See Holland in its most colorful season on a guided bike and boat tour through the heart of tulip country. Beginning in Amsterdam, you'll cruise and cycle through a landscape of flower fields, canals, green polders, and inviting Dutch towns, with your boat providing a comfortable base along the way.
The route brings together some of the region's essential spring experiences. Visit the spectacular gardens of Keukenhof, discover the historic centers of Haarlem and Leiden, and pedal through the rural Green Heart before following the Amstel River back toward Amsterdam.
Daily Program
Day 1: Amsterdam – Spaarndam – Haarlem

Board the boat in Amsterdam between 12:30 and 1:30 pm, with departure scheduled for 2 pm. Meet the guide, crew, and other travelers as you cruise out of the city toward Spaarndam, a village whose history is closely connected to Holland's system of dikes and waterways. From Spaarndam, begin your first ride with an easy route into Haarlem, your destination for the night.
Day 2: Haarlem – Keukenhof – Leiden
25 mi / 40 km
Ride into Holland's renowned flower-growing district, where the countryside is transformed by colorful bulb fields each spring. The day's centerpiece is Keukenhof Gardens, where you can wander among extensive displays of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other spring flowers. Admission to the gardens is included. You'll finish the day in Leiden, a historic university city of canals, narrow streets, and handsome architecture that is also known as the birthplace of Rembrandt.
Day 3: Leiden – Kudelstaart
28 mi / 45 km
Today's route takes you around the Haarlemmermeer and deeper into Holland's rural landscapes. This enormous polder occupies land that was once beneath one of the country's largest lakes, offering a striking example of the Dutch relationship with water. Continue through the Green Heart, where quiet cycling paths wind among pastures, waterways, farms, and grazing cattle. The day's destination is Kudelstaart, situated beside the lakes and islands of the Westeinderplassen.
Day 4: Kudelstaart – Uithoorn – Amsterdam
25 mi / 40 km
Cycle toward Uithoorn through countryside shaped by peat extraction, drainage, and centuries of land reclamation. This region also contains remnants of the Defence Line of Amsterdam, a historic network of fortifications encircling the capital. From Uithoorn, turn toward Amsterdam and follow the Amstel River as rural scenery gradually gives way to the city. After arriving, enjoy some free time before dinner; afterward, you might explore Amsterdam on foot or take a canal cruise on your own.
Day 5: Amsterdam
Enjoy breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the crew and your fellow travelers. Disembarkation takes place before 10 am, marking the end of the tour.

Surface and terrain
The tour covers 87 miles (140 km) over four cycling days, primarily on flat, paved bike paths and quiet roads, with some rural paths. Holland’s extensive cycling network and minimal elevation make the route well suited to recreational cyclists.
How to get there
Tour Start & End: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Nearest Airport: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS)
Direct trains connect the airport with Amsterdam Central Station in approximately 15–20 minutes. The boat’s embarkation point at Oosterdok is about a 10–15 minute walk from the station or a short taxi ride.
Boarding: 12:30–1:30 pm in Amsterdam. Guests must be aboard by 1:30 pm for the 2 pm departure.
