Main River bike tours

The River Main begins in the Franconian forests, where the White and Red meet to form one majestic river. It flows through the Upper Main Valley – known as “God’s Garden,” through romantic and historic cities, into wine country, and finally ending when it meets the river Rhine. The region’s long and ever-changing history left behind many castles, fortresses, monasteries, churches, and chapels.

The Main River Bike Path was Germany’s first cycle path to receive a five-star rating, with outstanding signposts making navigation simple. The bike routes in this region are mostly traffic-free on well-maintained, mainly asphalt paths. The countryside is primarily flat, making riding easy and well-suited for families with children.
