A must-have trip for those who love cycling and travel!
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique II (and reverse)
We were able to explore the countryside of Belgium and the Netherlands in ways that a car trip would not have allowed us, plus staying on a very comfortable boat, with great food and the possibility of making good friends! It is an easy track for those who are not very athletic but are used to biking.

Our first trip to Belgium, Holland and the city of Amsterdam. What an amazing way to travel. Each day was filled so many local and historical sites and information through our lovely tour guides. It was structured and accommodating for all abilities of riders. The boat was immaculate and the staff worked hard to greet us in the morning and back after our daily rides.

Absolutely perfect day!
River Vecht Bike Tour Utrecht
This was our favorite day of the trip by far. My mom and I spent the day with Raphael who knew everything about Utrecht and the region. He was prepared with laminated slides to give us visuals of the history and shared such vivid and interesting stories. He showed us such special and unique places in the region, we felt like we really got to know the area. He was also incredibly adaptable to the speed we wanted to go and kept the day fun and active!

Intrigug finale!
Amsterdam City E-Bike Tour
The route gave a great overview of the city, and finishing up at the tiny, smallest house in Amsterdam was a truly unique and memorable way to end the ride. It was also great having the included bike rental for extra exploring time afterwards.

Positive Experience, with a bit of extra effort
Best of Holland North: Dutch Villages, Landscapes & the Keukenhof
The e-bikes provided were top of the line, with the appropriate accessories of bags and locks. (We were glad we booked e-bikes because, while the landscape is flat, we needed the power to overcome the sustained winds in the North.) Orientation was clear and friendly, with a great local person. All of our bags transferred seamlessly throughout the trip. Three of the four boutique hotels booked for us were well-styled - but those three did not have elevators.
The tour route provided via Ride with GPS was fine but without customization or annotation to reflect the interests we had expressed. A separate and limited list of potential sites along the way was provided, but none of them were identified on RwGPS, so we relied primarily on our own research to enrich the route with stops and side visits that added value.
Perhaps the biggest issue was that we had a tough time trying to meet the 3pm bike return on the last day - and were ultimately a little late and under pressure. We typically needed until 6pm each day to enjoy the sites along the way and would recommend that the last day be scheduled as a full day before bike returns.

Bike, Barge, Fine Dining!
Amsterdam to Cologne along the IJssel and Rhine
What a super trip! The Merlin is a beautiful barge and the crew exceptionally welcoming. Meals were gourmet, the scenery beautiful, and the cycling was so perfect. Ilsa was a terrific guide - the picture of patience, a font of knowledge, and an expert cyclist. The small group size meant we were able to become acquainted with each other very quickly, which was fun. The staterooms were so comfortable and inviting. Superb service. This trip certainly exceeded my expectations.

Charming urban oasis

Gliding through the peaceful paths of Vondelpark was a wonderful, scenic break from the city bustle, with beautiful trees and lots of birdsong. The history of the park's sinking ground levels was also a fascinating fact to learn!

This trip had it all - new friends, good food, interesting and beautiful cities, history and bicycling. However the bicycling was quite easy. I wish the route maps were updated so that we could have added more miles and ridden on our own especially when the groups were quite large.

Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Fluvius (and reverse)
Very good ride. So much to see along the way and relatively easy. Planning with biketours.com worked well and our back and forth communication during the planning process was as expected. Pre-travel materials were accurate, and we were well prepared upon arrival in Europe. In country, Boat Bike Tours did a nice job. The boat was clean and well-staffed with friendly people. The bikes worked well, however we were not able to bring our own pedals and saddles as we have been able to swap them out on previous rides with biketours.com. Apart from blowing out the bearings on a pedal, we had no issues with the bikes. We went self guided and the directions via the Ride with GPS app were spot on and accurate. Highlights, bathrooms, restaurants along the route were highlighted and worth the visit. We liked having options on some days as well with a couple choices on rides. Though I enjoy staying in the different small European cities along the way and having our luggage transported on previous rides, the boat worked well, especially for those that wanted to take a day off due to rain or winds. For the most part, the boat parked in excellent locations making it easy to explore on your own. There was no curfew on the boat, so you could come and go as you please for the most part. Part of the trip is not riding, but on the boat. This is primarily through industrial areas, which was interesting because we traveled through multiple locks. We traveled with two vegans, and were told during planning process that they could not accommodate these diets, but the staff were eventually able to make vegan meals for the two which was not expected, but welcome none the less (thank you Firas on board the Fluvius!). Note that helmets were included on the boat free of charge, so don't pay the 10 Euro to rent one.
