Nicknamed ‘Regina Viarum’ by the Romans, the Appian Way is considered to be the earliest Roman road, connecting Rome strategically to Capua. Ride the ‘first highway in history’ and take in breathtaking bridges, viaducts, streams and mountains. According to Roman history, the road was named after Appius Claudius Caecus, who built it in the 4th Century BC.
