Bosnia and Herzegovina Day Tours

Cultural Crossroads

Bosnia and Herzegovina beckons with its ancient Ottoman architecture, well-preserved medieval towns like Mostar and Jajce, and fascinating blend of Eastern and Western influences. From the stunning mountain ranges of the Dinaric Alps to crystal-clear rivers and serene lakes, Bosnia and Herzegovina offers incredible opportunities for discovery by day tour.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has a long and varied history, passing through the hands of several empires: it was first a part of the Roman Empire and later became a part of the Byzantine Empire, followed a brief period of independence as the Kingdom of Bosnia, before passing to the Ottoman and then the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was integrated into Yugoslavia before its breakup led to the Bosnian War between 1992 and 1995, which resulted in the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hear about the formation of the state and the memories of locals who lived through this tumultuous period on the Sarajevo City & War Bike Tour. As well as an interactive history lesson, this city tour will demonstrate why Sarajevo is known as the ‘Jerusalem of Europe’ as well as showcasing the natural splendor of the nature reserves just outside the city.

Take a trip around Trebinje, the southernmost city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the country. A bike tour along the Jazina Railway Route will lead you to the world’s most biodiverse cave via a route along the crystal-clear River Sušic. Alternatively, an MTB tour will take you to Arslanagića Bridge, a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is often referred to as a bridge between East and West with its mix of cultures, religions, and traditions. Taking a bike tour as part of your trip will give you first-hand experience of visiting mosques, churches, Ottoman bridges, and Austro-Hungarian castles, creating a feeling of traversing two continents at once!
