The Wending is a former freight barge that started a new life in the early 1990s as a passenger motor barge. Since then, the Wending is a familiar fixture on several routes in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The Wending was renovated in 2015 and can accommodate up to 26 passengers in 12 cabins. It has a roomy, cozy salon, equipped with a complete music installation and TV. After a strenuous bike ride it is a great place to relax. Limited wifi is available on board, though only in the lounge and on deck (up to 50MB is free, with a surcharge for higher use).
Details about the cabins:
- 10 double cabins with 2 low single beds which can be pushed together
- 2 triple cabins with 2 low single beds and one high single bed (low beds can be pushed together)
Each cabin is equipped with the following:
- Private bathroom with shower and toilet
- Central heating
- Opening windows
- 220V electricity
- Limited storage for luggage (we recommend 1 suitcase per person which may be stored under the bed)
The Wending is a converted barge and remodeled to make efficient use of the limited space. The experience of the tour is built around guests being active cycling, and the layout of the barge supports a social environment in common spaces.
