We had a wonderful trip with an amazing crew who worked in unison to make all the guests feel welcome. The tour leaders, Tammy and Peter, were fantastic and had intimate knowledge of the communities and sights along the bike routes. Their personal connections provided unique experiences that would otherwise have been missed. They were patient and personable even after their very long days!

Perfect trip to combine cyclists and non cyclist friends

Our guides Corrie and Hetty were knowledgeable and friendly, the crew of Chris , Alexis, Hella, and Ingaborg were helpful and gave great service, and the meals from chef Michel were outstanding. We will definitely do another trip with this company. Flat terrain and e-bikes or comfortable hybrids allowed people of all cycling levels to enjoy trip, and the small size allowed all of us to make new friends!

Fantastic Bike/Barge Trip

This Brugge to Amsterdam bike and barge trip exceeded our expectations in many ways. The barge was deluxe, clean and comfortable and the food was good. We had an upper level stateroom and think it was worth the cost.
The biking was easy although there were very strong winds a few times. We tried e bikes. About half the riders used them. This was our first experience with e bikes but at age 66 I will rent one again although we are long time , long distance cyclists.
We did expect more independent cycling and some cycling instruction for new riders riding in a large group. However, the route was tricky with so many paths to take so we stayed in the group. The small towns and scenery were a wonderful experience. The guides and boat crew were very knowledgeable and personable.
We will look for a similar experience in the future.- What was the date of your tour?

Amazing bike and barge trip!

My husband and I loved every minute of it! Fantastic crew, who looked after every single thing on our bike and barge tour.
Love cycling every day through beautiful historic areas and quiet countryside. Couldn’t get over the green lush areas, and always fun to cycle by the many canals!
The barge was spacious and had many very nice outdoor areas to lounge and relax.
Very talented and hard-working guides, hostesses, chef and captain!
Can’t wait to book our next tour! -

Amazing Adventure!

What a great biking experience, from the moment we were welcomed onboard. We were always greeted with a smile, and were well informed about next steps: the staff team were awesome! Because the tourist group is small, there was time to find friendship with like minded people from around the world.
The barge is beautiful, and the cabins very efficient. We enjoyed gourmet meals daily, and my food allergies were never a problem thanks to the very creative and talented Chef Jules.
I had never experienced ‘rush hour’ on bicycles, and was in awe that bicycles often get the right of way: so different in Canada! The busy cities gave way to daily rides through true countryside farms and water systems, with interesting stops. A great combination of riding.

Wonderful Bike and Barge Experience!

I participated in the Bruge to Amsterdam Bike and Barge Tour and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The ship was lovely and I was impressed by the room and the lovely ensuite bathroom. The bikes were great and when I asked if it would be possible to switch to an electric bike - there was no problem. The guides - Anna and Hairy were knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. The staff on board the ship were polite, professional, and always willing to help in any way. The chef was extraordinary - lovely dinners each night beautifully presented. I loved the flavoured water and snacks available at the end of each ride. The stops we made along the way were interesting and often historic. I really appreciated the stop at the graveyard where so many young Canadian soldiers were buried - it was very touching. The stop at the dairy farm where they make Gouda was amazing. I think we were exposed to a great deal of the countryside and culture of the countries we visited. A thoroughly satisfying and wonderful trip.

Bucket list trip

Springtime in Belgium and the Netherlands is a perfect time to ride through the countryside. Flowers and trees are a blooming! Our tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Customer service all around from tour guides to boat staff were top notch. We did not lack for anything. The bikes were comfortable. We rented an ebike and it was super easy to use. There were a few times I forgot to turn it on. They’re not a heavy bike, so easy to forget with such flat terrain.

Wonderful Experience

My wife and I had a wonderful experience on this bike tour of Belgium and Netherlands. The barge itself was very nice, and the crew and guides were even better. Every night the chef exceeded our expectations with a great dinner. The best part were the friendships and fun we had with the other folks on the tour.

we thoroughly enjoyed this trip, from the greeting on the first day to the tearful goodbyes on the last. We can’t say enough about the crew on the Magnifique IV, they were so busy yet did a great job!! Our tour guides for the bikes were a blast, made the kilometers melt away. We would do again in a heartbeat!!

Great

Enjoyed the trip. We enjoyed the scenery. We enjoyed the barge. The floors of the barge are stunning. All the personnel were wonderful and I appreciated there pitch-in attitude. My only suggestion in regarding the biking, is that because E bikes now allow folks who are not bikers on these trips, that the groups always be divided into two. That first day when we had such a large group going through busy Ghent was uncomfortable. Those at the front asked to wait at corners, waited over 15 minutes isolated and it was not clear if we were going to have the Support to find the boat. I suggest also a discussion about not letting big gaps form within the same group, so those being supportive at the corners are not waiting. ( I’m not suggesting that they ride right behind someone, just not perhaps multiple hundred yard gaps. Really loved the tour.

During our long-awaited 7 week European trip, our Bike/Barge adventure was the best part. The local NL based company that organized the tour is great. From the comfy accommodations, to the well planned biking, our week was filled with memorable adventures.
With warm and friendly fellow travelers and an outstanding skipper and crew, we enjoyed delicious meals, informative city walks, fun bike routes with some challenging weather and amazing sights on the land and water. Our biking guide led us with confidence and patience (despite widely varying experience/strength) and added important information on culture and history wherever we traveled.
The smaller size of the barge with only 9 guest rooms, made the entire experience that much more personal. This was also the most affordable week of our vacation! We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the Netherlands, Belgium and to the wonderful bike/barge experience. Outstanding; we can't wait to go again.

Very well organized and planned

It was very well organized and people on the boat and in the group were really super nice. Each day was a feast at night, and a treat to the eyes when it comes to biking. We went through a lot of pretty open fields, historic sights and picturesque landscapes. It was like riding through a wallpaper. It was quite easy to finish it, given the flat terrain, and was not a really hard tour.

What a Great Experience!!!

This trip exceeded all my expectations. The "Barge" was quaint (but professional), the rooms were VERY clean and comfortable with good shower. Dining area was nice and best feature was sitting deck where we all gathered after a day of biking and enjoyed a "beverage". The Crew was fantastic. Always with a genuine smile and seemed to enjoy their work almost as much as we did. The chef did an amazing job with great food and really neat presentation added to the charm. With a small "boat" we got to know all the other passengers and by the end of the week we were friends. Such a great time. Oh and by the way, the actual bike riding was good also. We saw and experienced a Netherlands and Belgium that only a trip like this could offer. Daily rides were easy enough for any cyclist and our guide could not have been more concerned that we were enjoying ourselves. He became part of our "Group" and a friend.

Womderful boat, great crew and food, fun time

We enjoyed the boat and barge trip from Amsterdam to Bruges. Our guide was great; very knowledgeable about a twisting route with an occasional detour and about the sights and towns we visited. In the evening he’d take those of us who were interested on a guided tour of the city where we’d docked. We were a very compatible group. It was a bit large (23 people) for one guide but our guide managed to keep us all together and on pace. The boat Sailing Home was delightful. Very clean and ship shape. The food was fantastic. We especially liked the gourmet dinners and stories the chef Eline told us about their origins.
