BikeToursDirect LLC PRIVACY POLICY

BikeToursDirect LLC (dba BikeTours.com) is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. To us, our relationship with clients is a bond of trust: that we will help ensure that you have exemplary bicycle tour experiences and that your personal information remains confidential and secure.

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand which information we gather, how we use it, and what we do to protect it, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.

For purposes of this Agreement, “Service” refers to the BikeToursDirect LLC’s (the “Company’s”) services, including but not limited to helping clients choose, plan and book European bicycle tours as well as processing payments for the tours. Such services can be accessed via our website at www.biketours.com or via email or phone. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You” refers to you, as a user of Service.

I. CONSENT

By accessing our Service, you accept our Privacy Policy and Terms and Condition, and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, by using our Service, you are accepting the policies and practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Each time you visit our website, or use the Service, and any time you voluntarily provide us with information, you agree that you are consenting to our collection, use and disclosure of the information that you provide, and you are consenting to receive emails or otherwise be contacted, as described in this Privacy Policy. Whether or not you book a tour or complete a form, this Privacy Policy applies to all users of the website and the Service.

When you subscribe to our newsletter or download an e-book, you agree that we may send you marketing promotions we feel would be of interest.

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time by means of an email notification or (in the case of the e-mail newsletter) by clicking on the unsubscribe link.

II. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect both Non-Personally Identifiable Information (“Non-Personal Information”) and Personally Identifiable Information (“Personal Information”) about you.

“Non-Personal Information” includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks.

“Personal Information” includes information that can be used to personally identify you, such as your name, address and email address.

In addition, we may also track information provided to us by your browser when you view or use the Service, such as the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device from which you connected to the Service, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you. We use this information for, among other things, the operation of the Service, to maintain the quality of the Service, to provide general statistics regarding use of the Service and for other business purposes.

We track this information primarily using cookies, or small text files which include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to a user’s browser from our servers and are stored on the user’s computer hard drive. Sending a cookie to a user’s browser enables us to collect Non-Personal Information about that user and keep a record of the user’s preferences when utilizing our services, both on an individual and aggregate basis.  Cookies can be blocked or removed by following your Internet browser help file directions.

III. HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION

Personal Information

Company collects personal information when you make an inquiry or book a tour with us.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, other direct contact, or the inquiry or booking request forms on the website. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your inquiry or booking request (such as with the tour operator).

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

All credit card and electronic check transactions are through Authorize.net, a leading provider of payment management services to hundreds of thousands of online businesses around the world. You may review their privacy policy here. In rare cases where we take credit card information over the phone, we convey that information online to Authorize.net and destroy our record of that information.

In addition, we may disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law or if you violate our Terms of Use.

Non-Personal Information

Non-Personal Information is simply data that is anonymous. This data can not be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity such as their name, social security number, date and place of birth, biometric records etc.

When you view our website, we may store certain information on your computer in the form of a cookie file. We use online identifiers, including cookie identifiers, internet protocol addresses, device identifiers, client identifiers, email cookies, name cookies, time cookies, and other similar technologies to measure the use of our website and improve its content, to present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interaction, and to customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us.

We also aggregate Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns of the Service.

Confidential information
In some cases, we ask clients for information needed to ensure a safe and pleasant tour experience including dietary restrictions, medical conditions, and personal travel preferences.

We may also gather information such as passport details, flight information, and birth dates.

We keep this information confidential and pass this information along only to the tour operators and only as needed.

IV. HOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such precautions. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

V. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes. When we send a promotional communication, you can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each promotional e-mail.   Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences you indicate by either unsubscribing or opting out in the Settings section of the Site, we may continue to send you administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to our Privacy Policy.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

The Company reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use at any time. X. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS AND OPTING OUT

We will send you Service-related announcements on occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if we need to ask for or provide information regarding your booking, we might send you an email.  Generally, you may not opt out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature.  Based upon the Personal Information that you provide us, we may communicate with you in response to your inquiries to provide the services you request and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes. 

We may also use your Personal Information to send you updates and other promotional communications. If you no longer wish to receive those email updates, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each update or communication.
