Combine a guided bike tour with an exploration of the best breweries and wineries in Santa Barbara. This day tour will allow you to soak up the atmosphere and do some sightseeing of the downtown area as you cycle between tastings, enjoying the company of some of the best drinks producers of this burgeoning local industry.

You'll begin this guided tour with a ride along Santa Barbara's scenic beachfront before cycling on to your first tasting of the trip. You'll visit two tastings over the course of this bicycle tour, and you'll be able to express a preference between beer and/or wine tastings at the beginning of the ride. Depending on the preferences of the majority of the group, this will determine whether your first stop will have you learning about fermentation and pulling a pint of the best local beer, or talking about terroirs and testing your nose against the region's finest grapes.

With the first tasting flight complete you’ll get back on your bike for a guided tour of some of Santa Barbara’s hidden gems. Your local guide will share their favorite destinations in the city, from family-run restaurants to picture perfect spots hidden in plain sight. You’ll then ride to your second tasting to enjoy more of the wonderful wine or brilliant beer that is produced in the city.

Four local producers are the partners for this bike tour: ​​Validation Ale, Draughtsmen Aleworks, Barbieri & Kempe Wines, and Grassini Family Vineyards. Validation Ale encourages members of the community to submit new recipes to challenge the current most popular brew. If the new beer becomes more popular, it replaces the former best-seller until it is challenged again. Perhaps a visit to their tasting rooms will inspire you to concoct your own craft beer submission! If you visit Draughtsmen Aleworks, you’ll find a craft brewery that prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients while maintaining a playful and experimental approach to incorporating different flavors and brewing techniques into their production process.

Bike along to Barbieri & Kempe Wines, a boutique winery located in the Santa Ynez Valley who produce limited quantities of high-quality wines, and sample some of their exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Or glide along to Grassini Family Vineyards to find a family-owned winery dedicated to sustainably producing premium Bordeaux-style wines. The tasting flight, tax, and tip for the winery and brewery stops are included in the price of the tour, as is bike rental.
