NOT QUITE AS EXPECTED
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique III (and reverse)
If you are expecting a leisurely bike ride along a well-marked path, plenty of time to stop for pictures and sightseeing, you will probably be disappointed. The route is not a dedicated, clearly-marked bike path along the river from Bruges to Brussels. It is so long and convoluted that even a guide got lost — twice.
Participants who don’t pay extra for a guided tour are provided a GPS app to navigate the route. Those accustomed to using GPS did o.k. We got lost right away. The GPS wasn’t much help since the signal was weak. We made it to the first town on the route where we ran into the guided tour group and decided to follow them. Some of the group members said the guide had gotten lost before we met up with them. She got lost again after we joined them. A 30-mile bike ride turned into a 55-mile ride after all the back tracking. Batteries on most of the e-bikes expired. One rider was so exhausted that she collapsed on the side of the road. We went past historic windmills, but the guide said little or nothing about them.
On another day, a different guide (after the previous incident, the trip became a guided tour for all), took us speedily through rugged, forested terrain that was more suitable for a mountain bike. It was all we could do to keep up, even though most participants rode their own bikes regularly at home. The route also included short stretches through busy, urban areas.
During the trip, there were numerous spills and a few non-incapacitating injuries. One person had bloody scrapes on her leg, which a passing good Samaritan bandaged. One scraped and bruised rider was possibly saved from a concussion by her helmet. While regular bikes are also available, E-bikes are heavy and harder to balance, especially on take-off.
The boat portion of the trip was much more enjoyable. The boat literally glided down the canal. The rooms were spotless and the crew friendly and courteous. The chef, who announced each night’s offering in a charming way, prepared meals on par with an upscale restaurant. That salvaged what otherwise would have been a rough ride.

Beautiful day with excellent bike tour in this magic city
Bruges City Bike Tour
It is the great way to see and expirience this lovely city because you have enough time to see all main landmarks and also to hear some interesting stories and historical facts from your guide. Our guide Kim was very proffesional and helphful, she knew so many about Brugge and Belgia afterall, so it was as interesting as it was instructive. I would recommend everybody coming here for the first time to enjoy exploring city through this bike tour.

Super trip! You have to do the experience

C’est un voyage extraordinaire. Incroyable je le recommande fortement à tout le monde qui a envie de s’amuser de se reposer tout en faisant du sport . on faisait en moyenne 58 km par jour parfois moins. Nous avions des arrêts tr’es intéressants. On avait le choix de faire des court ou long parcours . Je ne suis pas la personne très en forme mais avec un E-bike j’ai pu suivre mon mari et tous les autres sans problème. Cherche la batterie le soir et en cas de besoin durant le trajet, il y a toujours des batteries de recharge que les accompagnateurs ont avec eux. En plus on visite des endroits magnifiques. Cela a été une merveilleuse expérience et sincèrement, les employés sur le bateau ont été merveilleux . Tous étaient souriants et aimables. Le capitaine nous a invité à aller faire un tour dans la cabine de navigation très impressionnant. Il était vraiment gentil.

Wonderful

I love the bike/boat mode of travel. The biking and the App were great. The food was excellant. My one complaint was that it was billed as an English language tour, but more than half the group was German speaking. There was a head guide and an assistant and the head was much better, but spent the majority of his time with the German speakers.

Bruges City Bike Tour
This was an excellent bike tour - and my husband and I have been on a number of city bike tours in Europe. Our guide was fun, well informed, and friendly. Bruges is a wonderful city to see by bike. Highly recommend!

Excellent bike tour of Brussels!
Best of Brussels Bike Tour
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. We covered a lot of ground in just a couple of hours, and felt like we saw many neighbourhoods and learned a great deal about the city. Our guide was well informed, friendly and interesting. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed city walking tours and biking during the day. Boat was comfortable and food was good. Staying on the boat is much easier than packing each morning and finding the hotel for the next night. Local beer selection was nice. I was unaware of cash only policy on board. This caused concern, but final bill was manageable with the cash I had.

Great way to see Belgium and The Netherlands! Such beautiful scenery along the bike routes. Riding was mainly on a path. Tour guides were wonderful ensuring everyone’s safety and giving us history of the area along the route.

Wonderful vacation

Great food, great new friends, beautiful countryside. Memet and Tom were funny, caring, and knowledgeable guides. The whole boat crew was very attentive and friendly. Amazing Trip
Amsterdam to Bruges: Cycling through South Holland and Zeeland
Really amazing trip, as the paths in the Netherlands and Belgium are first-rate and a biker's haven. Pieter from our tour company was awesome. We were able to explore the countryside of Belgium and the Netherlands in ways that a car trip would not have allowed us, plus staying on a very comfortable boat, with great food and the possibility of making good friends! Our first trip to Belgium, Holland and the city of Amsterdam. What an amazing way to travel. Each day was filled so many local and historical sites and information through our lovely tour guides. It was structured and accommodating for all abilities of riders. The boat was immaculate and the staff worked hard to greet us in the morning and back after our daily rides.

Great, fun, educational 3 hour bike tour
Best of Brussels Bike Tour
Our guide Ahmed really did make the whole experience great. So knowledgeable, fun and took us to some lovely neighbourhoods we would never have seen or been to. Great value. Lovely stop for frites or a beer/glass of wine. Highly recommend. Would do the same tour when back. Electric bikes did help on a couple of hills but weren't really needed. Thumbs up.

This trip had it all - new friends, good food, interesting and beautiful cities, history and bicycling. However the bicycling was quite easy. I wish the route maps were updated so that we could have added more miles and ridden on our own especially when the groups were quite large.
