Denmark Bike Tours

Bike-Friendly Paradise

This Nordic country is famous not just for its culture and arts, but also for its stunning natural landscapes. You’ll discover that Denmark is home to some of the best-preserved natural areas in the world, including Bornholm, the Silkeborg Lakes, Skagen, and the Wadden Sea National Park.

Renowned for its iconic and colorful cities, a visit to Denmark is incomplete without a trip to Copenhagen, the historic city of Aarhus, and fairytale Odense – the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen.

As one of Europe’s most bike-friendly countries, Denmark may be small, but it offers plenty of diversity in landscapes. The coastal cliffs and white, sandy beaches contrast the modern cities with cultural phenomenons of their own.

  • What makes Denmark a great destination for a bike tour?

Denmark is one of the best countries in the world for a cycling tour! It's safe and scenic, with outstanding infrastructure, flat terrain, and stunning coastal routes.

Many bike tours follow the National Cycle Route Network and towns and cities are geared around cyclists, with dedicated cycle lanes to make biking here stress-free, smooth, and peaceful.

In this country built for bikes, you'll be able to explore many enchanting landscapes and cities with ease, tracing coastlines, fjords, and island shores, and passing through UNESCO heritage towns, Viking heritage sites, and seaside fishing villages.

Most tours start or end in colorful Copenhagen – one of the world's most bike-friendly capitals.

  • When is the best time to take a bike tour in Denmark?

The best time to take a bike tour in Denmark is May through to September, when the weather is mild and there's plenty of daylight.

Spring (May–June) is ideal for coastal and countryside rides, e.g. to Funen Island, Zealand, or the Baltic Sea Cycle Route.

Summer (July–August) is ideal for island hopping, family trips, and the North Sea Cycle Route (N1). July is the peak summer season for local trips, so book early.
