    • A voyage through Médoc’s vineyards

Take an immersive ride into the viticulture of one of Bordeaux's finest wine regions on the Medoc E-Bike Tour with Lunch & Wine Tasting. Experience Médoc's viticulture firsthand, from vine to bottle, combined with a scenic cycle through some of the most picturesque countryside in southern France. This day tour takes in the region’s picturesque paysage, as well as Château Margaux, Château Kirwan, Château Cantenac Brown and Château Marquis de Terme.

You'll meet your guide in Bordeaux, where you'll travel north out of the city in a luxury minivan and into the Médoc region, with its pine forests and long, sandy beaches that hug the Atlantic coastline. This e-bike tour will begin near the bank of the Gironde estuary, where you'll pedal past vineyards that sprawl as far as the eye can see.

Cycling along, your guide will explain some of the history and topography of the region, including its atypical terrain for winemaking thanks to its location on the Atlantic coast. Your trip will first stop at Château Margaux, an estate that has been making wine since the end of the 17th century. You'll ride on to Château Kirwan, an estate where visitors can wander freely around the wooded park in front of the château and observe the harvest of the vines on this working terroir. This guided tour will also take you to Château Cantenac Brown, a Tudor-style château founded over 200 years ago by a Scotsman.

Then, you’ll pedal towards the highlight of this bicycle tour: your extended visit and cellar tour of Château Marquis de Terme, a Grand Cru Classe 1855 Classified Growth Château. This classification of Bordeaux wines was ordered by the Emperor Napoleon III in 1855, ranking the very best of the region's red wines according to their quality. The classification still holds sway today, and this stop on your bike tour provides an insight into the winemaking process of a Classified Growth Châteaux in the 21st century.

An employee of the estate will be your guide, and as they talk, you'll experience the vitality of passion the viticulturists of this region have for their traditional, centuries-old culture. You'll end the tour with a guided wine tasting of the estate's vintages, as you learn to distinguish the flavors and aromas that make each year's harvest unique.

Of course, all that cycling and wine tasting is bound to make you hungry, and you'll enjoy a picnic lunch in the château's gardens as part of your day tour. You'll savor typical French produce from the local market, paired with a glass of wine, in the most picturesque surroundings. From here, you'll cycle past further vineyards, back to Port d'Issan, where you'll board the minivan back to Bordeaux as a connoisseur of Médoc's marvelous viticulture.
