasts good - usual European-style. Generally on our own for dinners and so many incredible choices - Umbria has first class food and wine. Luggage transfers perfect. Directions provided excellent. Relatively challenging rides which we expected. At the higher end of level 3. Terrain is hilly (and gorgeous) which isn't an issue where roads are switch-backed. Tougher when they're not but we managed fine. Best to be in decent shape. We're 60 and in good fitness. Winter training via spin classes helpful. Would be more challenging on hybrids - we upgraded to road bikes and were happy we did, riding with our own shoes and clips. Took an extra day in Orvieto which helped give a recovery day and was very interesting/worthwhile. Lots of history and art along the way. Great trip! Highly recommend this operator and this trip.

Gorgeous countryside - good biking

This is a very enjoyable fairly easy ride. Pienza is stunning. The country side does not seem real. The e-bikes were great and made the ride comfortable. The hotels were comfortable and welcoming. I forgot my glasses at one hotel and they were brought to me asap. Great support.

Trip of my Wife's dreams
Tuscany Getaway: 4 Nights in Siena, Montalcino & Pienza
My wife had dreamed of a Tuscany bike ride, so we decided the time was right. We setup our contract with road bikes. We are used to rode bikes and have never tried eBikes. Our Tour Advisor, Inshaaf Anderson, suggested we consider eBikes due to the hilly Tuscan terrain. Unfortunately, we stayed with the road bikes. The Tuscan hills are long uphill and fast downhill. After our 1st day we were having second thoughts about eBikes. Day 2 included Montepulciano and the most challenging 34 miles of our lives. After reviewing the Day 3 ride to Montalcino we wished we had listened to Inshaaf. We were able to contact and exchange our bikes. Another unfortunately, we had nothing left once we arrived in Montalcino. We made arrangements with Cycloposse to exchange us for the bikes and rode to Siena. A special thanks to Enrico and Panos for their support and compassion. Even though we didn’t complete the tour, we saw some wonderful country and met many wonderful Italians. We enjoyed the hotels very much and had no concerns about the safety of the bikes. A special thanks to Inshaaf, Kate and Taylor for their support during the entire process. Great tour
Tuscany Getaway: 4 Nights in Siena, Montalcino & Pienza
Despite two days of intermittent fog/clouds/rain, we loved this tour. The bikes and equipment were perfect. The tour operator, Cicloposse, was efficient, responsive, flexible. The hotels were quite good including lovely breakfasts. The routes were wonderful, so many interesting and beautiful places to see, and even though we were on roads, we felt safe.

The itinerary was wonderful, the medieval cities are amazing and very well located hotels. The only thing we didn't like very much was that the way was mostly on narrow paved roads, we were expecting to ride more on dirt roads.
Apart from that, we liked everything, including the e-bikes and local support.

A nice and perfect organization

Routes and the booklet given to us were very clear and helpful. We would have liked to receive details of each of our two bikes sot to ask for change. In fact we did not need so heavy bikes for the roads of our tour, and one as 27 and the other was 29" wheels for same height of the two of us.

Best vacation ever
Cycling and Cooking in Tuscany
There were so many positives on this trip. We were fortunate to have a fun group of like minded people on our tour. The villa is spectacular, Pometti was a fabulous, down to earth host, the food awesome, wine so good I shipped a bunch home and every location we visited was special. Marco & Guiliana are such a great team and excellent tour leaders. I have told many people about this wonderful experience and recommended to many.

This was our first time in Italy and the self guided trip was and excellent way to experience all the charms and challenges of this amazing place. Everything from our briefing to the charming and very comfortable hotels was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The bike ride was suitably challenging with regular touring bikes, and proved to be an excellent workout. Towns and villages along the way were all an added bonus. Our tour hosts were excellent and even provided a ride back to Sienna to gather my car on the last day. Thank YOU!

The best way to have an immersive experience in Tuscany
Tuscan Wine Classic: Pienza to Castellina via Siena
The route, the bikes, the hotels. All received an A+ grade. Except the part of arriving in Pienza and leaving Castellina. The topic “How to get there”, part of a e-mail sent by you should be improved. The option TAXI from Chiusi train station doesn’t exist. No taxis there. There is only one bus/day to Pienza that departures in the morning. And we arrived in the afternoon. After asking four different people we realized that the only way available would be to take a bus - a city bus, not prepared for the transport of passengers + luggage - to Montepulciano and then find a way to arrive in Pienza. We thought that we could take a taxi there. But no taxis either. Fortunately, cel phones were charged and with internet access, so we contacted the local operator, explained the situation and they went to “rescue us”.
The same uncertainty happened by the time we left Castellina. We had 4 bags (it was a 20 days vacation trip, with different activities, including a meeting in between - with a “social” dressing code). It would require a considerable effort to carry the luggage until the bus stop, to take another city bus until Siena and then find a way to go to Florence (the place where we would continue the trip). The lovely cities that we visited in Tuscany are in fact villages. There are no taxi services overthere.
Again, the tour operator helped us passing the contact of a private driver who led us from Castellina to Florence.
My suggestion: include the transfer to the starting point and from the finish point in the “to do list” for the local operators when cities have such a limited options of transportation.- What was the date of your tour?
