Explore the fascinating historic outbuildings, where a blacksmiths, spinning house, and smokehouse once echoed with the sounds of their trades, nestled amongst the four gardens. Your friendly guide will be on-hand to tell you the history of the Upper, Lower, Botanical and Nursery Gardens, all of which delight the senses with rare blooms and fragrant fruit.
Take in the tomb, where visitors pay their respects each day with a wreath-laying ceremony. The New Tomb is the final resting place of George and Martha Washington, and many visitors to Mount Vernon cherish the chance to honor America's Founding Father. Nearby, share a somber moment at the Slave Cemetery, where archeological work is ongoing, and the Slave Memorial, where there is also the opportunity to lay a wreath.

Days Start Finish Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9:00 am ~2:00 pm Starting time: 9:00AM. We advise pickup of the bikes to be between 8:30AM-8:45AM. 125 S Union Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
The boat leaves from Mount Vernon at 1:30PM sharp and arrives arrives at Pier 4, 580 Water Street SW, Washington DC at 3PM.
Please note: this tour begins in Alexandria and ends in Washington DC!

very cool ride
· · Alexandria Mount Vernon Bike & Boat Tour
I have biked all over the US / world. This ride is a bucket list. if you can bounce out from DC / DCA and ride the path along the Potomac and back all the way. There are some great spots to eat in Alexandria as well.
