Day 1: Salzburg – Burghausen (34 miles/55 km)
Individual arrival in Salzburg before 9 am. After adjusting the bicycles to suit you, you will leave the festival city of Salzburg and take the path along the bank of the Salzach to Oberndorf. It was here that the Christmas carol “Silent Night, Holy Night” was written in 1818, as the little “Silent Night Chapel” reminds us.
In the afternoon you will reach your destination for the day: Burghausen, with the longest castle buildings in the world.
Overnight in Burghausen.
Day 2: Burghausen – Schärding (42 miles/68 km)
After riding through the largest wooded region of the Inn district – Weilhart Forest – you come upon the Inn-Salzach view, where the Salzach flows into the Inn. You will pass through Braunau and come then to Obernberg, a thousand-year-old town with an extremely beautiful market square.
Not long after that you arrive at Reichersberg Abbey, where the Augustine canons have lived for more than 900 years. From Reichersberg it is only a few miles to your destination, Schärding.
Overnight in Schärding.
Day 3: Schärding – Schlögen (37 miles/58 km)
Take your leave of the beautiful baroque town of Schärding with its enchanting “Silberzeile” and ride via Wernstein along the Inn again to the "city of three rivers", Passau. You will follow the Danube all the way to the famous Danube loop of Schlögen ("Schlögener Schlinge").
Overnight in Schlogen.
Day 4: Schlögen – Linz (32 miles/51 km)
You ride today through some of the most beautiful countryside to Aschach and on to Wilhering Abbey. After passing through Ottensheim you reach Linz, the capital of Upper Austria.
Overnight in Linz.
Day 5: Linz – Grein/Ardagger (41 miles/65 km)
You leave Linz riding out past the industrial area, and on reaching Asten Danube power station turn to the inner parts of the country and Mauthausen, where you follow the Danube again as far as the next power station in Wallsee. You then ride through the fertile Machland region to Grein/Ardagger via Lake Wallsee.
Overnight in Grein/Ardagger.
Day 6: Grein/Ardagger – Melk/Emmersdorf (34 miles/54 km)
Past Marbach, the pilgrimage center of Maria Taferl greets you from the hills, and after passing the Danube power station you arrive in Melk/Emmersdorf, where you can pay a visit to the famous Benedictine Abbey.
Overnight in Melk/Emmersdorf.
Day 7: Melk/Emmersdorf – Krems – Vienna (25 miles/40 km)
Today you ride through the beautiful Wachau region, well known for its choice wines. Your route takes you through Spitz and Weißenkirchen. The best known town in the Wachau is Dürnstein, where Richard the Lion Heart was once taken captive.
The destination of your cycling trip is Krems, where you will hand over your bicycles and travel the rest of the way to Vienna by train (tickets are included in the tour package).

"The holiday was fantastic. Everything was well organized. Hotels were all excellent and my backpack was always waiting for me when I got there and all had great breakfasts.
"I loved the rides and managed to lose about 8kgs (I needed to). The section from Passau to Krems was much easier, but I’m glad I did the Salzburg to Passau leg. The weather in Salzburg was rainy when we arrived, however, it cleared up the following day and it was perfect for the whole ride - couldn't have asked for better.
"Thanks once again for organizing the trip and would have no hesitation in recommending your company in the future."
- Mike S.
"Today is our final day to Vienna. So far a wonderful trip! I've given your web site to several people we met along the way. Thanks for your help and prompt responses!

Austria sits at the crossroads of Central Europe, once the Habsburg Empire’s seat of power that ruled Europe for over 6 centuries. While Habsburg power ended after World War I, Austria remains a prominent country. Today it is known for its idyllic and majestic landscape of mountains, green valleys, rivers and storybook villages. Along with such a landscape are the cultural centers of Vienna and Salzburg. The elegant city of Vienna reveals the glory days of the Habsburg Empire, featuring the Hofburg Imperial Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and impressive Opera House. Salzburg, home of Mozart and The Sound of Music, has Europe’s largest intact medieval fortress overlooking the cobblestone streets of its historic Old Town.

Cancellation of the trip resp. change of reservation:
If you want to cancel the tour, please inform us immediately.
We charge the following cancellation fees:
The arrival day counts as the beginning of the journey. In case of re-booking (changes with respecting to travel date/category/type of room/board) up to 28 days before departure, we charge a service fee of € 55, -- per booking. Later rebooking (if still possible) cannot be carried out until after the cancellation of the travel contract according to the given terms and simultaneous new registration. Special terms apply partly to tours in collaboration with a local contract partner.
The travel price includes the booking of a double room per person; however, single travellers have the possibility of booking a single room against surcharge. Due to limited numbers of single rooms in some hotels, travellers are (in cases of emergency) expected to make do with simpler rooms. For details about the extent of contractual services, please consult the service section of the respective tour. On the main, the stages of the itinerary represent the daily destinations. In particular cases, we need to assume your consent for switching to places in the nearer vicinity without a reduction.
Changes of the travel price:
The tour operator reserves the right to raise the booking price on grounds which are not dependent on his will or unforeseeable, provided the travel date lies 2 months after the conclusion of contract. Such reasons are, exclusively, changes in transportation costs such as raise in fuel or embarkation/disembarkation expenses in harbours. The organiser can raise the booking price according to the following calculations: a. in case of a rise with regard to the cabin, the travellers can be expected to pay an increase. b. in other cases, the additional transportation costs, which carriers demand for each transport, will be divided by the number of cabin places of the arranged transport. The resultant increase for the cabin can be charged to the traveller. We are obligated to inform you immediately (otherwise no later than 21 before the arranged date of arrival) about an intended, legally permissible price increase. A price increase after that time is not permissible. Should price increases exceed 5 % of the total booking price, the traveller is entitled to withdraw from the travel contract without any further costs. You are bound to make use of this right immediately after receipt of the notification of change. In this case we will reimburse you for all your earlier payments. There exist no further claims.
With the due diligence of a proper merchant, we are liable for the correctness of the descriptions of all given travel services as described in the catalogue, as well as for the proper selection and mediation of service providers (hotels, transport companies etc.) and conscientious travel preparation and arrangement. For visits that are included in the programme, but which are no longer possible for reasons that are beyond our control (e.g. renovations, barriers, reconstructions etc.), we cannot be held responsible. You partake in the journey at your own risk. Every participant is solely responsible for his or her physical ability to meet the challenges of the booked trip. Likewise, every traveller is responsible for abiding by the road traffic regulations. The conditions of transport of the respective transport companies apply. Our liability – whatever the legal ground – is limited to a total of the triple of the travel price, insofar as the damage has not been caused deliberately or through gross negligence on our part, or insofar as we are solely responsible on account of a fault committed by one of our service providers. We do not reimburse you for unused services. Every client is responsible to conform personally to all pass, visa, customs and health regulations. Minors can only participate if they are accompanied by a legal guardian. If a trip has to be cancelled for reasons which are beyond our influence (acts of God, strikes etc.) or concerning boat and bike tours in case of extremely high water or low water or in case of an engine trouble, we will reimburse you for the already paid travel price (no more requirements). We reserve the right to cancel a trip up to 21 days (at the latest) before departure, if not at least 8 people have signed up for it. In this case you will be notified immediately and receive a refund of all previous payments. Further claims do not exist. Should you - contrary to expectations- have any reason for complaints, please communicate them to us or the tour operator of the journey (please refer to your travel documents). Furthermore, we will receive complaints in written form until one month at the latest after the end of the trip (the date as indicated in the contract). A written confirmation is needed for any oral agreements to take effect; changes in services and prices are reserved, as well as the correction of errors and printing and spelling mistakes. The place of jurisdiction is the home of the tour operator.
