    • Take a two wheeled adventure around Agadir

Take a bike tour through Agadir, a charming city on Morocco's southern Atlantic Coast, to experience a cosmopolitan combination of traditional and modern Moroccan culture. Your experienced, local tour guide will have been trained by the Pikala Foundation, an initiative providing training and employment opportunities to local young people. As well as showing you the best of Agadir's sightseeing - Mosque Mohamed V, Talborjt, Olhao Garden, Souk el Had, Village Suisse, Main City Market, and a traditional bakery and bathhouse - your guide will share their favorite lesser-known spots with you, and tell you about what it is like to be born and raised in this bustling coastal city.

Your first stop on this city tour is the magnificent Mosque Mohamed V, which stands tall as a symbol of Islamic architecture in Agadir. Built in 1969 to commemorate the 60th birthday of King Mohammed V, the mosque is adorned with intricate tile work and carvings, and its towering minaret soars above the city's other roofs. As you ride on, you'll notice how the streets become more densely packed, which means you've reached the lively district of Talborjt. Cycling down the narrow streets and alleys, you'll pass local shops, cafes, and restaurants. Listen as your guide recommends their favorites so you can dine and shop like a local after your day tour is done.

This guided tour will also take a restful stop in the peaceful oasis of the Portuguese Olhao Garden. Designed by Portuguese architects in the 16th century, this beautiful green space is filled with fragrant flowers and tranquil water features. Your journey continues through the modern and bustling city center of Agadir, where you’ll explore the shops, cafes, and restaurants that line the streets. Take a pedal along the beachfront promenade where locals and tourists alike soak up the sun year-round in the city’s clement climate.

From here, this bicycle tour makes a stop at the vibrant Souk el Had market. Agadir’s largest market has twelve gates and sells every item under the sun: from tagine pots to traditional textiles, fresh spices to street food. Your guide can help you with haggling etiquette and direct you to the best sellers. On this guided tour, you’ll get a taste of the vast span of Agadir’s history, from the ancient to the very modern. Cycling past the Village Suisse, a residential complex that stands out with its sleek and contemporary design, your guide will explain how the rebuilding of the city after a devastating earthquake in 1960 has led to a variety of architectural styles in every corner of Agadir.

Your city tour will also include a stop at a traditional public bakery, where you'll see locals arriving with dough to be baked in the communal oven. Your sightseeing will round off with a visit to the traditional Hammam bathhouse, where locals come to cleanse their bodies, relax, and socialize in a centuries-old tradition.

Finally, your guided tour culminates at the Main City Market, the heart of Agadir's commercial activity. This stop is another opportunity to practice your haggling and sample the local handicrafts and gastronomy. You’ll finish this bike tour of Agadir having gained insight into the city’s history, customs and culture from a local’s perspective, and having directly supported the community you’re visiting. There’s no better way to take a bicycle tour!
