On this tour the small town of Bled will serve as your "home", as you cycle through the surrounding area. Bled is known for its beautiful setting, glacial lake, castle perched high on a cliff above the lake and a pilgrimage church on the island. Highlights of the tour includes Lake Bohinj, Savica waterfall and Vintgar Gorge. Take a cable car up to the top of Mount Vogel and admire the stunning mountain scenery in Krma valley and Triglav National park. Enjoy the charm of countless, quaint alpine villages including Kropa, Radovljica, Bohinj and Ribzev Lax, as you cycle each day from Beld to explore Slovenia's hidden gems!
Day 1: Arrival to Lake Bled
Today you arrive to Bled, and your hotel in the town centre. Bled is known for it’s beautiful setting, lake, castle on the rock above the lake and a pilgrimage church on the island.
Options of routes to choose from for each day:
Tour A: Sightseeing tour around Bled (9 miles/15 km)
The first day's introductory cycling tour is flat and goes around Lake Bled Island with Virgin Mary church (visit it by a boat, or hire your own boat) and castle set on a 328 feet (100 m) rock above the town.
Tour B: Bled- Bodesce- Kropa - Bled (20 miles/33 km)
Today you will cycle to Smithies Workshops and through a medieval town. The day's biking route goes alongside Jelovica high-plateau and Sava River; and will be easy, with some undemanding hills. A highlight of the route is the old smithies' village of Kropa with a museum, and the bee-keeping museum in Radovljica. We recommend taking your lunch in an old fashioned restaurant next to the castle in Radovljica.
Tour C: Bled- Begunje - Radovljica - Bled (27 miles/43 km)
Today is a Sound of Music Tour, and a very easy route, and completely flat route. Today's highlights are: Begunje, the hometown of the famous Slavko Avsenik/Oberkrainer band, WW2 museum, ruins of Kamen castle, and a visit to Vrba, the birthplace of many Slovenian poets and writers.
Tour D: Bled- Gorje (12 miles/19 km)
You will cycle along two gorges, which provide a beautiful panoramic tour around Bled. There will be one gradual climb of 492 feet (150 m) to cycle. Today's highlights are: Pokljuka canyon and Vintgar gorge, which is a 1 miles (1.6 km) long canyon of the Radovna river. We recommend a trout lunch in the restaurant at the entrance to the gorge.
Tour E: Bled - Bohin (27 miles/44 km)
Today's ride takes you on a tour around Lake Bohinn. It starts with a car transfer to the top of Pokljuka high plateau, before you cycle 12 miles (20 km) downhill and alongside Sava Bohinjka river. You'll see great scenery of alpine villages, and enjoy some tasty food in local village inns. Highlights of the route are: Lake Bohinj, the Savica waterfall, cable car ride up Mount Vogel, Triglav National park and quiet Alpine villages.
Tour F: Bled - Krma Valley (22 miles/36 km)
Heart of National Park. Cycling first through the Radovna valley to the foot of Mount Triglav, the route will have some light climbs. Cycling through Triglav National Park, is a very relaxing ride through a peaceful area. You'll bike pas: stunning mountain scenery on the end of the Krma valley. The valley is a peaceful area of deep woods, monuments from WW2 and old farmhouses; one of which has been transferred into a museum, which was visited by prince Charles!

This tour is a collection of easy tours suitable for all cyclists. Primarily relaxed cycling, the terrain ranges from flat to occassional and rolling hills. On one day there is a gradual climb of 492 feet (150 m).
Approximately 60% of the tour is on quiet roads, 25% on roads shared with traffic, 10% on dirt or gravel roads and 5% on dedicated bicycle paths. The maximum daily elevation gain is 492 feet (150 m), with a maximum percentage grade of 4%.
This tour is appropiate for hybrid bikes and e-bikes.

Nearest airport: Ljubljana, Slovenia
Nearest train station: Beld, Slovenia has two main stations, Lesce-Bled station (located 2 miles/4 km south of Bled) and Bled Jezero.
It is best to take a taxi to Bled from Ljubljana airport. If you wish to use public transportation, you will first need to travel to Ljubljana or Kranj and take a local bus to Beld. Ljubljana airport has no train connection to the Beld.

- Up to 56 days prior to holiday start date = 20% of total holiday cost
- 35-55 days prior to holiday start date = 40% of total holiday cost
- 28-35 days prior to holiday start date = 70% of total holiday cost
- 1-27 days prior to holiday start date = 90% of total holiday cost
Cancellation costs are calculated in percentage of final payment amount on invoice issued. No cancellation fee will be applied to bike hire.
Helia covers damage on rented bikes (normal wear and tear) up to value of 10 EUR per bike. Bikes are not insured against theft. Clients are invited to take out travel insurance covering such events. As of 1.1.2011 in Slovenia helmets are obliged for cyclist. From Januray 1, 2012 this law will strictly be enforced by Slovene police. Clients may hire helmets from Helia or bring their own.
