Eat like the locals

Take a guided tour of Hawaii's gastronomy by bike! Beginning at Waikiki Beach before pedaling through Kapiolani Park, this day tour takes you on an excursion to several exceptional restaurants. Located in the Kaimuki-Kapahulu area of Honolulu, these eateries are beloved by locals but often fly under the radar of visitors to this island. You'll stop at five to six diners, with the cost of food and drinks included in the tour.

Influenced by Polynesian, Asian, European, and American cuisines, Hawaiian cuisine offers a tantalizing fusion of flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Throughout this bicycle tour, your guide will lead you to eateries that emphasize the use of fresh and local ingredients, which are available in abundance on this bountiful island. You'll get a taste of Hawaii's state fish, known as the humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa in Hawaiian, or the reef triggerfish in English.

The islands are renowned for their abundance of fish and seafood more generally, including ahi tuna, mahi-mahi, ono, and opah. These fish are often enjoyed raw in dishes like poke, which has gained popularity world-wide for its delicious flavor and health benefits.

There is no end of treats to appeal to those with a sweet tooth on this family-friendly bike tour. You'll snack on malasada donuts, brought to the island by Portuguese immigrants who came to work in the sugarcane plantations. These donuts were traditionally enjoyed as a sweet, deep-fried treat at the beginning of Lent, but are now served year-round to customers who adore their pillowy texture. The combination of irresistible cuisine and gentle cycling means you’ll end your day tour feeling satiated by both the delicious food and paradisal beauty of Oahu.
