Majestic are the famous Tyrolean mountains. The Zillertal Alps, the Karwendelgebirge mountains, the Kitzbühel Alps, and the Nordkette mountain chain form a spectacular scenery for your tour. And in spite of the up to 3,500 m high mountains, you will ride your bike through the Tyrolean valleys on mostly flat roads. The Zillertal valley and the Inntal valley offer excellent routes for easy cycling. You will get unforgettable impressions of the country between Innsbruck and Kufstein. Friendly people, beautiful small towns that line up like pearls on a chain at the river Inn, lakes for swimming, and a great mountain scenery. Moreover, there are many other points of interest along the way: the Olympic city of Innsbruck, the Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria’s smallest town Rattenberg, the silver mines in Schwaz, and a large number of different castles.
Cyclists can experience all of this without the hassle of packing and unpacking a suitcase every day. The tour is based in one hotel, where you can spend a week in a comfortable hotel pampered by your hosts and friendly staff.

Day 1: Individual arrival to Fügen
Welcome meeting with first information about the coming days and adjusting of rental bicycles.
Day 2: Zillertal Valley (28 miles/45 km)
The nearby Zillertal bicycle path ascends at a 2% grade to the valley in Mayrhofen. Take the cable car up to Zillertal Glacier World and visit the activity center, “Sennerei Zillertal,” where you can learn about farming cattle on alpine pastures. You return to the hotel on old connecting roads that are slightly downhill.
Day 3: Lake loop (31 miles/50 km)
Today's route begins with a short ride to the Inn cycle path along the dark-green Inn River. The route continues on the cycle path to Kramsach before reaching Lake Krummsee and Lake Reintalersee, where you can visit Tyrol's farm museum. Another highlight of the day's ride is a visit to Rattenberg, an historic old town, the oldest and smallest town in Austria, which is home to many glass blowers and cafes and restaurants.
Day 4: Innsbruck & Inntal Valley (35 miles/55 km)
Today you cycle on the Inn cycle path to Innsbruck, a distance of about 31 miles (50 km). On your way you should visit Wattens, home to Swarovski Crystal, and Tirol's old salt town and historic mint tower. Highlights of Innsbruck include the charming old town, Golden Dachl, city tower, Helbinghouse, Royal court and church and a modern ski-jump with café and panorama view. After touring Innsbruck, you return to the Zillertal Valley by train.
Day 5: Rest day
Even though this is a cycle tour, at least one day should be dedicated to rest. You can enjoy the amenities of your hotel, visit an alpine pasture or take advantage of many other excursions throughout the valleys.
Day 6: Schwaz and Gorge Wolfsklamm (35 miles/55 km)
After a day of rest, you once again bike in the Inntal valley. Cycling west, the route follows different roads than the previous days. Stops along the route include Schwaz's old silver mine, the idyllic Wolfsklamm Gorge in Stans and, on the way back, a interesting audio-guided tour of Tratzberg Castle.
Day 7: Kufstein – Pearl of the Inntal Valley (35 miles/55 km)
Even though it might be hard to believe, today is the last ride of the tour. It follows the Inn River to Kufstein, the “pearl” on the green river. A visit to the mighty fortress, including an old organ and planetarium, along with a stroll through old town are some highlights of the town. On your way to Kufstein, it is worth visiting Kundler Klamm Gorge. You can return by train to Jenbach and follow the Zillertal cycle path the remaining distance back to the hotel.

Austria sits at the crossroads of Central Europe, once the Habsburg Empire’s seat of power that ruled Europe for over 6 centuries. While Habsburg power ended after World War I, Austria remains a prominent country. Today it is known for its idyllic and majestic landscape of mountains, green valleys, rivers and storybook villages. Along with such a landscape are the cultural centers of Vienna and Salzburg. The elegant city of Vienna reveals the glory days of the Habsburg Empire, featuring the Hofburg Imperial Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and impressive Opera House. Salzburg, home of Mozart and The Sound of Music, has Europe’s largest intact medieval fortress overlooking the cobblestone streets of its historic Old Town.
