    • Arresting Arctic scenery

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Kvaløya island and Ersfjordbotn village on this e-bike tour filled with magnificent coastal scenery. The Tromsø to Ersfjordbotn E-Bike Tour is a guided day tour that takes you on a breathtaking ride through the Arctic landscapes of Tromsø, to Kvaløya island, Ersfjordbotn village, before concluding in Bryggejentene, contender for the world's coziest cafe.

Starting in the heart of Tromsø, gateway to the Arctic, you'll pedal your way towards Kvaløya island, whose Northern Sami name ('Sállir') means 'Whale Island'. Keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent creatures off the island's coast, but don't forget to appreciate the enchanting Arctic nature that abounds wherever you cycle. Replete with sandy beaches and steep mountains that plunge into the sea, this island of three fjords is also known to stage magnificent displays of the Northern Lights at certain times of the year.

The village of Ersfjordbotn is located on an isthmus on the island. Cycling towards it, observe the dazzling display of fjords lapping at the shores, providing an endless prospect towards the horizon. Once a sleepy, rural village, Ersfjordbotn is gradually becoming a suburb of Tromsø, but the old ways of life haven’t entirely disappeared: friendly locals and traditional architecture are present at every turn of the handlebars as you cruise through the village.

This bicycle tour stops at Bryggejentene, a cafe located in the heart of Ersfjordbotn. Hunker down inside with a warm drink and a hearty lunch, or a generous slice of homemade cake in the cooler months. Or, in the warmer months sit outside in the sun that never sets, on the charming old pier that was built by the owner's great-grandfather in the early 20th century.

Whatever the season, you'll enjoy the serenity and simplicity of the lifestyle here as you soak up the picturesque view of the deep fjord. After you've finished your food, take your time to walk around the artisanal shop adjacent to the cafe and peruse the delightful local crafts on display.

You'll then hop back on your e-bike as your guide leads you back along Ersfjordbotn's scenic roads towards Tromsø, drawing your attention to native wildlife and prominent landmarks as you ride. With this guided tour and e-bike rental, you won't have to worry about taking a wrong turn or looking down at a map, leaving you free to simply enjoy the captivating Arctic landscapes around you.
