Switzerland on wheels
Swiss Lakes by E-bike: Lake Geneva to Lake Lucerne
A perfect way to experience Switzerland! The trail was well marked and the app worked well. All but one hotel was amazing. We had no problems with our luggage. It was in our room when we arrived.

Informative, varied, engaging, active tour
UNESCO Sites of Albania
The tour, although a group of 22, was well-organized, orderly and congenial. The Guide and Driver/Bike Mechanic were experienced, knowledgeable and patient. The route gave a good overview of the South’s historical sites and the guide’s pride in his homeland was charming. Riding a regular bike, one of 4 (the other 18 were on e-bikes), I never felt left behind and always had enough time to rest at our regular stops. The restaurants served delicious, nutritious meals to fuel us and the route was largely on quiet roads with challenging, but not too daunting ascents and exhilarating descents.

The Best Way to Experience the Countryside Between Innsbruck and Vienna
Innsbruck to Salzburg: Through the Alps Along River Cycle Trails
This was a very well organized and well thought out way to experience the beautiful countryside between Innsbruck and Vienna. Chris at the bicycle rental shop in Innsbruck was very helpful and provided us with handlebar mounts for our phones to easily view GPS tracks, bicycle repair tools (including tire levers, spare inner tube, patch kit, hand pump, and CO2 inflator) and lock and pannier bags. Bicycles have been well maintained and were well suited for this tour. My wife used an e-bike whereas I used a 24 speed hybrid bicycle with a triple crankset giving me a wide range of gearing just in case it got hilly. Accommodations were good, mostly lodging facilities intended for winter skiing, with very good European breakfasts and excellent Austrian coffee. Our luggage was always available at the hotel when we arrived. I am 70 years old and have toured by bicycle throughout the United Staes since my teenage years but I found this tour far more enjoyable since the route we took was mostly on paved or crushed stone bicycle paths without auto traffic to deal with (in the United States I have bicycled through many beautiful national and state parks but have always had to deal with automobile traffic making it more difficult to enjoy the natural beauty). On this tour there are a few miles (but only a few miles) where we did need to ride with auto traffic in the cities. There are also some backroads and roads through neighborhoods that have very little auto traffic. There were a few very minor hiccups with the GPS tracks and the bicycle path signage. Although we found the GPS tracks very useful, on very rare occasion there were times that the GPS tracks did not perfectly match with the bicycle path signage which led to a little confusion but this was easily resolved after checking Google Maps. It was great that a shuttle was provided from Zell am Ziller to Krimml since the highway between these two towns is fairly steep and narrow with lots of auto traffic. The shuttle also got us to Krimml in time for us to hike up to the Krimml waterfalls. It was also nice that the shuttle took us to a higher elevation which resulted in a down hill coast on our bicycles the next morning. We were fortunate to have a layover day in Zell am See since it was the only day to rain on this tour. Although we are comfortable riding in the rain it is something we like to avoid which can be challenging to do in Austria. There were also a couple of minor hiccups with our lodging but these were quickly resolved by a phone call to Helmut Wagner, the bicycle tour operator. When we arrived at the hotel in Zell am See there was no one at the reception desk and we later found out we needed to go to the hotel next door to check in. When we arrived in at the hotel in Salzburg we were told by the reception personnel that we would need to pay for our room but again a phone call to Helmut Wagner quickly resolved this issue. I mention these minor inconveniences so one is prepared to be flexible and not to panic since these issues are easily resolved. Overall, the experience was most enjoyable and the scenery amazing. I strongly recommend this tour for anyone that enjoys bicycle touring through very scenic mountain valleys and historic towns. I am thankful that biketours.com has vetted this tour and made it easy and affordable to experience. nice trip, beautiful countryside
Best of Slovenia: Highlights Across the Country From Bled to Piran
beautiful countryside, cycling nice, trip about 3 days too long, some of the places we visited though pleasant had little of interest. the accommodation was 3 star quality all the way apart from perhaps Piran and Bled. the M hotel as mentioned in many previous posts is a disappointment in Ljubljana as it is too far out of town which ruined the evening there.

Albania welcomes you!
UNESCO Sites of Albania
This was an enjoyable ride with some absolutely gorgeous mountain ranges and coastlines. There are no bike baths on this ride except for the first day. The rest of the time you are on roads with varying degrees of vehicle traffic. Rarely a car in sight in the country but they are constant along the coast and towns. Accommodations were relatively modest but clean. If you are looking for 4 star hotels and amenities it won't be on this trip. Every lodge had a continental breakfast, some were definitely better than others. The visit to the monastery of St. Naum was worth the extra ride the first day. 2nd day ride to Korçë was decent not overwhelming. However, thanks to a tip from Lilliana at the Hotel we had dinner at a delicious steak house called "Repulika". Off a little side street with not so great signage. Best meal of the whole trip. The best part of the day 3 ride to Sotire was the last 3 or 4 mile climb up into the forest. The cabins were a treat and being way out in the country was delightful. The ride to Permet was when the mountains came into full view. Beautiful ride. Would recommend riding to the Stone Bridge to check out the thermal pools which are about 4 miles past the lodging. The word thermal is a misnomer. If you have time, take a long walk past the bridge up through the canyon to get away from the crowd around the bridge. The ride to Gjirokaster was manageable and relatively car free. However when getting closer to town the vehicle traffic increased. Gjirokaster is a pretty touristy enclave. The castle is worth the visit if only for the views. Sarande & Himare were beautiful seaside towns. Sarande was larger and had more bustle to it. If you are planning a layover day you can take a day ferry over to Corfu. We prefered Himare, but the city center was a short bike ride from the hotel. All in all I would recommend this trip. It had a great range of topography from farmlands to forest to mountains to coastlines. I would highly recommend an ebike unless you are in superior shape. No fun pedaling with your head down for hours on end. Do your work outs at home. You're on vacation! Go now because in 10 years this will be a very different country

Italy countryside ride
Cycling in the Heart of Puglia
Really enjoyed the rides through olive orchards and the hotel hosts were spectacular....shout out to Stephano in Putignano! The add-ons were wonderful ..wine tasting, olive oil tasting, Ostuni little car tour; very informed and enthusiastic. presenters. Please consider having all bikes include fenders as weather is unpredictable and many of the roads are sandy.

Garonne Canal: From Bordeaux to Toulouse
Overall a very pleasant week. Ride was beautiful, weather was great, and accommodations were good. Although a couple were difficult to reach since they were a distance away from the canal. One disappointment was the misleading information that I would receive some detail instructions from the agency if I paid 35 euros each ( total of 70 for 2) for the “SaddleUp” option. No one from the agency showed up and the gentleman at the bike shop adjusted my seat and told me to cross the bridge and turn right and I would find the trail. Hardly worth 70 euros. Appears to be a way to jack the profit while providing no additional service.

Historical-Adevnture- Amazing guides
Danube River and Black Sea
This bike tour was a history lesson on wheels. We started by visiting the WW1 Museum for an amazing experience. Deyan, the owner of the tour company and our guide and daily history lesson instructor was outstanding! His knowledge and enthusiasm of the local history came shining through in his daily lessons. The ride takes you past a large variety of terrain from rolling fields of corn, sunflower and wheat to large orchards of apricots, cherries and peaches. The riding surface included asphalt, dirt and gravel roads. At one point we cycled on an ancient Roman road along the Danube River. We experienced amazing views while riding along the coast off the Black Sea. We had two spur of the moment stops to visit with some locals making traditional Bulgarian Lutenitsa. The locals were eager to share the tradition of making this delicious Bulgarian treat.
Romania and Bulgaria are two countries that are climbing in tourism. Plan your visit before they become new tourists hot spots. You won’t regret it.

German Influences in a Very Different Culture
Alsace Wine Country
This was our tenth European bike tour. We have pedaled many of the countries around Germany, but never in France. Beginning in Strasbourg, the rich history and architecture of the region take their grasp. The first two days were flat and easy, enjoying the quiet between cornfields and canals. The quaint villages along the way are filled with stone and timbered houses, cobblestone streets and ponds with serene swans. Some of the hill country through the grape/wine road presented challenges, but nothing that could not be accomplished. We enjoyed the German influence on the local cuisine, along with the famous wines of the Alsace.

Unique Italy
Piedmont Region: The Italian Garden of Eden
The bike company was great! Excellent notice on all necessary details of where bikes would be, how to operate bikes and how to contact bike company in the event of an emergency.
Which we did need for my husband. They were great and took very good care of him!
Routes were good, not all on bike trails, but on roads with traffic, gravel and some spots poor maintenance.
Hotels and food were good!.

Wonderful biking trip
UNESCO Sites of Albania
Amazing way to explore Albania. We were self-guided, but the guides were helpful in ensuring communicating with us to ensure that our luggage was being transported. Hotels ranged greatly in quality, some were great, all were adequate. Location of hotels was great as well. Bikes were great quality and had no issues (one flat tire). Biking was on roads, some were quite busy. Would have been nice to have more off road biking, but I'm not sure that Albania has those facilities. First bike tour for all of us, and I would definitely do more.

We had a bit of a slow start with the bicycle company & the bicycles. They were not as prepared as the former bike tour/company we biked with the week before.
The majority of the trails were great! Some gravel, but not bad.
