Compact Ljubljana Bike Tour
An efficient, all-encompassing tour of Ljubljana
This guided day tour takes in the best of Ljubljana’s sightseeing in just two hours: New Square, Congress Square, Medieval Ljubljana, gardens of Krakovo, Trnovo, Ljubljanica river, Spica, and the vast and verdant Tivoli park.
You'll begin this city tour in Ljubljana's center, stopping at New Square, with its tiered fountain and views of the Ljubljanica river, before heading to Congress Square, built on the ruins of a medieval monastery and now part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage site. Pedal through Ljubljana's medieval town, taking in its outdoor cafes, ornate Triple Bridge and dignified public buildings, many of which are the work of Jože Plečnik, Slovenia's most famous architect.
Your guide will lead you into the Gardens of Krakovo, allotments enjoyed by local residents, right in the heart of the city. Take in the neo-Romanic church at Trnovo, where your guide will share its history as the location where Slovenia’s greatest poet, France Prešeren, met his lifelong muse. Then, bike along the banks of the Ljubljanica, and admire views of the city's skyline, as you approach the canal around Castle Hill.
Cycling into Spica, explore a landscaped park beautifully built on the river embankment, just minutes from the historical sights of the city center your bike tour has just explored. The park’s name, meaning ‘pointed tip’, refers to the unusual shape of the area, which was once a town beach!
Pedal on to Tivoli Park, Ljubljana’s largest park, and your final stop on this bicycle tour. With hills hugged by woodland and spectacular trails, Tivoli is a top location for Ljubljana’s adventure-loving residents and tourists alike, who enjoy the ornamental landscaping of the gardens and flowerbeds. Cycle along paths lined with chestnut trees and admire numerous fabulous fountains and intriguing statues, as the perfect conclusion to a cycle around all Ljublana's best sights.

quick way to see the highlights
Loved biking in Ljubijana. I would have liked this tour to be a bit longer but it's still a good way to see the main highlights. Lots of good places to eat and drink along the river as well and it's far more affordable than most European cities.
