Beginning at the world famous Waikiki Beach, the Historic Honolulu Bike Tour immerses you in the very best of a city that was once a retreat for Hawaiian royalty and is today a dream destination for travelers from around the world. Your route on this day tour takes in Ala Wai Boulevard, Ala Wai Canal, Aloha Tower, Chinatown, State Capitol, Royal Iolani Palace, the King Kamehameha Statue, Kawaiaha'o church, Mission House, as well as unique parks, canoe clubs, and golf courses.

Start out from Waikiki Beach, renowned among surfers for its Waikiki waves. As you pedal alongside the golden sands and crystalline waters, look out for the imposing outline of the Diamond Head volcanic crater in the distance. Your guide will lead you along the Ala Wai Boulevard, built along the Ala Wai Canal, which provides the scenic backdrop for the first portion of your ride. Your guide will explain how this man-made waterway, completed in 1928, was designed to drain the surrounding wetlands and transform them into a thriving residential and commercial area.

Your family-friendly bike tour stops at the Aloha Tower, built in 1926 and once the tallest building in Hawaii. You'll take the elevator to the top floor to enjoy panoramic views of the island. Your guided tour continues through Chinatown, where you'll soak up the vibrant offerings from the Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino restaurants and shops that line these bustling streets.

Cycling on, you'll arrive at the State Capitol, an impressive architectural feat, designed to resemble a volcano. Your guide will direct your attention between this expressive building and the refined splendor of the Royal Iolani Palace nearby. This building is the only palace on US territory, built in 1882 as the home of Hawaii's last monarchs. Today, it has been transformed into a museum and your guide will take this opportunity to provide insights into Hawaii’s indigenous monarchy.

Onwards to the King Kamehameha Statue, erected to pay tribute to the legendary Hawaiian ruler who united the islands, before passing Kawaiaha'o church, known as the 'Westminster Abbey of Hawaii'. Your route on this day tour will also pass by the Mission House, built in the 19th century in New England style, and home to the missionaries who were responsible for bringing Christianity to Hawaii.
