A one of a kind boat bike tour!
Greek Island Adventure by Bike and Sail
I am fairly new to organized tours and of course to boat and bike tours. This trip has introduced me to a great way to see the world combined with my favorite sport-activity - biking and way to travel - by boat.... better still - sailing. The boat? 'Running on Waves' as was evident in the tour photos, is 1st class machine and piece of art and way to travel from port to port. a joy to spend a week on! The Crew? Since arriving at the check in and greeted by Leena and her energy - I've felt like the crew had one focus the entire tour. The guests. They all know their role and made us feel welcome the entire week..... with a smile and true interest in their work. The food? Fueling a troop of hungry bikers 3 times a day is no task for the faint hearted. An extensive buffet and varied meal was always waiting for us. And as for the guided bike rides every day of the tour? Its Greece - and yes - lots of hills. I am a fairly serious road biker - but you may want to go electric. There's a lot to see in Greece above 400 m. Alex is a master at herding biking cats and keeping them happy safe and somewhat educated. He knows the terrain as well as local culture. Its not all biking - stops included an olive press location, Monastery, and Vineyard. From the options I've seen out there - this is a one of a kind tour you might not want to pass up.

The perfect vacation
Greek Island Adventure by Bike and Sail
The perfect trip. A combination of adventure, boating, biking and community - wonderful people, places and activity. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and genuinely friendly. The food was excellent. The bike trips educational as well as great exercise! I would take this trip again anytime.

Croatia Biking and boating
South Dalmatia Bike/E-bike and Boat
Croatia is beautiful and can be challenging for biking. Ebikes made this challenge achievable. Boat was beautiful and comfortable. Food was excellent. Crew and staff were just great - friendly and capable. Guides were energetic and very knowledgeable. Great way to see Croatia. Only complaint was be unable to use credit card for drinks on board. Made calculating cash (and then converting to euros) much harder. Can't see why they don't accept credit cards for that.

Rewarding ride, great boat and crew, fabulous food.,
Venice to Mantova by Bike and Boat (and reverse)
We were very happily rewarded with our choice of boat , direction, and timing for this bike & barge trip across Italy. This was our 4th bike and boat trip and the best! Each of the crew from tour leaders to cooks and boat captain and technician—each fantastic—warm, helpful, supportive, and with good humor. The mix of riders—kismet and wonderful. While we did encounter a few rainy days spirits stayed high and gregarious. And it was far better fir us than extreme hot temperatures of earlier in the year options. The food deserves an award for creativity and top notch flavour, presentation, creativity, and variety. The boat accommodation was very comfortable and in excellent condition. Common space was ample and comfortable. Our biking leaders were fantastic pros—always supportive, knowledgable, and perfect in their guidance of riders. Stefania and Francesco—totally delightful.

A complete joy
Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
What a way to meet Croatia. Fantastic bikes, boat, leaders and group. I had just a fantastic week.... from the first tour (a walk around Split) so interesting. Great rides - some long and some shorter - all fun and interesting.... beautiful views. Lucky to meet a lovely group of riders, all keen and on time. The leaders kept us across everything but never overwhelmed us with info.
Only issue - i found it difficult to locate the boat.... there was no clip board outside on the street and it took 4-5 phone calls with the contact person to finally locate the boat. Others told me they had the same experience. The food was also very good.- What was the date of your tour?

Super trip! You have to do the experience
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique II (and reverse)
C’est un voyage extraordinaire. Incroyable je le recommande fortement à tout le monde qui a envie de s’amuser de se reposer tout en faisant du sport . on faisait en moyenne 58 km par jour parfois moins. Nous avions des arrêts tr’es intéressants. On avait le choix de faire des court ou long parcours . Je ne suis pas la personne très en forme mais avec un E-bike j’ai pu suivre mon mari et tous les autres sans problème. Cherche la batterie le soir et en cas de besoin durant le trajet, il y a toujours des batteries de recharge que les accompagnateurs ont avec eux. En plus on visite des endroits magnifiques. Cela a été une merveilleuse expérience et sincèrement, les employés sur le bateau ont été merveilleux . Tous étaient souriants et aimables. Le capitaine nous a invité à aller faire un tour dans la cabine de navigation très impressionnant. Il était vraiment gentil.

Fantastic Trip!
Pearls of Dalmatia by Bike and Boat, Romantica
What a great way to see the Dalmatian Islands for the first time. The planning and leadership from our guides, Ivan and Martine, were superb, the food on board Romantica was generous and good, and the crew were very helpful. Travelling by sea and bike was a wonderful way to experience the beauty, history and culture of Croatia. Communication and information from Bike Tours was clear and helpful. The trip struck a nice balance by providing time to relax on the boat, time to bike in the mornings and early afternoons, and time to explore on our own the ports we visited. This was our first time doing a boat and bike tour and our expectations were met and exceeded at every point--highly recommended!

Great for solo travellers as well
Enchanting Cyclades and Saronic Islands
I came as a solo traveler and was a bit nervous about joining a group tour, but the friendly crew and fellow guests made it so easy to feel welcome. The blend of island hopping, cycling and swimming in the Aegean Sea was just the right amount of activity and downtime. Great value for a trip that really shows Greece differently.

Best ever bike and barge tour!
Exploring the Neckar and Rhine Rivers and Valleys
We have been on five bike and barge excursions in Europe and this trip was by far the best ever experience in so many ways. Fantastic !
Our trip route had to be rerouted shortly before we started because a lock on the Neckar River was not working properly so no boat traffic was allowed. Instead we biked from Wurzburg to Mainz. The crew must have worked overtime to make modifications for our journey and should be commended for this effort.
The Merlijn barge is without a doubt a classy vessel. The barge was remodeled recently and it was truly a pleasure to travel on it. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. The bathroom as well had nice shower and other upgrades like the lighted and fog free mirror. Plugs for devices were numerous and handy. Storage plentiful.
The crew of five were all very accommodating and hard working. They were a real team and this helped to create a very positive atmosphere. I can’t say enough about how each crew member helped to make the trip so memorable
The food was gourmet. Each day we started with a healthy breakfast ; we received a packed lunch. When returned from biking we had snacks and were WOWED with outstanding dinners. Truly incredible service and hospitality.
The biking paths were mostly paved and our stops in the small towns and villages for breaks and lunches were so much fun because you get the opportunity to see Germany. Thomas our leader was experienced and always concerned about safety. The riders had helmets outfitted with technology so he could communicate as we rode giving directions, cautions and interesting
points of interest. A review of the next days ride was explained after dinner each night. Almost every evening after dinner Thomas took us for an excursion around the town where we were docked. Because our riding route was changed Thom had to scramble to re familiarize himself with the path so he should get extra credit for this effort. There were 24 on this tour and it was well organized with safety a priority. ( I personally prefer smaller groups).
The route itself was fine especially given the last minute modifications. The paths well marked and very few challenges. Cobblestones in the towns we visited do require riders to be mindful.
We loved the trip. Our fellow passengers were very friendly and upbeat.

Beautiful islands of Greece
Enchanting Cyclades and Saronic Islands
This trip was very enjoyable overall. The cycling routes were well planned and offered a nice variety of scenery, from quiet coastal roads to small island towns. The boat was comfortable and a pleasant place to relax after the rides, and the onboard chef did a great job — the meals were definitely one of the highlights. The group was friendly and diverse, which made for a relaxed and easy atmosphere throughout the week.
If there’s one thing I’d change, it would be to have dinner on board each evening instead of lunch, as it would be a nicer way to end the day together.

I've been looking forward to this trip for so long
Enchanting Cyclades and Saronic Islands
This trip was an absolute joy on so many levels. The cycling routes were beautiful, the boat was a perfect place to relax, and the onboard chef was fantastic. Our group was a great mix of nationalities — four couples and three solo travelers — which made for a fun and friendly atmosphere. One of the couples was actually on their honeymoon, adding a lovely and positive energy to the experience. The crew was professional and pleasant, though they kept a bit more to themselves than on some other trips — perhaps understandable, as it’s the end of a long season for them.

Great experience

Boat accommodations, staff and meals were excellent. Excursions were excellent. Tour director was excellent. Internet and cell services were spotty. Navigation app did not work consistently. Some days there was not enough time to stop and see things along the bike route.

Lovely trip
Danube Experience Bike and Boat Passau-Vienna-Budapest-Belgrade-Iron Gates-Passau
There was an unforeseen closure of the Danube due to bridge construction. This caused us to spend extra time on the boat. We had 2 full days on the boat with almost nothing to do. I think there could have been a bit of planning to provide activities in the event that plans change. They did give a class on how to change a bike tire which was good but that only took an hour. Dance or knitting classes, group games, contests, something to occupy a very active biking group would have been great.
The packing instruction seem to have been written for a shorter trip. There was plenty of room under the beds for luggage. There is no place in the rooms to set up a clothes line to dry clothing.
