Excellent Tour
Best of Holland South: Canals, Windmills & Historic Towns
A cycling tour of South Holland was an excellent way to experience the beauty of the Netherlands. The routes showcased a stunning variety of landscapes, including canals, cities, windmills, farms, ferry crossings, and coastal sand dunes. The modern hotels offered warm welcomes and hearty breakfasts, making the journey both comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Brilliantly organized, fabulous, interesting route
Best of Holland South: Canals, Windmills & Historic Towns
A huge thanks for a fabulous trip! Pieter patiently spent over an hour at the start of the trip explaining the finer details of the bike’s operation and security guidelines and the ride with gps app was the perfect way to provide autonomy without having the hassle of working out your own route. The route was interesting and varied with each night spent in a charming town oozing character but away from the main tourist traps. The luggage transfer was perfectly executed and Pieter checked in regularly to make sure everything was okay. Bravo and merci! Highly recommend and would happily do another trip!

Surpassed expectations
Best of Holland South: Canals, Windmills & Historic Towns
I had a few days off prior to a conference. What a perfect way to see the countryside, get over a long haul flight and jet lag. I chose the tour mostly for convenience but loved (almost every) minute of it! The bike, the route, the countryside , tbe towns, the windmills, the sand dunes, the hotels were so delightful I smiled like a child at Christmas for most of the trip. The hour or so cycling through the garden areas are not interesting out of season but that was a minor detraction on what was a fabulous reviver of a trip. Thank you to Pieter for his support and kind attention. Highly recommended.

This was an awesome trip!
Sail & Bike to Picturesque Villages and Nature Reserves
The ship ('t Wapen fan Fryslan) was incredibly beautiful! Cabins were small as expected, but clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were sufficient and everything worked well. The crew was incredible! The Captain (and ship owner) is the most pleasant, calm, confident and capable seaman I have ever met (we are sailors, too) and really seems to care about his guests and that they have a good time and everything is safe. He was an awesome host! It is obvious that he puts a great deal of work and love into his ship, and everyone seemed to acknowledge, appreciate and respect that. And the captain owns the sweetest dog!
Our itinerary changed during the first few days, but it was fine. The biking was easy and some paths took us through beautiful farm country, through some nature parks and forests, and through some lovely little villages and towns. We are not hard-fast bikers, but we were able to keep up with the pack. You do have to cross some roadways, and some can be busy, but everything worked out well for our group. Also being a sailing tour, we sailed on some of the days and the ship is absolutely gorgeous under sail! The first mate was so helpful and instructed us as to what to do so we could help raise, lower and trim the sails. Oh, and yes, there is a Jacuzzi on board that was opened on some of the nights when we were docked at port. Luxury!
Meals were awesome as well! Good wholesome food elegantly prepared and presented! It was obvious that the chef took pride in the meals she prepared. Everything was delicious, and even my son, who is quite picky, ate most everything and was pleased with the meals! One night, the chef even put on a barbecue on the deck with many varieties of meats, each one specially marinated, with several side dishes. It takes an enormous effort to pull that off on a sailboat, where everything must be toted up and down between the galley and the deck. (Note: Guests who have preferences are advised on the website to arrange special dietary requests in advance. We did not feel it was necessary, and we were fine. The Dutch do not necessarily have salads at each meal, but meals are well balanced and there are ample vegetables served!)

Tremendous Tulip Tour!
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
My husband and I enjoyed this tour beyond measure! The room on the barge, tho tiny, was functional and cozy. Our guide Burt was super cool and knowledgeable of the area. There was 26 riders, so perhaps a second guide would have been helpful, but it worked just fine with one. The scenery was unbelieveable and we LOVED seeing the tulips and riding through the bucolic countryside. Be sure to dress warm! My favorite pull was through the Dunes, otherworldly habitat for Holland. Every meal on the barge was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. If you like riding bikes and appreciate flowers, gardens, and bird life you will love this tour!

Tulip and Windmill Barge Tour
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
This was my third bike trip with Bike Tours.Com., but my first guided tour. Sietse, was an excellent guide, who kept us on a schedule but allowed us time to see things, gave us adequate coffee and lunch breaks. He always told us much information about each place as well as a voluntary walk at night in each town that we docked at, one does not get that on an unguided tour. Our chef, Nicole, was excellent, who I appreciated being on a gluten-free diet. The meals were healthy as well as delicious. The biking trip had very good trails with lots of canals and wildlife as well as windmills and of course the beautiful tulips, tulips, and tulips!

Bucket list tour
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
A delightful way to experience the Netherlands and see beautiful flowers along the way. We learned some of the history, architecture, and customs of the Dutch and enjoyed meeting the people. We visited a windmill that has been steadily making paper since the 17th century! Our barge crew was terrific! Great food and friendly conversations. The bikes were in great condition and had been carefully fitted to our measurements before we arrived so we could get right to the riding.

So much fun!
Holland’s Southern Relax Tulip Tour
What a lovely way to get to know Holland. Our guide, Arie, was excellent - warm, knowledgeable, funny, and kind. The chef, Emile, was fantastic. I didn’t expect such delicious, thoughtful meals. He accommodated everyone with a smile, and was extremely helpful.
The cycling days were just right - a good mix of countryside, small towns, canals, and windmills pretty much every day. Arie was patient with the group and made sure everyone was comfortable. Staying on the barge was convenient, since it meant we could unpack our things.
The barge experienced some mechanical challenges, but the captain and crew were responsive, positive, and communicative throughout. I don’t feel it negatively impacted the tour.- What was the date of your tour?

This is a great way to see the country. The team was great, friendly, and helpful. The meals were wonderful. Our guide, Marjan, was calm, patient, and really knew the territory. I enjoyed the evening walks through the towns as she explained a bit about the history as well.

A really enjoyable way to discover a new country. We were fortunate to have a very helpful tour guide ,along with a first class chef providing excellent meals as well as very helpful barge staff. Our boat the Anna Anatel accomadated 17 guests and was an ideal group size for this type of activity.
