An adriatic adventure to blissful Durrës

This bike tour begins in Tirana, Albania's capital and largest city, and ends in Durres, the country's second-largest city. Ride out of the center of Tirana through the Kombinati neighborhood and head to Durres, located on the Adriatic Coast, for a day tour of unbeatable views of the ever-changing Albanian landscape.

Ride through rolling fields and past traditional villages on your route from Tirana to Durres. Your bicycle tour follows the Road of Ndroqi, an old road long used to transport goods and people between the two cities. Pass through the picturesque Ndroq village and stop at the ruins of the ancient Ndroqi Castle, its ruins clinging to the hillside but offering spectacular views over the landscape below.

Notice the change in the air as you near the coast and the Adriatic becomes visible on the horizon. As you ride into Durres you'll notice ancient architecture all around you. It is one of the oldest cities in Albania, and you'll pass by Byzantine walls and a Roman amphitheater, testimonies to its various rulers over the centuries.

Durres is dominated by popular trees and sandy beaches, and you'll stop at one of these on arrival into the city for a well-earned rest and perhaps even a dip in the azure waters of the Adriatic. After some time on the beach, a shuttle will collect you to return you to Tirana.
