This was our 3rd ride with Biketours. It was a fantastic and enjoyable as the previous 2. The local tour company did a great job with the app and book for navigation. The upscale lodging was just that. All fantastic and of course the European breakfast can't be beat. The Danube path was mostly flat, well-marked, and full of highlights—Passau’s charm, the Wachau Valley, Melk Abbey, and Vienna’s grandeur. Daily luggage transfers made travel easy, and we enjoyed the freedom to stop for coffee, pastries, or wine tastings whenever we wanted. Comfortable inns, great food, and stunning scenery made each day memorable. Arriving in Vienna by bike felt like a real accomplishment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a scenic, flexible, and stress-free cycling vacation.

What a great trip. Great weather, easy to follow routing, bike paths most of the way and very few hills!!
The accommodations were perfect, and the choice of towns and cities to overnight in were great.
We spent extra days in Vienna and Budapest and both cities are a delight to visit.
Overall a fantastic experience. -

A ride on the river
· Danube Bike Path 8 Nights (Upscale Lodging)
A great trail averaging 30 miles/day for 7 days of riding. Most of the trail was well marked , paved and no cars. Most along the river but some going thru cobblestone streets in small towns, farm fields, orchards , vinyards or woods. The accommodations were mostly first class . Rooms in Tulln Best Western were tiny but Great hotels in Vienna and Durnstein. Large, very good breakfasts everywhere we stayed. We looked at both barge and hotel based trips and were very glad we chose hotels as it allowed us to more easily see the towns we were staying in. Most of the people we saw were on electric bike but 5 in our group had pedal bikes with no problems. We were fortunate as the weather was cool with no rain.
Our hardest time was navigating thru Vienna streets, bike paths to get to our hotel which was great location and worth the hassle.
Highly recommend this trip. Already looking for another trip a year from now.

Wonderful Trip

Bike tours arranged a wonderful trip for us. The hotels were all first class with great accommodations, food, and friendly staff. The breakfasts were amazing! The route was well planned with interesting sights, charming villages, and famous landmarks. Our luggage was almost always to the hotels before we arrived (except on our short biking day). The riding was almost all downhill. We had a variety of hotel styles that were all clean. The routes along the way weaved through differing scenery. Tour operator gave us great support in dealing with a tire problem. They contacted a near by bike shop and the shop was waiting for us to quickly change out the tire when we arrived. Navigation was sometimes challenging in the canyons of city buildings but that was due to weak GPS signals so it was fun to just look around and figure it out. Similarly, while rafting the Grand Canyon our GPS showed us floating over monsterous bluffs.
Over all I recommend that if you have the health and the savings, you should do this now while either one is gone. -

We had a great time on our ride down the Danube. The hotels were excellent. The towns we stayed in were interesting. We rode 50-60 miles a day which was a good distance. We rode from Vienna to. Budapest. I would go on a longer trip next time

All in all an excellent trip. The bike tour team in Europe and the U. S. were very helpful and friendly. The navigation app on the whole was helpful, but at times didn’t work. The hotels varied from excellent to good. The directions to the Barokk Hotel (Gyor) were confusing. The bikes were excellent. We had no issues.

Hotels exceeded expectations…except 1 palace.
Pedalo app was excellent….a few small errors.
Unable to get a proper fitting helmet. One size does not fit all. Ended up buying a large helmet.

Romantic Danube
· Danube Bike Path 8 Nights (Upscale Lodging)
This was our fourth time riding this trip. One can never tire riding this beautiful cycle path, the beautiful countryside, small town’s and villages, farms, orchards, city centers and buildings that are hundreds of years old, castles, etc. We prefer to go with the “Upscale Version “, perhaps a reflection of our age. The hotels and locations were excellent.
We select the upgraded bikes and they were in perfect condition. We combined the “Tauren Krimml to Passau “ cycle route on this trip and enjoyed the ride immensely.

Fantasic experince!!!
· Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
We enjoyed our trip from Passau to Austria. The local tour operator, Pedalo, did a great job interfacing with the hotels, moving our luggage and taking care of any issues with our bikes. Gave us everything we needed to succeed!
A few notes:
a) Be aware that the first two days are among the longer legs of the trip, so be prepared to leave early those days
b) The route goes on both sides of the Danube pretty much continuously, with a few diversions onto local roads from separated bike paths. You do not have to follow the recommended route if you want to check out something on the other side or save a few Euros from the bike ferries, but the planned route is a good one to follow. If you just follow the R1 / Danauweg signs toward the right towns you will be fine.
c) The hotels vary widely in quality and level of staffing. Check them out yourself during the booking process.We used regular bikes - if you choose e-bikes be sure you understand the range capabilities and where you can charge your bikes in the middle of the day if needed.

· Danube Family Tour 7 Nights
This was a great way for the our kids & grandkids to see the Danube River and learn about European history. The hotels were all very nice and well located in the towns. The segment distances were very good for the children ages 7, 10, & 12. The 7 year old was on the tow behind with Dad so those distances were good for him too. There were numerous places to stop and rest along the way which was nice. The luggage transfer was great and our luggage almost always arrived before we did.
We were 7 in total and it was an amazing trip to be together.
We arrived in Linz early and spent most of an afternoon at the ARS Electronic Center and the kids really enjoyed that.
The weather was all over the place cool the first two days and then it changed to very warm so be prepared for weather changes along the way.- What was the date of your tour?

Foi maravilhoso visitat quatro países que não conhecíamos. Fizemos uma viagem em família e a equipe do Princesa Katharina manteve o clima, nos alocando com outra família - extremamente simpática e com a qual tivemos excelentes momentos - para além das refeições, encontramo-nos em alguns dos passeios, de tanto que nos demos bem. Todos no navio foram receptivos, com destaque aos funcionários - sobretudo a guia Michaela, também brasileira e extremamente prestativa. Visitamos lugares para os quais jamais iríamos se não tivéssemos esse roteiro, paisagens maravilhosas no interior de países que, apesar de tão próximos, têm características bastante marcantes. Adoramos, também, conhecer algumas capitais: isso tornou a viagem mais animada. Sem dúvida, os pontos fortes desse tipo de passeio foram a facilidade de transporte: afinal, não precisávamos nos deslocar a todo momento com as bagagens, pois nosso “hotel” todo se deslocava. Isso evitava cansaço e desgaste, permitindo que a energia fosse poupada para passeios de bicicleta: vias muito bem sinalizadas, mapas bons, guias sempre dispostos e lindas perspectivas do Danúbio. Não posso deixar de comentar sobre os deliciosos pratos que comemos, além das opções diversas e frescas do café da manhã/almoço. Amamos os passeios a que fomos, além de alguns pratos típicos que o próprio navio ofertou (como o Snitzel. Obrigado por essas férias incríveis, Princesa Katharina!

Wonderful experience
· Danube River and Black Sea
This tour was a great way to experience NE Bulgaria and a slice of Romania. The guides were awesome and we were well cared for. It was extremely hot and they ensured we had sufficient water and breaks at all times. Deyan shared a wealth of information about the cultural and historical aspects of each area. We appreciated having e-bikes (which were in excellent condition) as it was very hilly at times. That said, the other people in our group were very fit and managed fine with standard bicycles. There was more dirt road riding than expected, however that was necessary in this part of Bulgaria/Romania. Hotels were generally decent and the best available considering the rural locations. Scenery was beautiful and there was a wealth of cultural and historical/archeological sites. The Bulgarian and Romanian people we encountered with very friendly and hospitable. Overall we were very pleased with this tour and enjoyed learning more about this part of Eastern Europe.

All bike tours are not equal

We are experienced bike tourists and have used several bike tour companies as well as planning our own tours. For this tour in particular: Accommodations were all very nice. The luggage transfers were timely and efficient and Roman, the driver, was great. The GPS worked well. The bikes were average and in good repair. A suggestion would be to have various saddle options. Overall the items and logistics of the bike tour co operator were in control of were very good. Specific to our experience, the actual mileages were different than initial itinerary causing final day plans in Budapest to be foiled. In our opinion, this stretch of the Danube radweg is not as scenic as the Passau to Vienna section. To no one’s fault, our specific tour was plagued by extreme heat and 3 days of solid torrential rain, which made this a less than ideal experience. Tour operator came through to try to assist us with alternative transportation options, which we appreciate.
