See Saigon from the saddle

For a sensational bicycle tour of the bustling streets of Saigon, look no further than the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Bike Tour. This fascinating 5-hour ride offers a scintillating exploration of the city, from top sightseeing attractions to secret surprises guaranteed to thrill the senses. Take in the Ho Thi Ky Flower Market, Saigon Train Station, the Thi Nghe Canal, Jade Emperor Pagoda, Sala City of District 2, Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum!

Your sensational city bike tour begins at the magnificent Ho Thi Ky Flower Market, Ho Chi Minh City’s largest flower market. Breathe in the aromas of gently unfurling petals and feast your eyes on a riot of color as you bike past an array of breathtaking blooms. First opened in the 1980s, the Ho Thi Ky Flower Market is affectionately regarded as an authentic icon of old Saigon, serving the city and southern provinces with the finest flowers from Dalat, the Mekong Delta, and even Holland.

Your day tour takes you onwards along the Thi Nghe Canal, an atmospheric waterway lined with luscious trees and offering stunning views of Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll soon pedal up to the Jade Emperor Pagoda, a terrific Taoist pagoda also known as the ‘Luck Sea Temple’. Admire the captivating crimson facade, intricately decorated to honor the supreme Taoist god, Ngoc Hoang (King of Heaven, or Jade Emperor). Built in 1909, this phenomenal pagoda is one of the most intriguing temples in Ho Chi Minh City and a delight for the senses - your eyes will be drawn to the ornate tile work and intricate statues, partially obscured by the curls of pungent smoke issuing from exotic incense.

Cycling on into the Sala City of District 2, discover a resplendent, upmarket residential area within Ho Chi Minh City where the aspirational seek out enviable apartments. Your bicycle tour continues from here to the Saigon Central Post Office in District 1, one of the oldest buildings in the city and one that’s guaranteed to astound you with its spectacular scale. Constructed in the French Colonial style, this iconic building is rooted in history, playing an important part in the connection between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Inside, you’ll be awe-struck by the inspiring interior - admire the Roman arches, windows, and palmette ornaments, clearly influenced by European culture, which blend beautifully with ornate Asian features.

Just nearby is the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, an unmissable icon of the city with a resplendent red exterior. Many tourists take a special interest in the statue of the Virgin Mary outside the cathedral - in 2005, witnesses claim to have watched a tear trickle down the right side of the statue’s face, and although the top clergy in the Catholic Church could not confirm the sighting, the incident has drawn intrigued visitors for over a decade.

Riding on to the Reunification Palace, formerly known as the Independence Palace, you’ll be entranced by the exceptional architecture of this symbolic building, fronted by a spectacular fountain and luscious stretches of lawns. Capture incredible photos of this impressive sight before you bike onwards to the final stop on your city bike tour - the War Remnants Museum. This moving museum contains a series of engaging exhibits relating to the Vietnam and First Indochina Wars, and provides a thought-provoking end to an exceptional urban bike tour.

Exhilarating, fun and informative rides.

“We loved the ride in Ho Chi Minh City. Learning to navigate the crazy traffic was exhilarating, and made easy by our wonderful guide, Sarane, and by the early start on Saturday…” Full Review
