“This was our first self-guided bike tour, and it exceeded our expectations. We loved having the freedom to travel at our own pace while still knowing we had the support of BikeTours.com and the local partner, whenever we needed it.

The logistics were remarkably smooth. Our luggage was transported from hotel to hotel each day. On a couple of occasions, we arrived before our bags, but it wasn’t a big inconvenience. The GPS routes were accurate and easy to follow throughout the trip. A few times, as we approached our hotels, we switched to Google Maps for easier final navigation.

We chose the gravel bikes and brought our own pedals. The bikes fit our needs well and handled the variety of terrain comfortably. Before the trip, I reviewed the daily distances and elevation profiles, but some of the climbs still felt more challenging than expected. Riders considering this tour should be prepared for a few substantial ascents.

The hotel accommodations were stunning and enhanced the overall experience. Jorge from Ants on Track was communicative, responsive, and helpful, ensuring we were well prepared and supported throughout the journey.

We traveled in mid-October, and the weather was ideal for cycling. Andalucía is stunning. The scenery was breathtaking, the white villages were charming, and we loved experiencing the region's rich history, culture, and incredible food.

One recommendation for future travelers is to build an extra day into the itinerary, perhaps in Ronda. The cycling days are rewarding but full, and a layover day would provide an opportunity to rest your legs while exploring more of the area's attractions.

“We had wonderful guides (Ana and Tonka) who generously shared their enthusiasm for biking and their pride in their Croatian culture. Through dinner hour chats we learned so much about life in Croatia. The rides were well planned and perfectly met our physical abilities. The city tours were fun and educational. The demonstration of Rab Cake creation was fascinating and the treats were delicious. Ana’s Croatian language lesson was fun, humorous, and appreciated. Those lessons helped us after we left the boat throughout the rest of our Croatian tour.

The Andela Lora is a beautiful and very comfortable boat. The crew kept us well fed and comfortable. The decisions made by the Captain regarding the weather and our route made us understand that our safety was paramount to him. The changes in itinerary were designed to result in our continued enjoyment of the tour.
