12 day bike trip
Portugal's Coastal Splendor from Porto to Lisbon
My wife and I did the 12 day bike trip from Porto to Lisbon in early September. We did this self guided. For the most part, we felt that the hotels that we stayed in were nice and that there were plenty of great places to eat in the various towns. The downside was that many of the dirt roads were so bad that in many instances, we were only making 5 miles an hour as the roads were so bumpy or loose sand, and gravel that you couldn’t go any faster. The effect was it made many days relatively easy rides quite difficult and not enjoyable. There were a few instances where the climb exceeded a 20% grade and that again was on loose Gravel and we were forced to walk up that instead of trying to climb that on a heavy bike out of the saddle and risk a wreck. Due to the length of time we rode our bikes on bad roads we ended up not spending as much time in the various cities as we had hoped to do. So I think in the future, we’ll try to figure out how we can stay in a few select cities for multiple days so that we can enjoy the area a little bit more.

What a trip!!’
Cycling Albania from the Mountains to the Ionian Sea
What an adventure!! We loved this trip. From the start Elvis was great to deal with and was quick to reply and help us with any questions from trip logistics down to restaurant suggestions and fascinating facts about Albania. Kleard was our tour support and he was just amazing from telling us about unique stops to check out to dealing with any bike issues.
The hotels were wonderful, the food is fresh and sooo delicious, the people we met were lovely and the scenery was breathtaking!! What a beautiful country from the mountains, through the olive groves and the city of stones to the Ionian sea! We rented e-bikes and totally recommend that- it allowed us to enjoy the scenery, the hills and the ‘flats’! We all highly recommend this tour! Beautiful views!!
Exploring Italy's Sunny Salento by Bike
Loved every day except the first one. The roads were horrible and not much for scenery. Needed a proper cycle bags to carry coats etc if needed. Hotels were awesome. GPS was great.

Along the Rhône River from Geneva to Lyon
Good time of year to go. Great scenery, the GPS route was easy to follow, and the Rhona is also highly marked with signs as well. Many nice stops along the way. 1st day is challenging without an E-bike. Hotel stays were also very nice.

Peaceful Mosel
Mosel Bike Path: Dreamy Mosel Valley from Trier to Koblenz
Riding along the Mosel was peaceful, beautiful, and fascinating. To see the ingenuity, commitment, and caring of vineyards on the steep inclines of the bluffs along the Mosel created amazement and interest. The trail at time were easy enough to allow a lot of gazing. However, there were also paths with surprises, i.e. blind turns that suddenly led to a steep incline, rather narrow paths along side the road, and sometimes narrow gravel paths. But, some of that, I guess, can be expected. We did have trouble downloading the navigation system and called Pedalo Company for help. Johannas came to the rescue, but with much effort to get us setup. We were very pleased with all the hotels except for our last one, Mecure Hotel in Koblenz, it was adequate, but we were quite spoiled by the others and the standard was not quite as high as the previous ones. A bigger problem at the Mecure was their inadequate bike storage, i.e. the bike cage had no electrical outlets for eBikes, so, the hotel had to store the bikes in a different area until charged and we could only charge one at a time. Upon the completion of charging, we had to take the bikes down to the bike cage. Another problem with the Pedalo agenda was the wine tasting. There was little help in telling us if we could bike or walk there, it was difficult to find, and the tour guide of the tasting said she would translate her 45 min. presentation in English now and then, but failed to. I was able, with my limited German, to understand most of it, but my friend was unable to and was, therefore, left out of the information. The wine we tasted was excellent, however! FYI, at Hotel Kessler Meyer in Cochem, do not trust google maps to get you to the hotel. It takes you to a dead end after a very steep street incline. Call the hotel for an easier way. In spite of those concerns, the trip down the Mosel was beautiful and overall thoroughly enjoyed.

The Magnificent Dolomites
Bicycle Paths of the Dolomites (based in one hotel)
This a dream place, if mountains are your pleasure! The paths are well marked and take you through some glorious scenery! We stayed at Hotel Laurin, which is a family owned hotel that works to accommodate its guests. Returning to the same hotel after a day of riding and then enjoying the sauna, pool, and lounging areas adds to the rejuvenating aspect of the vacation. But one of the best things about Hotel Laurin is the fantastic 5 course dinners and the wonderful breakfasts. I would also like to praise the USA’s BikeTours staff who are very responsive and work to answer all your concerns. Can’t say enough good about this choice for a great vacation!

Exploring the Rhone River Valley
Provence’s History, Landscapes, and Luberon National Park
Adam was an exceptional guide and we truly enjoyed seeing all the little towns and countryside at a slower pace that a bike tour allows. Hotels were all very nice and the meals and delicious French Red and Rose wines from the region were excellent! Looking forward to more tours in the future!

Lovely trip
Sweden’s West Coast: Helsingborg to Gothenburg
This trip was a lovely way to see parts of Sweden from the sea to the horse and vegetable farms, and the charming homes. We went in September so the weather was a bit brisk. We were lucky to miss the often predicted rain during the rides but on some days the wind was very strong especially when we had to ride west with a headwind. Overall the mileage was fine, especially with option to ride shorter routes. There were only a few hills. We wished there were more options of places to stop on the way for a drink or lunch but overall it was a lovely ride. We also never met anyone from the tour as we had to pick up our bikes from a bike shop who didn't understand how to adjust the bikes. We also thought, although trivial, not getting a water bottle (good advertisement for them) was unusual. This is our fifth bike European bike and have always received a bottle. Fortunately we had each brought one so we didn't have to buy one there.

Great way to explore two cities and everything in between
Berlin – Copenhagen
We saw some very pretty countryside and especially enjoyed riding in rural Denmark, with very few cars and frequent glimpses of various bays and waterways. Most accommodations were quite good.

Fantastic trip
Albarracín to Valencia Along Spain's Longest Greenway
Well organized. Excellent scenery. I would suggest planning a day off between day three and four. This lets beginners get a break from seat fatigue before continuing on. Experienced riders would have no issue with the existing itinerary.

Great location and great rides

The rides were as described and beautiful. The hotel was outstanding with bountiful breakfasts and amazing and delicious dinners. The rating is a 4 because the bike rental company did not provide the bikes and gear we understood that we were getting when we signed up and essentially had to beg for what we paid for.

Tour of a lifetime!
Medieval Villages of Catalonia
We came from Canada and were utterly enchanted by the beauty and wonder we found on our 7-day Medieval Villages Tour hosted by Daniel at Creative Catalonia. This tour exceeded our very high expectations.
We loved the ease of connections between the outstanding hotels - each one packed with views, comfort, luxury and amazing breakfasts. The digital maps and tracking were brilliant support, and Daniel helped us immediately if we had any issues. We did have a flat tire, but we had all we needed to fix it and get back on the road quickly. And Daniel replaced our inner tube that day. We could focus entirely on the adventures offered every day of the tour.
And the adventures! From discovering the great food and beauty of the Costa Brava, to the history, charm and calm of the villages we cycled through, we felt fully immersed in each experience. We stopped often and took in many sights and opportunities - the Dali Castle, the beaches, and the village of Pals were highlights, but every day the cycling and the sights were fabulous.
We opted for electric bikes, and in our 60’s that was a wonderful choice. We also opted for the 7th day mountain climb - and we are so glad we did, we will never forget the views, and the bragging rights will last a life time. The electric bikes made all the difference, we wouldn’t have been able to make the trek without them. And the 12 km mountain decent was worth every penny - what a payoff, absolutely the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike!

Ireland in September
Wild Atlantic Way Cycling
It was a wonderful experience for our group. We got to experience the different landscapes and variety of terrain along the western coast. Without exception, the nightly hosts were attentive to any needs and delivered clean, comfortable quarters and fantastic food. The app was extremely useful well laid out once you got the hang of it. I'd definitely recommend this trip and this company for other trips.

One week like few seconds
Innsbruck to Lake Garda Across the Southern Slopes of the Alps
We took our ride from Innsbruck to Lake Garda at the beginning of September and we were lucky for sunny weather. Electric bikes were quite new, but they belonged to the urban types. They worked on those flat and asphalt paths that dominated but they would be deceiving on the gravel paths. The organization of luggage transport and the quality of the hotels were perfect and the alpine landscapes as you might expect were gorgeous. Local tour operator guys were friendly and helpful.

Good and bad
Algarve Coastal Route
Everyone we worked with was very friendly and helpful. The equipment served us well except that there was a hole in one of the spare tubes. Accommodations were nice and we enjoyed the breakfasts. The riding itself was harder than we expected, both in terms of hilliness and quality of trails (rocky, washed out in spots). Unfortunately, at times we were so focused on riding safely that we were not able to appreciate the scenery. We also had some problems with navigation. It was helpful to have the Ride with GPS app for times when the provided GPS unit failed. We also could have used written notes in places where our next move was less obvious. For example, when the trail was not visible because we had to cross train tracks to get to it, or in places where we were supposed to turn off of paved surfaces on to small trails. We have taken many bike trips throughout the US ands Europe and this was the most challenging for the above reason.

A great intro to bike touring
Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest
This was a fairly gentle tour along the river, passing through and staying in some lovely picturesque cities and towns. The scenery was sometimes pretty but lengthy sections could be monotonous. This isn't anyone's fault - it's the official Euro Velo route.
On two days, train tickets were provided, presumably to limit the distance ridden, but, on both occasions, we elected to ride, making the longest days a touch over 80km and there was ample range in the ebikes for that. The bikes were great and appeared almost brand new. I would, however, recommend a pair (or two) of bike shorts or your own saddle.
The (optional) phone app from the local tour operator (Pedalo) was generally good for navigation, though a distance countdown for the day's ride would be a great addition.
However, we only stumbled over information about the day 1 briefing and bike handover in the app at the last second. More proactive communication (a welcome email a couple of days out?) would have been helpful. Pedalo support was good when we needed to contact them, though.- What was the date of your tour?
