This was an excellent bike tour - and my husband and I have been on a number of city bike tours in Europe. Our guide was fun, well informed, and friendly. Bruges is a wonderful city to see by bike. Highly recommend!

Boat bike 3

Enjoyed city walking tours and biking during the day. Boat was comfortable and food was good. Staying on the boat is much easier than packing each morning and finding the hotel for the next night. Local beer selection was nice. I was unaware of cash only policy on board. This caused concern, but final bill was manageable with the cash I had.
I have met with friends to tell them how good a boat and bike tour is to travel. They are planning for next year. -

Great way to see Belgium and The Netherlands! Such beautiful scenery along the bike routes. Riding was mainly on a path. Tour guides were wonderful ensuring everyone’s safety and giving us history of the area along the route.

Great food, great new friends, beautiful countryside. Memet and Tom were funny, caring, and knowledgeable guides. The whole boat crew was very attentive and friendly. The chef did a fire dance one night, in addition to preparing excellent food. We definitely are planning for more bike and boat trips, based on this wonderful first experience.

· Amsterdam to Bruges: Cycling through South Holland and Zeeland
Really amazing trip, as the paths in the Netherlands and Belgium are first-rate and a biker's haven. Pieter from our tour company was awesome. First-rate bikes and the GPS on this trip were flawless, which is the first time after completing six tours that I could say that. Additionally, we appreciated the selection of hotels on this tour. Definitely looking forward to another bike trip in Holland.

A must-have trip for those who love cycling and travel!

We were able to explore the countryside of Belgium and the Netherlands in ways that a car trip would not have allowed us, plus staying on a very comfortable boat, with great food and the possibility of making good friends! It is an easy track for those who are not very athletic but are used to biking.

Our first trip to Belgium, Holland and the city of Amsterdam. What an amazing way to travel. Each day was filled so many local and historical sites and information through our lovely tour guides. It was structured and accommodating for all abilities of riders. The boat was immaculate and the staff worked hard to greet us in the morning and back after our daily rides.

Great, fun, educational 3 hour bike tour

Our guide Ahmed really did make the whole experience great. So knowledgeable, fun and took us to some lovely neighbourhoods we would never have seen or been to. Great value. Lovely stop for frites or a beer/glass of wine. Highly recommend. Would do the same tour when back. Electric bikes did help on a couple of hills but weren't really needed. Thumbs up.

This trip had it all - new friends, good food, interesting and beautiful cities, history and bicycling. However the bicycling was quite easy. I wish the route maps were updated so that we could have added more miles and ridden on our own especially when the groups were quite large.

Very good ride. So much to see along the way and relatively easy. Planning with biketours.com worked well and our back and forth communication during the planning process was as expected. Pre-travel materials were accurate, and we were well prepared upon arrival in Europe. In country, Boat Bike Tours did a nice job. The boat was clean and well-staffed with friendly people. The bikes worked well, however we were not able to bring our own pedals and saddles as we have been able to swap them out on previous rides with biketours.com. Apart from blowing out the bearings on a pedal, we had no issues with the bikes. We went self guided and the directions via the Ride with GPS app were spot on and accurate. Highlights, bathrooms, restaurants along the route were highlighted and worth the visit. We liked having options on some days as well with a couple choices on rides. Though I enjoy staying in the different small European cities along the way and having our luggage transported on previous rides, the boat worked well, especially for those that wanted to take a day off due to rain or winds. For the most part, the boat parked in excellent locations making it easy to explore on your own. There was no curfew on the boat, so you could come and go as you please for the most part. Part of the trip is not riding, but on the boat. This is primarily through industrial areas, which was interesting because we traveled through multiple locks. We traveled with two vegans, and were told during planning process that they could not accommodate these diets, but the staff were eventually able to make vegan meals for the two which was not expected, but welcome none the less (thank you Firas on board the Fluvius!). Note that helmets were included on the boat free of charge, so don't pay the 10 Euro to rent one.

Bike and Barge Adventure

A wonderful week of fresh air, exercise, amazing food, beautiful scenery, and great people.
We cycled through small towns, across farmland, and into large cities. The scenery was spectacular. Having to stop to wait for 100 cows to move from one field to another was a quirky countryside highlight. Traveling down 31 metres by elevator, then cycling through a 521 metre long tunnel under the River Scheldt, and returning to surface level on escalators was a large city highlight.
All of the crew were dedicated, cheerful, and knowledgeable. One of our guides was from Belgium (Jordy) and other from the Netherlands (Hetty) and the friendly banter between them was fun. Hetty shared stories relating to many sights and Jordy bought us local treats to taste.
The host (Vio) and hostess (Sophie) were always ready to help out and were incredibly kind. The chef (Steven) prepared amazing meals and there was always delicious food available. No losing weight, despite the physical activity. When we returned to the barge or watched it sail by as we rode, the crew smiled and waved at us, making us feel like family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from Bruges to Amsterdam aboard the Magnifque IV. The crew was amazing and very responsive and charming. The routes took us through incredible scenery and the tidbits shared by the guides kept us engaged. There wasn't a bad thing about the trip and we can't stop talking about it to our friends. We are looking at which trip to take next. Thank you for a wonderful experience and travel adventure.
